Well 1 year ago I was sitting here at 240 pounds wondering if I ate right and exercised some of the time and didn't worry about the all or nothing ...would I even lose any weight? I am happy to say that I am now sitting her at 210 lbs and happy to say yes ... I spent less than half of my time really focused on losing weight and I was able to get off 30lbs ... not the 101 pounds that I lost in 2007 but, I think I've learned a lot more about maintenance and honestly I think maintaining is a lot harder then losing.

Now with that said my goal this year is to get down to 170 so that I will qualify for health discounts on my insurance ... we are having a contest at work for the highest % of weight loss over the next 14 weeks and the winner gets between $100.00-$1200.00 .. if I could win then my husband and I could go on a much needed cruise ... so for the next 14 weeks my goal is to eat 1200 calories each day and burn 350 calories each day exercising. And hopefully that will be enough to win the $1200.00 and lose 49 pounds. Once the contest is over on April 7th I plan to work on maintaining that weight through the rest of the spring and Summer. Sometime in mid October I will then work on losing the remaining 30lbs to finally reach my goal set back in 2006 when I started. emoticon

    I'm so proud of you Kristi and I am rooting you on! You are an inspiration. I know you can win this contest. Sounds like you have a good plan to not only be successful and able to maintain, but to enjoy life while doing it.

    I totally agree. I think losing weight is the easy part, keeping it off will be a lot harder. I am scared to death of that part!

2011 Holidays

I'm currently fluxing between 214-210 through the holidays. I did my workout Christmas Eve morning ate what I wanted that day and Christmas day and I just finished my day after Christmas workout. I am planning to workout and make good food choice from now until Saturday when I then plan to Eat, Drink, and be Merry emoticon. When that is all over with I have made a commitment to myself to be 100% from January 1st-April 7th while I am participating in my work Weight loss program. Normally I strive to lose 2lbs a week but for the contest I am planning to Eat Clean and Exercise at least 1x a day everyday for the 14 weeks...... If I get 2lbs a week GREAT if I get 3.5lbs even better. After the contest ends April 7th I am going to work on Maintaining whatever weight I reach for the rest of Spring and through the Summer ... once Summer ends about beginning, middle of October I then plan to resume my Clean eating and everyday exercise for the remainder of the year.

By doing this I am hoping to learn how to maintain my weight loss. Those of you that know me know that I am capable of losing the weight ... (100lbs) in less than 1 year (I've done that twice) once it's off I resume my bad habits and over the course of the next year I gain it all back.

Not this time!!
