I typed up this whole blog yesterday, but had a computer glitch which deleted it before I had a chance to post it here. So now I'm attempting it once again....here goes...
I'm asking all of you, my dear Sparkfriends, to keep my FIL in your thoughts & prayers today, as well as the rest of the family. Many of you know that he has suffered from renal cell cancer for the last several yrs. The cancer has spread pretty much all over his body now. He's a fighter, God bless him! He still goes about his business as if he were perfectly healthy & whole. He puts the rest of us to shame. Anyway, my MIL called yesterday to tell us that he was admitted to the hospital the day before (on Wed. afternoon). He had taken a pretty nasty fall earlier in the week and fractured his shoulder. On top of that, he was having so much difficulty breathing, even using his inhalers, that he decided to call the Dr. who told him to promptly go to the ER. It was discovered that he has pneumonia...again. Poor Dad! I wish there was more I could do, but God is taking care of him, so I know he is in the best possible hands.
Please add your prayers to ours for Dad's healing, whether it be a physical healing here on this earth, or a more permanent healing in his Heavenly Home with the Lord, where he wouldn't suffer any of this pain anymore. He is a mighty man of God (a pastor and missionary) and is more than ready and willing to be in the presence of His Savior anytime the Lord should call him. It's the rest of the family that would have trouble dealing with our loss.

Happy would-be birthday

Today would have been my mother's birthday...her 89th. Unfortunately, she only lived to see her 80th. She lost her battle to cancer right after the year 2000 began.
I don't want to wallow in self pity here or anything like that. Just wanted to make a note of the day.
We all miss you, Mom!!

Yesterday I found a new team on SP called "Putting On a Gentle and Quiet Spirit". It's for women who want to be part of a Bible study on I Peter through the book of the same name by Elizabeth George. I can't wait to begin! Just got my book today. Join us if you'd like to!

Sept. 11th is here once again...always a reminder of how fragile life really is & how unexpectedly things can change in the blink of an eye. Let us remember those whose lives were forever touched by the events of this day 8 yrs ago. Lift up in prayer the families who lost loved ones and friends. Let them know we care and we will never forget.

Kentucky tomorrow

WOW! Can't believe it's been a whole month since I've posted a blog entry! Oh well...it's been a busy summer & not letting up yet...which brings me to the subject of this blog.
DD & I are leaving tomorrow for a trip to KY. Our flight leaves at 1:00 p.m. & the airport is an hour away, so we'll have to leave in the a.m. That means much to do tonight!! Still packing up last minute things, as always.
Also tonight, DS is coming home. He has decided that, since he has no job now, he is moving back home at the end of the month. We're very happy about that decision, but at the same time, a bit concerned about the transition into family living again. I'm sure it'll all work out though. He is going back to college this semester at the local community college, so he can't be keeping the kind of hours he has been accustomed to for the last year or so anyway. Thank God!
Wish DS was coming to KY with us, but he has to take a placement test tomorrow in order to schedule classes, which begin on Aug. 24th.
Lots going on, as you can see...hope I can keep my fitness routine going while we're away!!
