Salt Lake Fit Weekly Run

Saturday, April 25, 2009

Today was our 3rd meeting for the Marathon training.....we jogged 5.14 miles...and I made it! I'm still not making progress with my weight because I keep shoveling food into my mouth, hopefully as time goes on and runs get longer I will start to make better choices and keep my portions reasonable.

I'm doing this Marathon in October even if I have to walk the whole thing.

My goal today is to log my food and stick to it!

Portland Marathon Training Day #3

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

I decided that I was going to do my training day today instead of tomorrow since the weather report says snow is in the forecast tomorrow. Today I was supposed to run 35 minutes so I mapped out 3 miles from my house and set off. When I returned it had taken me 45 minutes to complete the 3 miles. Maybe my muscles are just sore from Saturday and Sunday.

Doing this training is really helping me with my calorie intake.

Training Day #2

Sunday, April 12, 2009

Ok so today my schedule has me Marathon training for 30 min. so I mapped out my Neighborhood. I figured 30 min. would be about 2.5 miles according to what I tested at yesterday. I was really sore when I woke up this morning from yesterday but, I stretched and off I went. I'm not going to lie it was a lot harder to jog today then it was yesterday but, I did it and I feel GREAT! I still cant imagine doing the Marathon in October but, I am going to do it!

I have the next 2 days off from Marathon training so I am going to concentrate on eating right so that I feel better when I am jogging on Wednesday!

I did it!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

This morning I joined Salt Lake City Fit I paid my fee and I ran my first 3 mi. I will be in the Red group. emoticon I was really nervous going in but, I feel great and I'm glad I did it! I even surprised myself. Jogging outside is so much easier then on the Treadmill. I did my 5K today in 37 min. all this at 215 pounds with little to no exercise over the last 6 months.

During the week I have an exercise schedule to follow and then next Saturday we meet again to run 4 miles this time.

Thank you Fruityful for encouraging me to do this.. Portland Marathon here we come.

I am SOOO PROUD OF YOU for taking the plunge! Wow, 37 minutes, I'm in the red group too! Sounds like we'll be at about the same pace in the marathon, which will be nice. I'm glad you are glad that you did it. It is a totally different feeling running outside. Way to go Mrs. Honeycomb!!!!!

Portland / Salt Lake City Marathon

Thursday, April 09, 2009

I am going to take the first step this Saturday towards doing something that I never would have even thought about doing before joining Spark people. I am a point in my life where I need to do this in order to feel good about myself again. Unfortunately the SLC Marathon is in 9 days and I am not in shape to do that so I am planning a trip to Portland Oregon to visit Fruityful and run the Portland Marathon with her. We will both be training in our own city's and then meeting up for the run. I am really nervous but, excited at the same time! If all goes well she will then be coming to Salt Lake next April to run a marathon with me.
