Fitbit realization

Thursday, January 03, 2013

It seems that in order for me to not think about food non-stop I need to be able to log 1700-2000 a day. In order for me to lose weight doing so ...I need to take 20,000 steps a day! Right now my fitbit says I'm averaging 13,000 + so It looks like I know what I need to goal is going to be 100,000 steps a week and by the end of may I would like to be walking 150,000 + so that I can enjoy the food I like and still lose's just a numbers game right?

Right! And if you can fit in 20,000 steps a day, more power to ya! You're going to be in such good shape.

The only thing that could make my Fitbit better.....

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

....Is if it had a speaker so that when it talked to me I knew it! I would love it if my fitbit shouted out things like "Hey get off your butt" or "I hope your not eating right now" or "WTG keep up the good work" or "Hey your about to lose a spot on the leader board" emoticon

With that said I really love that my exercise is wirelessly up loaded and tracked for me and I love that there is a scale that would send my weight to the website....My husband says this is imposable but, I really need them to invent something that calculates my calories as I'm eating them or...when I make a dish for it to tell me exactly how many calories are in my portion as I'm dishing it up ...I dont know about the rest of you ...but, when I am eating right I have no problem tracking my food ...its when I'm not making good decisions that I need to know my calories and the last thing I'm going to do when I'm shoveling food into my mouth when I'm stress is keep track of the calories but if as I was eating them a little electronic device was like 100 calories....200 calories ...1000 calories ...."for the love of god put down the fork" least then I would know how much walking I had to do in order to reverse the damage....

Just sayin emoticon

Haha I giggled at the "put down the fork" bit!! Love it! If they can invent a device that tells you how many cals you burn, then I'm sure someone somewhere can invent a device to tell you how many cals you are eating!!! emoticon

No kidding! Maybe someone will invent something that you can wear that will count your intake of calories and talk to you when you're off track. lol.

Let's hit the drawing board...we'd be rich!

JESSIHOVER2- my husband agrees with you emoticon I've decided that I'm going to go with out the drinks for the next 21-25 days and then try to add them in without the food. We shall see!

In 2007 when I lost 100 pounds...I didn't have to worry about any day of the week because I didn't have a job and my husband was always at work so there was never a wind down day for that I am working and he has Saturday nights off that has become our wind down night which usually (ok always) involves drinks and Carnitas which includes tortilla chips ....that is why Saturdays have become a problem for me. I just need to figure out another way to wind down and still enjoy the night.

Saturdays are hard!! There is no way around it, just make the best out of the that you can and be really good the rest of the week. It all works out in the end. Best of luck to you, this will be a great year!!

Hmm...Saturdays seem to be the consistent challenge for you. I think if you come up with a plan for Saturdays, the rest of the occcasions are so few and far between that if you do well the rest of the time, you can allow yourself a splurge here and there, along with making some simple substitutes.

I look forward to seeing what your plan is!

Happy New Year 2013

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

So today I remind myself that 2007 was not easy but, it sure was worth it! emoticon

I am reminding myself how hard the first 3 weeks of being 100% on track actually was....I was very moody (Bitchy and cried a lot) once the first 21 days passed I still had hard days but, good decisions came so much easier!

I am reminding myself that these feelings of reservation are mearly the bad food and lack of exercise talking. If I fuel myself with healthy foods and lots of exercise I will want to stay on track.....if I feed myself full of crap I will feel like crap and I will want to give up.

So it's as simple as this ...I can make losing 80 ish pounds easy and enjoyable on myself by making the right decisions or I can continue to fight myself everyday Mrshoneycomb what is it going to be?

Stay tuned January 1st 2014......................................

We can do this! Remember how nothing stopped us from tracking or exercising or doing what we needed to do for us? I remember going to the gym at 5am, waiting outside in the cold for the front door to open, with a chest cold and sore throat, and I still worked out! I used to go to lunch or dinner with friends, coworkers, or family, and order a salad and bring my own dressing, and I weighed and measured everything! I'm going back to that, damn it, and so should you. This is what worked for us let's do it again!!!!!

This is what I wrote in my blog last January 1st 2012 "Well 1 year ago I was sitting here at 240 pounds wondering if I ate right and exercised some of the time and didn't worry about the all or nothing ...would I even lose any weight? I am happy to say that I am now sitting her at 210 lbs and happy to say yes ... I spent less than half of my time really focused on losing weight and I was able to get off 30lbs ... not the 101 pounds that I lost in 2007 but, I think I've learned a lot more about maintenance and honestly I think maintaining is a lot harder then losing."

I didn't lose any weight this year but, maintaining was a success! emoticon
