While googling for nutrition values of Admiral Maine Sardines in Mustard Sauce, I found this GEM! Couldn't figure out where I could put this in a forum on one of my spark groups so I decided to blog it.

This has plenty of info - things about Refueling after a workout, Sleep, etc. emoticon

I downloaded it to read later but I thought I would share my find, LOL.

Happy results from consult at the VA Hospital!

In July I switched from a male healthcare professional to a female one. I am hardly ever sick and this was my annual exam. Well my new Dr after getting done with my PAP told me I had a prolapse uterus. I asked how can it be fixed ~ surgery and something else and then there's KEGELs.

Now this all took place a few months for I got motivated to lose the weight. a few years ago I had a consultation for those annoying little leaks and that option was surgery also.

I didn't want to do surgeries because I still have to care for my son.

Anyway fast f orward - I got the motivation to lose weight at the end of September. I found as I lost the weight and body fat that my annoying little leaks disappeared~ Yippee!

I asked my female dr about fixing the prolapse uterus back in February and was setup with a consultation for today - 3 hours away at the Little Rock VA hospital. Appt. time 1:30pm - So I made arrangements for my BFF to pick up my son at school and take care of him til I could return home.

Arrived 45 mins early - found the Women's Health Clinic - this was only my 2nd time in that area. Talked to lady behind the counter. Not friendly at all or welcoming. Told me to check in at the kiosk with my VA card. After I was seen - asked her again if they handled the Travel Pay paper work or was I supposed to turn it in. She points to some inbox trays and asked if I had filled out the form. DUH! So I filled out the form and she told me to lay it facedown in another tray!

Okay my appointment - Nice friendly female came and got me - weighed and took my blood pressure - took me to a room and told me to only undress the lower half and use the cotton sheet provided to cover up. Then I had a young male came in and took a medical history for verification. This is when I found there was a TEAM coming to check me out. So he goes out to consult with the TEAM then he, a young female and the nurse came in to start the examination. The young female did the examination (& a PAP) and I think the young male was a student.

Anyway there is good news - I don't have a prolapse uterus!!! Everything is A OKAY. So I am assuming that losing some of the belly fat took care that issue too!

Sorry if I put TMI ~ I am just thrilled that I don't need surgeries for 2 issues. But She also suggested KEGELs and I told her there's an APP for that. She says there is and I got my phone out and showed them both. She was thrilled it was free! SO I guess I have to make time for that too!

    That is wonderful news. I'm so glad it all turned out so well for you. My hubby goes to Poplar Bluff VA and they are always so nice & helpful there. I have heard good & bad things on Little Rock VA.

LOL there's an APP for everything now.

Adventures in Walking ....

Well I added walking into my daily routine on 4/4/14. I have been faithfully walking each day atleast 50-53 minutes which is about 2.55 miles.

My gluts are still sore as well as my thighs but I don't mind - means I am working it! I use a walking stick to help push me uphill. I had been using my cellphone for music but today I used a radio with earplugs. Good thing because I needed to charge up my phone and I really didn't want to walk without music.

I almost didn't walk today because I had been out of the house from 9:30am to 2:45pm. I had gone to a dr. appt then to one walmart to get 3 shirts for my friends & I to wear ~ more on that later. Then to dollar tree and then on to the other walmart closer to my home to get some groceries, son's prescription. By the time I got home I was exhausted. I waited til my son got home from school and out the door I went walking stick in hand and music around my neck.

Now about those shirts. I have to BFFs and one is having a birthday on Friday. We girls try to have lunches at Chilis every so often. On our birthdays we try to get together and we wear a t-shirt we have decorated and date it, etc. So I went and decided on NEON ORANGE out of the men's dept. And we will decorate them before we go to Chilis.

A little history - Over a year ago our picture was on 2 Chilis menus. I had entered a contest and won a $50 chilis card. I promptly took my friends out to lunch. We each have one of the menus. We signed one of the menus so our local Chilis could frame it and hang it. Our local Chilis loves us!

And I will take my walk on Friday before I get ready for that birthday celebration! It's also my weigh & measure day.

In the lower left hand corner is our picture in the Chilis FB page and along with others were on their Twitter page for awhile. emoticon emoticon

I have increased my walking by parking my car farther from where I enter any building/store, etc. but that is just like normal everyday walking.

Today I made an effort to walk around my subdivison.

Several reasons pushed this effort:
1. I need to tone up my lower body so when I tightened up my gluts I don't see all the wrinkles, or all the loose skin on the legs

2. I maintained the weight I had at last week's weigh-in and the same measurements.

I did 34 minutes of walking. I even had to walk a few feet backwards because a male friend called and some of the time he couldn't hear me because of the wind! I had started this walk at 4pm because he usually calls at 6pm. So that was a surprise for me and it was probably a surprise to him that I was outside walking instead of attached to my computer. emoticon

I am glad I started emoticon of my outside walking. My gluts are sore!

The most emoticon event happened! I got a new used vehicle Thursday! A church member who knew I needed a more reliable vehicle kept mentioning it to a local American Legion Post! They had been given a vehicle about 5 months ago from a member's estate with the stipulation that it be given to a vet. There was a vet who was supposed to get it but he could never get a license! So finally they to told him to call me on Tuesday. I had to show my DD 214, proof of insurance. I got it registered, accessed for Personal Property taxes and a Military Airforce Vet license plate. Registration was paid for.

It's a 1996 silver Chrysler LHS with CD player/Cassette Player, garage kept except for the past 5 months and only has a little over 55,000 miles. I had to replace windshield wipers, get 4 new tires to replace originals. Need to get it an alignment ~ the alignment shop tried but my left tie rod wouldn't budge. So I happily went to auto parts store and ordered those parts!! Next up will be an oil change and wiper arm tension adjusted! I am still keep my 1995 minivan to haul stuff and go to the lake (I just recently replaced the fuel pump & filter).

I have been faithfully trying to keep on track with a few slips. I still have a chocolate craving which that is okay as long as I don't go HOG WILD!

I am still losing weight and some inches! I have lost 37.5 lbs and can fit into a size 18 jeans. Will be going thru my BIG clothes to donate ~ definitely helps with decluttering my home

I have made a decision to take the steps necessary to get my prolapsed uterus fixed and have a consult in April at VA. I am praying the consult will find that the problem is still minor and won't require too much of a surgery! Losing my belly fat is definitely a PLUS in the right direction to help with that.

Having some good friends who are willing take care of my teenage son when I can't be at home.

I Thank GOD everyday for what he has given and will give to my family & I (good & bad because there is a reason it was given even if it is never revealed to us)!
