I have 14 weeks...

Monday, February 25, 2013

..... to feel better about my Triceps ...I think my march reward needs to have something to do with strength training on my triceps...I need to make my arms look and feel better by June 1st ...so that I will feel comfortable in my tank tops for the summer (and my husbands sons) HHS graduation!

This is a video of the triceps exercise I have chosen to do.

Now to think of a 31 day reward!

That looks good, I've done something similar to that in the past. You'll also want to balance things out and do the front of your arms too, maybe with some curls or something. You're going to be looking hot at Erik's graduation!

I'm in need of some advice.....

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I bought this dress last August when I was about 207...I'm not a curve person so I'm very uncomfortable in this dress...but, my husband really likes it so I would like to feel good in it.... I think in 20 pounds or so I will feel comfortable all except my arms....that's where I need the advice. How do I get my arms toned? And keep them that way with minimal work...is that even possible?

So I guess what I'm wondering is how do you fill up all your excess arm skin and then how do you keep it that way? emoticon

I agree that strength training is the way to go. I agree it can be minimal, but minimal meaning 2-3 times a week, honestly doing 3 or 4 different moves and 10-15 reps for 3 sets would only take you 15-20 minutes and it will do wonders. Love all the colors in the dress!

Very cute dress. I agree that strength training for the arms is key. It will help a lot.

I have a really hard time with strength training ...so thank you I will focus on the triceps extensions!

For the flabby skin the best exercise you can do are triceps extensions, you could just grab the dumbbell anytime you are sitting around. I personally love strength training, it has done wonders for my flabby skin.

As far as the dress, I think it is awesome. I love all the color, and the fact your husband loves it.

emoticon My advice about your arms is to do toning exercises at least 2 to 3 times a week. I mix toning exercises in with my cardio. I see a big improvement in my arms. It isn't going to happen over night. It takes lots of work. My suggestion if you have the money is to get (P90X) Some of the workouts are pretty extreme and if you don't feel ready to do them, you could always do the arm exercises. They also do pull-ups and push ups. Push ups are amazing in toning triceps and biceps. Don't give up! You can do it! If you don't want to buy the workout, then I would suggest Tricep Kickbacks for the back of your arms, bicep curls for your biceps and do at least 3 sets. Now as far as weights, I would start out with 5-8 lbs and you can buy weights anywhere. Then once you feel you can do 10-15 reps with good form, then up your weight to 10 lbs and go from there. I hope this helps! emoticon

IMHO I think your arms look okay until you stuck them out to the side to show us. I agree with the poster who suggested a shrug to wear on top. The pattern of the fabric is such that a belt would merely accentuate the bright pattern, but you can try one. I think Nicole has a workout for toning your arms,, just type in the keywords and it should pop up for you,,

You could always put a shrug or sweater over your dress. Also, you could add a belt which would give your dress a different look. It would define your waist and it would help to show your curves.

Personally, I don't like it, but it's the way it's cut and patterned, not your body, so as long as your husband likes it and you feel fine in it, go for it! When you feel comfortable in your clothes, you move and act differently, and that alone will make you look even prettier. You're lucky to have a husband who will tell you what he likes on you! Keep up the good work!

Arms are tough for a lot of us...look at the SparkPeople exercise videos and see if you can find something there, or look on the internet for muscle building arm exercises.
