Make your own lip $$$$

Thursday, August 08, 2013

emoticon I was desperately searching the Internet looking for a lip plumper that actually worked. I had wasted way too much $ on a product called "City Lips" that did nothing for me except made my lips dry. i dont really have thin lips (like the rest of me..LOL) so collegan injections would be a waste of money for sure. Al;l I wanted was some plumping of my lips for a more youthful appearance and to get back that nice flush your lips have before you hit 35. I have found a few products I am considering buying but I also came across several DIY homemade lip plumpers so I tried a few and they actually do work. the combo of ingredients/amount is up to the individual but the basic items used are a combination of cayenne pepper,cinnam0n extract/oil,and if you want wintergreen extract or spperamint. You mix this in with a basic clear lip balm (like carmex,BurtsBees,Vaseline lip treatment, etc. Mix well, and apply the balm to your lips (making sure you use a Qtip,or makeup brush so you dont touch your skin). Let sit for about 10 minutes then wipe off. The amount of heat is up to you,and be sure to wash your hands afterwards, and dont whatever you do touch your eyes. I've fund that this mixture works almost as good as the high rated lip plumpers..maybe even better. Once you get used to the tingling, you can increase the amount of pepper/cinnamon in your next batch. The results happen with in an hour and last for 2-3 hours per application. If you do this 3-4 times a day it should last all day/night. It sure is a cost effective way to do this is you dont mind slight burning/tingling sensation on your lips which most of the products do anyway. And if you get tolerant to it,or it's not working as well...just increase the amount of the ingredients.. emoticon

I am sick and tired of the SP "nutrition" tracker errors..fellow SP people,HELP ME so they fix this

Thursday, August 08, 2013

I have been keeping regular track of what I eat everyday for over a month. I also track fats, carbs, fiber, and vitamins. After I knew I had been sticking to eating healthy and then viewing my weekly report...I was wondering why my carbs/fats were so high and why my vitamin levels were extremely low. It turned out it wasn't my diet in error..but the foods listed on the "Nutrition Tracker" were wrong. It is VERY frustrating that I have to either view an average of 20-30 items to fine one with the correct information or literally manually type every single thing I eat into it ( which I dont always have the time to do). It is impacting my diet and is extremely frustrating. Plus if I dont catch the error then I'm the one who thinks I'm not doing well on my diet. I know I cant be the only one on SP with this problem. I have tr4ied sending email to SP but no response. Maybe if other people send emails too it will get their attention

Are you talking about nutrition information entered by other members?

Interesting--I've been doing this for a couple of years and have only come across a couple of items that had incomplete or incorrect information. It would be handy if there were a built-in way to report the problem.

Whenever I find a food item that is incorrect, I just enter it as a new item. I didn't know about the verify feature that SLACHETKA103145 mentioned. I also never thought of going to SP and complaining about the difference in the nutrition information. Things I'll have to keep in mind.

In addition to the original post re: the SP Nutrition Tracker I forgot to add that I have "voted" on probably over 100 food items that were incorrect, and put that "No" the item wasn't listed properly and in the comment section I put notes for someone to please edit the items. That has been useless. But thanks for the suggestion:)

what I have found is that if I use SP they are checking out correctly when I verify. When using other members, I try to verify and if I can't, I enter my own. Label ingredient changes are common so when ingredients change, foods have to be reentered.

I hope this helps. When you find one that is incorrect if you will click on the nutrition info you can use the verify can report there that it is incorrect and SP will ask you how.

Do You Have A Loved One In Jail/Prison???

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

I am hoping to find others on SP who are dealing with having a loved one/friend/family member who is currently incarcerated. I know I am not the only one going through this rough time. One of the advantages of the Internet is that you only need to reveal as much as you want know about yourself. Please if you are going through are not alone!!! I want to have a Spark Team/Message Board as a "online support group" for people who are faced with this issue. Also any ex-offenders would be welcome as well. I have been to jail several times ( even 2 stays in the infamous Maricopa County Jail in Arizona..and yes I was in "tent city" for a brief period). Due to health/personal issues I am looking for someone else to "start" the group...but I would be willing to help with what's needed. Please people don't be shy..come forward and introduce yourself!!!! emoticon
