Happy Monday to all you lovely people! I know Monday is the worst day to everyone - I had to drag myself outta my soft as a cloud, cozy bed this morning. Nick was still snoozing away since he doesn't have to be into work till 8:00.
So, the big news of the week...I COMPLETED MY 10K!! Woo HOO!!! I completed a little over an hour and I didn't stop running for one second except to speed walk while I tried to drink a Dixie cup of water. I was sort of disappointed they only were passing out water to us runners, cause I could have really used some gatorade. I was one dehydrated girl, and I had the dried white spit on my lips to prove it, Hehe! The course itself was great- FLAT! There were a good number of people at the event overall. About 2500, and I'd say more than half of them ran the 5K that started before the 10K. I kept pretty good pace and towards the end it payed off. I wasn't too tired, I wasn't outta breath, BUT my right foot had an injury. My 2nd toe (next to the big toe), was bleeding from underneath the nail. I have ALWAYS had issues with his toe when I run no matter what shoe I wear. It's my dads toes and it's actually longer than all of the other ones. So that last 1.2 miles, every time my foot hit the pavement, I could feel the blood, BLAH! Another eventful happening, is my left hip/leg area had the making of a massive charlie horse, but did I stop? NO! Why? Because #1, I knew we were going to breakfast after the race and I wanted me a veggie omelet, and #2, I only had 1.2 miles to go, and I just couldn't stop then. It was Extremely rewarding crossing that finish line, hearing the announcer call my name (then hearing my sister, mom, niece and Nick cheer), and knowing what I had just accomplished. I gave my all and that's all I expected out of myself :)
Before going to bed last night, my leg/hip was cramping up still, so I took a hot shower, took 2 extra strength Tylenol, and went to bed. This morning I was SO stiff and my leg is still giving me grief. You can bet your bottom dollar I am going to keep it numb with some more Tylenol today while at work.
On other weekend news, Nick and I went over to my parents house to celebrate my sisters birthday, with a nice lobster and steak dinner and homemade lemon miraunge pie, mmmmm!!
We are supposed to hear about Nick's job this week! I thought we'd be hearing last week, but this is the for sure week we hear something, EEEEEK!! He does so well at his job, and he gets recognized for so many things. He deserves this!
10k baby- DONE! That was my new years resolution, and I've already checked it off my list. Now I am going to focus on getting my body summer ready aka BIKINI ready!!!

* WARNING - THIS POST IS A BIT OF A VENT FOR MOI*
So this must be said and it's been on my mind the last few days .... I really need to kick it into high gear. It's almost my time of the month, so I know it has to do with how I've been feeling, but I honestly feel like the biggest blimp in the world. I am shocked that Weight Watchers hasn't asked me to be their new spokeswoman (Jennifer Hudson looks GORGEOUS btw).
Anyways, I can't say I've fallen off the wagon, because I've been walking every day for 3 miles during my lunch with the girls from my work, and Nick and I went to the gym yesterday and I did 3 miles on Tread, and my eating hasn't been thaaaaaaaaaaaat bad. Just kinda bad. Not bad stuff, just too much of the good stuff (and sour skittles). I think this is why the 10K on Sunday is freaking me out. Because the last time I ran a high mileage, was on Saturday. Another thing I think that is adding to my "Karli, your so fat" mentality is how my much my workouts have cut down. I used to go 5 times a week! Last week, I did horribly and did 3 times and even then I could only do 35 minutes at the gym (barely enough time for me to get in a decent workout). I know I'm being super hard on myself, but it's because I know that I can do better, so I give myself a hard time.
Another thing - I'm losing my tan & this California girl is not happy about it.what.so.ever! Yeah I've been using the self tanning lotion, but I miss the tanning bed! It gave me such an even tan. I was reminded of this when I got out of the shower tonight and gave myself a quick glance in the mirror, when HELLO! MY BACK HAS BEEN IGNORED IN THE COLOR DEPARTMENT. Yup - I have been neglecting that area (I can't reach it and I don't wanna ask Nick) when I put on my lotion stuff. I actually talked to Nick about this the other night and since we have "allowances" now for ourselves each month, I have decided I am going to buy some tans. Not a unlimited package, just some tans that fit into my budget. I won't go everyday, probably 2-3 times a week and then in the summer I don't plan on using the beds since my apartment has a really nice pool area with plenty of sun chairs, and my parents have a pool. The weekends during the summer, I plan on parking it out by either one of those places with a stack of magazines and a nice big bottle of h20 and my shades. The lotion is a great product though, and I will continue to use it until I buy some tans (probably next weekend).
So yes - that is my downer post, but I really need to kick my butt into high gear. Since my workouts have cut down (due to my job and me wanting to spend more time with Nick since we only see each other after work and in the AM's for 10 minutes), I had decided to only go Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with him. BUT - for my own sanity, I HAVE to include Monday. Yes, I will miss Nick for that 1.5 hours, but I have to sweat more than 3 days a week. So, on top of mine and his workouts together, I will either choose the treadmill or X Bike. To be honest, it'll probably be both due to the state of whale I am in (mentally- I know, Im not a whale). I get off at work at 4:00. Mondays my plan will be: come home, change IMMEDIATELY!, grab a snack (bread with 1 tblspn almond butter), be at the gym by no later than 5:00, do treadmill for 1 hour *or split time between treadmill and abs/back strength training*, then elliptical for some other workout until 6:30. When 6:30 hits- XBIKE! I hate it from the time I walk in, until 2 minutes before the instructor says its time to cool down. It's a killer workout, that gives amazing results! And THAT will be my Monday. It's all about the sweat baby...if you don't sweat, you ain't workin it!

I feel so lucky to be SMOTM!!! I hope everyone enjoys coming to my page because I know I am addicted to surfing around everyone elses! I couldn't have done what I am did and am currently doing w/out the help of Sparkpeople.

So I am about to sign up for a 10K and 3 5K's for 2010! What what?! This girl is on fiya'! I am so excited yet so nervous. I know I will just train my butt off for a 6 miler, and I'll be okay, but still- EEEK!! Wish me luck!
PS- Nick and I moved into our apartment and I am back to fast speed internet. Next step is getting back into tracking calories. Oh and some awesome news?! I have made it to my goal weight since being in Cali. 155 ladies :) Ay -O!

Hello beautiful sparkers!!!
I have been away for a good couple of months now and NOT by my own choice. Nick and I are still living at my parents house saving the moolah and the internet connection here sucks, so going onto spark and logging my calories every day just isn't practical....BUT we are getting a place the 1st weekend of January, yay!!! So internet and tracking the calories will be back up and running :D
I have missed you all so so so much and looking at everyone's pages it looks like you have all done awesome things in the past couple of months! I am amazed by some of the progress I've seen. As for me: I have stayed on track! I haven't counted my calories like I should be, but I know about how many calories things have in them, so its not too bad. I'm still lifting and running my heart out and I will be running a 5K Turkey Trot in my area on Thursday :D
