Day 19 & 20

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

I received this quote as a tweet today and it made such a great impact that I made it into a photo to share with everyone.

Yesterday was the cardio burst video and bowling. I am getting better at the boxing routine but it is still difficult. I never thought of myself as uncoordinated but I really have trouble getting the arms and legs correct but I keep trying and eventually I will get it down. I also bowled last night and the team we bowled was one of the better teams so it was really fast paced.

Today was the total body challenge. This was a great work out.

When I received this tweet, I thought that it was okay. But then I got thinking about it more. We have a tendency to think about yesterday and not living in the moment. Our thoughts can be either good or bad but they don't help us meet our goals today.

One thing a lot of people don't know about Babe Ruth that even though he was the home run king he was also the strike out king because he always was hitting for the home run. Are you swinging for the fence or playing it safe?

Yes I agree we do seem to constantly think of yesterday; maybe we could have done better etc. We need to focus more on being in the moment. I am going great and tomorrow will be better.

Day 17 & Day 18

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Yesterday was a day of rest.

Today was the tone and burn workout. Today I seemed to have the routine down and so it was easier to do the workout.

My motivational saying: Today is a new starting point. Begin!

This is something that Spark has taught me that no matter what has happened in the past is in the past. This really hits home for me since I have a tendency for perfection and when things go wrong I dwell on it.

As long as I keep moving and not quit I will reach my goals. emoticon

Yes, it is the 'keep moving' bit that reaches the goals. Love the motivational quote and you followed through on it. emoticon

Yes, I always thought I had to be "perfect" and the results have been so much better when I let that thought go... emoticon

Day 16 total body challenge

Friday, November 16, 2012

Today was definitely a work out. I am glad that the video has the time as you are working out so you know how long you have left.

Going into this day I know that it was going to be challenging from the comments everyone had posted. And I have to admit it was some of the moves where hard especially the shoulder moves. As I was going through I told myself to just go as long as I could. At one point at about the 15 minute time I said just 5 more minutes and then I got my second wind and was able to finish the whole video.

After I was done, I checked my calendar and this was my inspirational quote for the day: "You're better than good. You're great!"

What a validation to keep up and finish the workout.

Day 15

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Today was a great day. I did the cardio workout. This afternoon I had to run into Springfield to drop off a package at Fed Ex. I decide that since it was such a nice day to find a park and add a walk to my program.

I found a nice park with a walking path. It was the Phelps Grove Park. It has a nice 7/10 of a mile walking path with lots of trees.

I think I will look for different parks to walk each time I go into Springfield.

Another thing that I have done to keep me motivated is that I have added an inspirational statement to my calendar on my phone. That was I get a reminder everyday to keep my focus on my goal to live a healthy lifestyle.

Today's statement is "Take a break. You owe it to yourself!" Which is why I decided to take a walk at the park, I had other things to do but I have to admit that I felt so refreshed after the walk that it was definitely worth the time I took.

I think your quest for walking trails at different Springfield parks is right on!

How did you add the inspirational statement to your phone calendar? I would like that!

Day 14

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Today was the last day for week 2. I can't believe that it has already been two weeks since I started this program. Short Cardio Sculpt routine again. The routine is getting a little easier in that I am getting the movements down but it is still a great work out. I am still doing most of the beginner moves but with consistency hope to be able to move up to the medium movements shortly.

I received a tweet this morning with a quote from Napoleon Hill: "Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success."

This quote reminds me of the lessons we learn here on Spark People. It we work at our healthy lifestyle we will meet our goals.

I love how if is the small steps that lead to the bigger steps and as long as we keep moving forward we will reach the finish line.
