Jumping Rope - today's feature

Sunday, June 23, 2013

OK ... so here I am ... over 250 lbs ... big breasted, hanging belly, bat wings under my arms .. thunder thighs. Me .. jump rope .... NOT LIKELY. First I'd have to figure out a way to tie down my stomach so it flop while jumping THEN aside from a sports bra ... does anyone think about getting black eyes from this venture ??? And yes, my arms would be waving and laughing at me every step of the way.

NOT a pretty site ... nope, not at all !!! emoticon

emoticon by the way, this is NOT me, there's no fat on this person :)

This is more me :)

I have to hold my stomach fat when I do jumping jacks...
I need my hands for that.
If I fastened myself into a straight jacket...maybe I could do the jump rope. LOL!
Good for you that you are able to do this!

I'd be thrilled if I could find a sports bra that actually offered support for a large busted woman. All the ones in the stores around here are A or B cups, with a rare C cup. My last bra fitting was for an H cup. I definitely need to try them on, so trying to shop for them online is just a joke.

I actually love jumping rope (even when I was 235 lbs - but, well, I've never had big breasts) - rough on the back, knees, feet, though. Had to give it up due to degeneratings disks. But it's great exercise, and fun!

Here's to the start of what I hope to be a great week. Had my 3 yr old granddaughter all last week (my son and family were moving) then starting Thursday evening I also had her 7 yr old sister (since her school ended that day). It's been an interesting week, to say the least. Those 2 young ladies WORE ME OUT !!!

Our huge garden is in and for the most part, doing great. We put cardboard then mulch on top of that for the walkways around the garden (yes, it's that big emoticon )

I'm still transplanting flowers from the other house (in fact, I still have more flowers to dig up over there and bring over here and figure out WHERE to plant them !!).

I'm trying to use my BodyMedia Link band every day ... with these bat wings that I have under my arms, it's either digging into my arms or sliding down my arm, I can't win. I also can't figure out how it figures out the exercise portion emoticon

Hmmmm think that's about it for today. I did make a gallon jug of water with a cut up lemon, cut up lime and a lot of mint leaves (don't have any cucumbers to put into it yet).

OK ... 4:54 and I'm going to chill ... I know hubby is going to ask me what's for dinner again. Ummmm well, I was working along side you for most of the day, outside and also keeping an eye on 2 young ladies, so you tell me, what's for dinner ... yep that'll go over emoticon

Bored or hungry ?

Saturday, June 01, 2013

Watch the clock. When was the last time you had something to eat? Hunger cycles peak approximately every 90 minutes.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
---------------
Can you tell the difference between a craving, and actual hunger? A craving means you want a particular taste. True hunger, on the other hand, does not create an unavoidable discomfort in your belly as most people think, it creates a sensitivity in your throat and mouth along with increased salivation. Sensations of lightheadedness or stomach churning are your body's attempt to get finished with your last meal, not a cry for more food!
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
------------------
Are you hungry or thirsty? Thirst can be mistaken for hunger. Drink a glass of water then wait a few minutes and see if the desire to eat subsides.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
------------------
Are you really hungry or just bored? At times, for lack of anything better to do, some people snack. This is usually due to a craving, rather than hunger. When you find yourself wandering for food, try to do something that's not food-related to hold your attention.
Eating candy can help, but not gum, as that can make you prematurely hungry.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
------------------
Are you really hungry or just tired? Being tired can create a sensation in or around your midsection, which can be mistaken for hunger. If it's late, go to bed. Definitely, avoid eating heavily before going to sleep for a variety of reasons:
It can aggravate gastro-esophageal reflux disease and leave you with burning indigestion - very unpleasant.
It can make your sleep too warm, which disturbs the quality of your rest.
If you're really hungry before bed, consider a small bowl of cereal and milk.
Try two small cookies (Oreo size) and a 6-oz. glass of 1% or skim milk.
Milk contains tryptophan, which can aid with sleep.
A couple of cookies or a little cereal will not create a calorie nightmare.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-----------------------
Determine how much you have exercised. Exercising will have the immediate effect of depressing your appetite, but after about an hour, you will feel that you have "worked up" an appetite.
Consider taking a walk or going for a bicycle ride if you're feeling hungry and it's way too soon to eat.
Exercise may help to suppress your appetite until a more appropriate time.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-----------------------
Analyze your body's signals. You may have real hunger and need a snack if:
You feel a gnawing in the pit of your stomach.
You feel a little nauseous.
Your stomach is making noises straight out of Star Wars.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-------------------
Stave off hunger until mealtime. Even if it isn't meal time, it's better for your body if you don't allow it to feel starved.
Try a slice of cheese and some fruit.
Have a hard-cooked egg.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-------------------
Eat a protein along with a carb. This will regulate your blood sugar and keep you on track.
Try a protein shake in the morning or lunch time. It may provide you with a lot of energy without bloating you. Some folks also prefer "meal substitute" shakes but a regular protein shake with water or milk will do just fine.
Eat an apple along with a little cheese.
----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-------------------
TIPS*****
Overeating may occur if:
You wait too long between meals.
You get a large plate. People tend to eat what's on the plate no matter how many calories it is.
You eat in the company of others.
You consider the food free or already paid for (e.g. in a dinner invitation or in a buffet).
You eat mainly energy-dense, low-residue food.
