I'm craving.....

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Chinese food ... for about a week now...I keep going back and forth on whether or not it would be worth it.....the place I would really like to get it at .. I have no way of tracking so I have decided that Panda Express would be the better option...the Orange Chicken Chow mein bowl is 910 calories ...is it worth it emoticon I've been trying to rationalize how I can eat it without hurting my progress....and I was thinking about walking there to get it and then back home....I mapped it and it's not far enough... emoticon it's only 2 miles away so by the time I walk back home 4 miles....that's only 400+ calories that I would be burning ....I'm not sure if I wrote this blog to talk myself out of it or what?

Get the chinese. Fill Iup on veggies first. Like you would a salad at a steak house. Then eat 1/2 of the chinese. You won't want any more anyway. That is what I do with just about everything that I want. I don't ever feel deprived and can limit my intake without that feeling of OMG I have to finish it or I will be hungry!
Best of Luck!

LILYBELLE12 - emoticon for the suggestion....you don't happen to live near Salt Lake do you? emoticon I have spent the last week trying to make things (Chinese at home) and I guess I'm not a very good cook .. I need someone to teach me how...because I'm still craving it.

A couple other options would be buy the Panda Express at the Grocery Store Freezer section, and make it at home. Measure out the portion you want and save the rest for lunch and another meal later in the week. Or invite a friend and share. You can also look up some Chinese Recipes and modify them and make it at home. We make a lot of Chinese at Home. I keep some basic Chinese Condiments and spices at home to cook with like Chinese 5 Spice, Low Sodium Soy Sauce, Hoisin Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Sesame oil, ginger and Blackbean and Garlic Sauce. I find with just these few things, I can make quite a few different Chinese Dishes we enjoy. I usually use either Brown Rice or Multi Grain Rices, and we usually use fish or chicken though I have done some beef dishes. I always seem to have a variety of fresh and frozen vegetables on hand so it is very quick and easy.

I think eating half is good. Give away the other half or allow yourself to have it the next day. Chances are, that after you eat that first half, you will think it's not worth it. If you've been thinking about it this long, you should probably have it. Wait until after your weigh in, then have it and then behave until your next weigh in. Walk to and from the restaurant and do any other thing that will help you indulge in this craving and make it a success!

It was sort of like me and the pizza the other week. I was so excited to get it for dinner, I'd hardly eaten anything all day, then when I did eat it, I ended up eating much less because it wasn't all that.

Get it out of your system and move on, or you'll make up for this craving by eating too much of something else and still not be satisfied.

That's just my opinion. emoticon

The reason I am opting for the bowl is because it is one serving...so sharing it wouldn't work ...and the hubby's out of town. emoticon

I would get it and only eat half. That way you won't deprive yourself. Give the other half to your husband.

I believe if you want something you should get it. I stay on track all week long, but reward myself with something I am really craving at the end of the week. Its all about portion control, and I don't just gorge myself to death either. If I wanted it, I would go for it!

Weigh in days

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

For the last 5 weeks ... I have weighed in every morning, after exercise and evening ....what this has done has shown me that it is best for me to weigh in on Tuesdays and Thursdays after my morning workout ....if I'm going to show a loss for the week those are the 2 days I will most likely do so! emoticon With that said tomorrow morning is my last chance to show a loss this week and I really need to make the right activity and food choices.....right now I am at 16,206 steps and I have eaten 501 calories and it's 2:30 ish.... emoticon wish me luck!

A little disapointed in myself tonight =(

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

I got a tiny bit stressed out and started just eating out of a bag of chips....it could have been a lot worse since the chips were baked lays and I hadn't had dinner yet....I'm not going to be hard on myself I'm just going to log them (delete my dinner) and then fix what ever damage I did with the calories I earn tomorrow....even with the damage I have a -6170 calorie deficit over the last 6 days so I'm still 170 ahead of my goal.....I just don't like feeling like I lost control..... emoticon Why is there no bag of chips "Emoticon"?

It's all about the math, remember? A high number day today? Balance it out with another day and you'll be fine. Have you been eating a really low fat diet? If so, you may in fact be craving fat!

Next time you're feeling stressed, call me! I ate some candy today, but stayed in my ranges, but I really didn't want to eat it. I'm not sure why I did. It's a good thing I had to be somewhere or who knows what kind of damage I might have done.

Hang in there...you'll balance out those numbers and be just fine!

You are doing great! Look at it this way. You probably won't want any chips for awhile. emoticon

I know it was just silly ....I mean if I'm going to eat of bag of chips for 1000 calories I could have gone to Panda Express and just got something I have been craving for weeks. .....I'm over it ...I will make it up tomorrow..who knows maybe I needed the extra fat...on the bright side ...I hit my fiber and believe it or not I wasn't that much over on my sodium....my scale hasn't moved for 5 days...maybe this will help it...in the right direction I hope!

Sounds like chips for dinner. Don't be hard on yourself, just move forward. Progress not perfection!

I know what you mean. Just remember it's about progress. There might be setbacks, but that's ok. You are changing your life everyday, but it is still life. It can't be perfect all the time.

Another thing I love about my fitbit

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

I can't wait to go camping with my fitbit....I will know exactly how many steps I have each day which will help me to know if I have been active enough so that I do not have to come back from camping an re-lose weight! emoticon

Oh hey, that's a good plan...I never thought of using it for that!

I wonder, if we're away from the computer for a few days of camping, if all those days worth of sleep and input will still update on Fitbit, or if it will just cover the day we get home? I suppose if it doesn't, then we can track it on paper and just manually enter it when we get home....but it would be cool if it updated with all of the info for the missing days.
