500 + Treadmill workout!

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

This Spark newsletter motivated me to get on my tredmill today! I have been avoiding it this winter for some reason. So I decided to post it here in hopes that it will motivate someone else. emoticon

I can't believe you are going to walk outside. I don't even like walking into the gym from my car. It is just too cold, but after these 0 degree days 20 might feel like 50. Either way emoticon !!!!

Years ago my treadmill breaking would have thrown me off track...but my love for the treadmill has faded anyways so it wont! The forecast says that for the next 10 days is should be at least 20 degrees so I will just walk outside! I feel really good today...last night when I text you I was laying in bed...I told my husband I couldn't do it I was going to get something to eat....his reply was ok but, if you do I'm getting a beer!

Honestly I could care less if he has a beer ..but he set a goal this year to only drink on the weekends and I know it's been hard for him ...soooo I stayed in bed and did not get anything to eat. Not sure why that comment worked but, it did and I'm happy to say I don't even need a pep talk today!

14 more days! emoticon

I might have had a heart attack too. I was in such a hurry to get to my 10,000 steps last night before I went to bed that I jogged a bit on my treadmill. All I can say about that is....OUCH. It was kind of nice to feel sore this morning though. I felt like I worked extra hard.

Regarding your treadmill overheating, that STINKS! Is it burned out or can you still walk on it? Do you think it's worth having someone come look at? I'd hate for the weather and/or your treadmill to keep you from exercising! 14 more days until we've made it to our 30 day streak of being on track!

Well it turns out that jogging / walking over 3mph is not as easy as I thought it was going to be ... for me or my treadmill.....after 5 min at 4mph I thought I was going to have a heart attack and apparently so did my treadmill because it emoticon ed in mid run! I guess the motor over heated emoticon . It better be warm enough to walk outside tomorrow and the rest of the year!!!

One room at a time....

Another reason I love my Fitbit....as suggested to me last week .. I decided to pick a room in my house and clean it today...I chose my bedroom (since that's where you are supposed to feel relaxed) I got up early this morning and just started cleaning ...I feel great my room looks great and I racked up 2550 steps on my fitbit cleaning my room.... and did I mention I feel GREAT! emoticon

I like that system. It works for me when I feel overwhelmed and want to get something accomplished.

thoughts...

Sometimes....(like today ) I sit and think about how much of my life I have spent trying to change my eating habits and how many times I have succeeded in losing weight only to let it come back....my highest was 260 and my lowest was 129 .... I lost 60 I gained 30 I lost 75 I gained 130 I lost 100 I gained 80 ...those are all such large and drastic numbers but, that is how I spent 1996-2010 .....for the last 2 years I have focused more on losing a little maintaining it losing a little more maintaining it ....and so on ....In hopes that eventually I will get back to 129 and be able to maintain it.

I know I'm not alone ...I know many many others that have the same struggles... emoticon

You are among friends. It's hard, otherwise Spark would not exist and heart disease, diabetes, etc. would not exist. Nobody said this was easy.

One friend to another. You can do this, you proved to yourself that you can. Key is to own your choices and know that this is not a race to the fastest goal. I would rather lose slowly and know I could maintain than lose very quickly with uncertainty in my future.

You can do this, I am 100% confident you can; keep plugging away and seek to understand your mind and why you make choices.

You are so right. I am new to this journey but I am learning that it is such a HUGE struggle. At least we all know we are in this struggle together. You are doing amazing!!

Looking back just lets you know you can do it. Your problem isn't in losing the weight, it's maintaining the weight loss. Your going to get there and when you do, just remember most of us on Spark gain weight easily. We have to count our calories even after we get there just to maintain. And the fact that you are learning to maintain your goals, means that this time will be for keeps! emoticon

How about baking some high fiber muffins? You could add something to the recipes you've already tried or try something new. Or, go back to the Fiber One bars. Do you still like those? How about veggies or fruit, or oatmeal?

I know what you mean about the emoticons...they have burgers and fries...why no chips?
