Yesterday was a good day for me. I ate healthy, kept my caloric intake down, and drank at least 8 glasses of water. Went to the gym for the first time in a year and worked on the elliptical trainer for 25 minutes. I was going for 30, but figured I would stop when the room started spinning. But wonder of all wonders...I am not even a little sore today! It felt so good to be back in the gym!
You see, a year ago I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease which affects your thyroid, but instead of making it under-active it makes it over-active. My blood pressure and heart rate were elevated, I had no tolerance for heat and was trembling so bad it looked like I had Parkinsons. Anyway, my endocrinologist immediately stopped me from doing any kind of excercise until my thyroid was under control. We eventually had to do radiation on it to kill it, but I am feeling a hundred percent better.
Today I am looking for a repeat of yesterday. We have a meeting with one of the trainers at the gym this afternoon to get individualized workout programs in place for both of us. I am so excited! More tomorrow on how that goes...
