Good Day

Thursday, August 20, 2009

It's late but I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm feeling much improved and had a good day today. It cooled off and that helped a lot. Some of my symptoms are completely gone.

Forgot To Tell You

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

The other day it was miserably hot here and I was frying like an egg on a hot sidewalk. I started missing the swimming pool I had when I was married to my first husband. I'm glad he's gone but that pool was sure nice.

Wonderful memories.....................I would put some sunglasses on my Scottie and put him on one raft and I would get on the other and we would float for hours on end. He liked to eat Popsicles and ice cream while floating. He didn't have to worry about his weight back then so he ate the premium, full fat, loaded sugar stuff.

He was quite the man about town. The car hops at the local Maid Rite knew him by name and when we would pull up to order they would ask, "What does Beekus want today? Does he want ice cream?" He would yap in the affirmative. The car hop girls were quite taken with him and he knew it.

So, anyway, last week I just up and decided to buy myself a new pool. Yep, I did..................... You can see a picture of it on my sparkpage in my goodies section. LOL.

Don't hate me because I'm rich and beautiful. emoticon emoticon

We had a pool when the kids were younger, just a small above ground pool. But they loved it and I have great memories of them being in it all day and coming out looking like prunes LOL Enjoy your pool, you deserve it. emoticon

On plan

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

I am feeling a little better today. I wish I could have stayed home but it was my day to go to town and do my errands and shopping. My son went with me for a change as I'm not back to 100%. Plus my car is acting up. He had things to do in town anyway.

While I did my thing he got a hair cut, a bank draft, some allergy medicine, and some new sunglasses. We went to the postoffice, newspaper office, bank, and to 3 grocery stores. It was a short day. We managed to make it back home by 1 P.M. and ate lunch at home.

I ate on plan and got my exercise in. I'm stronger today and only had a mild headache. Things are really looking up.

Too Pooped To Pop

Monday, August 17, 2009

I'm still feeling icky but I had a lot to do today.

It was miserable outside so I did my outdoor chores as soon as possible and it was still horrible. I went for a hike on my trail while outside because I knew I would not do it later in the day. Too hot!!

It was time to do a through cleaning of the 6 chinchilla cages. Some cage cleaning days the 9 of them are good. Not today. LOL. Someone must have been in heat. Rico Suave, our alpha male, decided to jump on my back. He constantly wanted me to hold him and snuggle. Bun, Wheeler, and Squeaker acted like they had been snacking on caffeine. Wheeler was wrapped around my arm like a bracelet. LOL. The 3 of them took turns spronging at me like Face Huggers. Porkie and Baxter decided to seriously hump my arm. Baxter also wanted to bite me in the chest. Runtster was calmer than usual but he wanted to get in my face and smell my hands. Blocker decided she wanted to come out too. Blocker is weird. She likes to sit on your lap and bite you. LOL. Stinker was wheeling wildly while I tried to clean the cage. Needless to say, it took us longer than usual to get done. LOL.

I also had to vacuum and my son and I cleaned the bathroom. I changed the bed linens and did 4 loads of laundry. Loaded and ran the dishwasher. I stayed on plan for breakfast and lunch and then I made a big bowl of slaw, a big bowl of pickled cucumbers and some homemade chicken soup for supper. The soup got rid of my sore throat for a while at least. My fever blister is starting to heal.

I decided to take it easy after supper. LOL.

You need to take it easy. Gargle warm salt water and it will help your sore throat like the soup did. Don't do so much or you'll be sick a long time.

Hot and Cold

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Thanks for all your support. We are hanging in there.

It's muggy and hot so I'm not tolerating the outdoor chores all that well. It takes me twice as long to get things done. But otherwise I'm not doing too bad. For one thing hubby turned the air conditioner down to 60 degrees and we are sitting under that most of the time. LOL. You could keep raw meat in here.

I talked hubby into going for three short 15 minute hikes. We felt like we were dying but we made it. We ran back to the meat locker as fast as we could get there. LOL.

Hubby is improving some too. His appetite is poor and he isn't eating well though. Our diet is out the door today as I am trying to get him to eat whatever he will eat. We ate on plan for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I thought things were going to go well until he insisted on a Blizzard for supper. I was opposed but he insisted and we all had a small one. My husband told my son to enjoy it because it would be the last one we had for a very long time. It did break my fever so it was a mixed bag.

The meat locker sounds like something my hubby would do. In the winter, I have to wear a sweater and slippers all the time.
I don't know about the hiking thingy, when I'm sick, I don't do anything I don't want to do..I hope you guys get better soon. Maybe a doctor would help? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hope your fever has broken and that you are all feeling better. I don't have air con and it is because I always get asthma and so does my son, so we just sweat it out when it is hot.
I jsut wanted to say get well to you all.
Go easy onthe hiking until you are really well.
ciao. emoticon

OK...hiking with a just amaze me!!

And oh my gosh....I have been calling our house a meat locker for years!!! How funny is that. My hubby turns the air on the first day of spring that it hits 70 degrees and we leave it on for the rest of the summer! He cannot stand being too hot. I posted a blog a while ago that had the kids covered up in a blanket in June - because they were cold! Oh, well.
