Getting stronger every day

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I feel a little better. My cough is looser every day. And I was able to do my weekly errands in town today without getting worn out. So things are slowly improving.

I'm still getting my exercise in faithfully.

And I'm still fighting real hunger. I know I'm not getting in enough protein again. I missed lunch today. Oops.

Being sick is sure no fun
When you see germs you ought to run!
So next time 'fore you get the flu,
Run, run, run, it won't catch YOU !

Lame I know! Just hope it made you laugh!
Hang in there!!

Sick again

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Still sick here but my cough is much looser. I now sound like of one of those old prune-faced biddies with the yellow teeth and yellow fingers who smoke a couple packs of Kools a day. I have all of the side effects of smoking while not smoking. LOL.

My son's head is totally clogged and his throat is swollen and sore. He's losing his voice.

Rather than resting, which I'm allergic to, I decided to start a big project - stir up more dust and make myself sicker. I started spring cleaning. LOL. Yes, I'm insane.

I'm getting in my exercise and I'm still fighting off cravings. My blood sugar is a little wacky from the infection.

Wow, you ARE allergic to rest if you're spring cleaning while you're sick (lol). I don't know if I'm impressed or shocked! Take care and hope you feel better real soon! emoticon

Hey, if you've got the energy to clean then go for it. A bit of sweat does wonders for getting rid of the last of the booger monsters. Just take it easy, eh. I need you to save some of that spunk for the job you're gonna do on my place when you are done over there.

Cheaters Never Win

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I'm still sick. Feeling blah. I'm mildy hot and have a productive cough.

I'm still managing to get in my exercise but it's gruesome.

The bad thing - I cheated today. I'm not one to worry too much about an occasional controlled cheat but today I had A McDonald's M&M McFlurry. Egads!!! This is the worst thing I've ever had to put on my food log. It wasn't worth the money or the calories. I knew it had a ton of calories but the carbs and fat were off the charts. I'm not sure why I went along with this. It was my husband's idea. I may have to beat him. LOL. Back on plan tomorrow!!!!

Watch the cardio if you have a chest cold.

I hear you - I've been on a chocolate binge lately but today is a new day for both of us! We will get ourselves back on track and return to the beach where we know what we're doing and how to be successful!

My husband's idea was to buy me a double bacon cheeseburger from Burger King today. Is there a full moon?!

    Monty, don't despair!

About two weeks ago I went to a burger place highly praised by Oprah as the best burger in the US. Well, to make a long story short, I ate normal but I had enough calories, carbs and fat to get me going for at least three days!!! Try entering: nachos, cheese dip, mozarella sticks, burger, fries w/ cheese dip (salivating as a Pavlovian dog as I type) AND key lime pie. Mind you, all washed down the hatch with Diet Coke. How ironic. :)

Your little McBluffy doesn't stand a chance near my McFeast, girfriend!

You've been doing a great job, you're sick, give yourself a break. We all have our McEffups from time to time! Yours wasn't even a supersized one!

Hope you feel better soon!

P.S. Give Rico a little squeeze for me. :)

I still have my blasted cold. It's descended into my freakin ears and my friggin lungs. LOL. My son is doing worse than me. Honking like a goose.

I'm still able to get in my exercise by pacing myself but I had to start my breathing medicine which will make weight loss nearly impossible right now. Sooooooooooooo my goal is damage control. I'll try to maintain my weight and ride this out.

In the mean time, it's still boogers and now honkers. LOL.

Oh, man. It sounds like you are going through what I did last summer. I was sick for weeks and just couldn't get a handle on it. Yah, damage control is about all you can do. Comfort eating won't help you get over the cold, either. It didn't help me, so learn from my mistake. Hang in there sister.

The Sloth and the Roadrunner

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Today my husband has been as busy as a bee. He seems to be here, there, and everywhere working on project after project after project. Every time I would go outside to check on him he was off in another direction. He connected a TV in the pole barn. He aired up the tires on his truck. He was watering our transplants. He fertilized out lettuce. He was gathering up some pieces of wood for some project. He planted a lilac by the pond. He dug up some kind of invasive pond weeds. He was in the garden setting up a cold frame and transferring some transplants into it. On and on.

I, on the other hand, am looking around to see if I accomplished anything today. I know I must have done something besides tidy up the chinchilla cages, sweep the floor, run the dishwasher, and fix meals but nothing comes to mind. I feel like a sloth. LOL.

The weird part about this is that it's usually the other way around. I am really handicapped by this cold but tomorrow is another day. I'm going to morp into the Roadrunner. Catch me if you can. Meep. Meep.
