Belly Melt Diet

Well, I searched and searched and only found one entry on SparkPeople with a mention to the Belly Melt Diet. This doesn't give me a lot of hope for it's success. I'm on day #2 of it and I'm really struggling.

It's not that I'm looking for a quick fix and easy weight loss but I have been stuck for months now. I work out almost every day (3 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on). I don't eat carbohydrates in the evening. I limit my calories. And I can't lose a pound! I'm so frustrated so I decided to try a shock to my system and see if it works.

The only problem is that this is such a shock that I am really struggling. I'm hungry all of the time, I'm exhausted, and I have a horrible headache. Essentially the Belly Melt Diet calls for you to get your body on a cycle. You sleep at least seven hours a night, before eating in the morning you do at least 20 minutes of cardio (I have been doing 30 because I normally did an hour at night), you eat six times a day (about 200 calories per meal), and you do strength training in the evening.

It doesn't seem too stringent or unorthodox. I'm not sure why my body is hating it so much. Either way, I said I would try it for five days and see what happens. I'm determined to see it through. I will weight in on Friday and see if it shifted the scale at all. I will be very discouraged if it hasn't moved at all.

Normal Weight

Today I had an amazing moment. For the first time in almost 7 years, I am in the normal weight for my height on the BMI scale. I know that weight is a number and doesn't mean everything - but this was truly a momumental day for me and I am ecstatic.

Another good moment - my size 10 Gap jeans are bagging off of me! That says it all right there! :)

For many years now I have avoided those video camera displays at the store. I look up and am shocked at the fat woman on the screen. They say the camera adds 10 pounds! ugh!
My husband and I have been working so hard at eating right and exercising since mid-December. I am so proud of him - he is down over 20 pounds and I am just about to hit the 20 pound mark.
We were in Best Buy today and I looked up at the tv monitor in the corner of the store and did a double take. I asked my husband to look up and said, "who is that skinny couple up there?"
It was us!!!!!

The Biggest Loser

So, my husband and I decided to try the Biggest Loser diet. I have been on a big plateau since I made it to the halfway mark and he needs to get started. We both have about 25 pounds to lose.

We watched the Biggest Loser - Couples and were so inspired by Ally. Not only because we are from Arizona as well and were rooting for the hometown girl, but also because she came back from elimination to kick butt! She was amazing!

So, wish us luck. I will keep you posted on our progress.

  


What it feels like.....

No one can really put into words what it feels like to fit into a smaller pair of jeans....ones you haven't worn in years - even if they aren't in style anymore; or what it feels like when someone who hasn't seen you in a month or so says, "Wow! You've lost weight!"; or what it feels like to look in the mirror and see that your boobs stick out farther than your stomach now - it's a beautiful sight!
I'm almost halfway to my goal - it's impossible to describe what that feels like either!
