I hope this makes sense as I'm tired and sick or is it sick and tired? LOL.
Monday was sunny and 45 but it seemed kind of chilly. I was tired from having a weekend with no rest and I had lots of stuff around the house to catch up on Monday too. I was getting kind of cranky that day and was fighting a "woe is me" mindset. I don't usually allow myself to have this kind of attitude as I'm a glass full kind of person but I was not feeling well and I am physically and mentally tired of the continuous stress in my life. I was trying to catch a bug. On Monday my run of bad luck seemed to run out for a while though. No, everything wasn't perfect but everything wasn't wrong either. For one thing the vet finally called me back and made an appointment for my chinchillas to see him......................the next day. So I had to get busy getting ready plus getting caught up on all the daily chores.
It was really warm on Tuesday. My son was off work so he agreed to go with me to help me take the chinchillas to the vet. After breakfast and getting Bun, Blocker, and Squeaker in their pet carriers we took off a little after 9 and arrived there after 11. My son drove part of the way. The chinchillas appointments were at 11:30. We thought at least 2 of them would need surgery and when he examined them all 3 of them needed it but at least he had time to do it. It was a long day as the exotic vet waiting room is a small room with concrete walls and windows so high you can't see out of them. I felt like a caged animal. I cleaned out my purse and worked on bills. My son ended up with a stomach ache as we ate KFC for lunch and we are not used to it. I was sick all day, even before I ate the KFC, due to an unstable blood sugar as I was still trying to get physically sick with a virus. I'm sure the vet thought I was goofy as I was having a hypoglycemic attack when he was talking to me. Anyone who has had one of these knows what I'm talking about. Bun had major teeth problems plus two bad teeth that were loose and displaced and they had to be pulled plus her incisors trimmed. Blocker had less damage but some bleeding gums from a partially broken tooth. He removed the broken part and trimmed her molars. Squeaker had the least damage - her molars needed trimmed. The doctor finished with surgery a little after 3 and we paid our bill and got out of there before 3:30 and rush hour. We then headed back to Illinois. We veered off south to Belleville to the Crossing as I needed to get some supplies from Petsmart and then we headed to Fairview Heights to get a stainless steel bath pole caddy at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We picked up a Primal Cookbook from Barnes and Noble there and then went to the second Petsmart in O'Fallon. We didn't have time to go to Sam's. I was still a mess and when we stopped in Okawville to put some oil in the car my son had to drive the rest of the way home. We arrived after my hubby did. He was cleaning up the boat. I fixed supper immediately. I took care of my sick babies. Blocker is tough as nails and she ate snacks right away as soon as I got home. Bun was mad as a hornet but she tried to eat some. Poor little squeaker was pitiful, drooling a lot and in pain. She tried to eat too though. Hubby and I went for a walk. Our periwinkle is blooming. He put the bath caddy together in the bathroom. Hubby is really picky but he approved of it.
Wednesday it was warm. I was pretty exhausted but needed to get my errands and shopping done for the week. I made breakfast and fed the chinchillas and all 3 of my puny girlies ate though they are still miserable. I got 4 bills ready to pay and went to the post office and found 2 more in my box which didn't thrill me. It must have been an off day in the universe because tons of people were rude. One of the extra bills required a trip to our Dish provider to pay the bill and when I got there she was on the phone with some rude person who would not let her get off even though she told them more than once that she had a customer to wait on. The other bill required a trip to the DMV. Do I hate this place or what!!?? No other customer was there but do you think they would wait on me??? NO!! A new good looking girl had just started working there that day and she was telling her life history while the other DMV men sat in rapture uttering lame conversation extenders like. "You don't mean that you are kin to Pooter?" "Yes, Pooter and I are first cousins." "OMG!! You are actually kin to Pooter!" "Yes, on my mother's side!" "Old Pooter. How is he doing?" .....................Good grief. If I had a cousin nicknamed Pooter I don't know that I would admit it. I hated to break up this important conversation and was about ready to ask, "Are you Pooter lovers open for business today???!!!!!" Finally the female waited on me but she never said a single word to me the entire time she waited on me. She continued with her and Pooter's life history. One of the men disassociated himself from the Pooter rapture as he has worked there for years and this DMV has been reported tons of time for every conceivable infraction. He knows enough to realize that this Pooter crap was a no-no. This is why I try to go to one of the other DMVs that are further away usually as they are more professional. I went to get the newspapers and talked briefly to my friend there. I made a deposit at the bank. Then went to Aldis, Wal-mart, Kroger, and the meat market and got groceries. The checker at Wal-mart was rude too - the man before me made her angry so she was tossing my groceries in the bag like she was drop kicking them. No organization. Packages of meat dripping blood all over other packaged goods. Lettuce at the bottom of the bag with a melon on top of it. Eggs at the bottom of the bag too with a cauliflower on top. I was at the end of the aisle trying to repack the bags and clean up dripping blood and I was not a happy camper. She is lucky she didn't get drop kicked. " Blood bath in aisle 4" - I'm referring to the clerk that I was thinking of beating to a pulp. I thought about calling for the manager and showing him how my bags had been packed. Grrrrr!! I came home and my son had not left for work yet so he helped me get the stuff inside. I then put it all away and had the chinchilla food to put away from the day before. I started supper and my hubby called. He had heard from his brother's legal guardian. I got 9 calls from 2 until 4:45 related to the estate. That does not include the ones I had to make. It was exhausting and I was getting a fever blister and a fever and G.I. problems and I felt like screaming and squalling at the same time. I had to get the trash burned, Baby fed, the compost taken out, etc. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get supper fixed by 5. I guess I looked completely wrung out like a dish rage when my hubby got home because he knows how hard I have been working lately and he looked at me and started to tear up. He said he hasn't praised me enough and he has been cranky. Who wouldn't be. I told him not to worry about it - that I'm in his corner like he is mine. We went for a walk and saw a ton of deer. I had to type a bunch of emails he dictated for the estate.
Thursday I awakened and it was 59 degrees. I literally dragged myself out of bed at 6. It was supposed to be light but was fairly dark and kept getting darker and it started to get windy and pour rain and the temp dropped 5 degrees in a couple minutes. It plummeted and ended up at 45 within 15 minutes and then gradually dropped to 43. I felt like dog dookie all day. I got my work done and managed to fix 3 decent meals but I didn't feel like it. Between rains I went outside and did my chores, mainly because I wanted to feed Baby. I knew she would be waiting for me and she was in the pouring rain. The crows tried to get to the food first but she hustled down there to get it when I called her. She knew they were after it and she and I were both not in the mood to have her food stolen. I put food out for the crows too in a different area but they want it all. I had work to do inside too and had to empty overflowing waste cans, sweep the floors, spot clean the pet cages, hand feed the sick post op girlies, unload and reload the dishwasher, and make 3 meals. I can't sleep during the day but I laid around some. I have two fever blisters now. I'm achy. Chills. Fever. Unstable blood sugar even though I am eating good. I'm starting to look like Igor or Quasimodo. My daffodils are blooming though. Hubby spent the evening working on the estate and I tried to stay warm.
Today it is sunny but started out cold. I got up at 6. I have a mild cold. I took some generic Airborne and it helped some but I have no energy. We may have a hard freeze this weekend so I needed to pick all my blooming daffodils just in case. I have tons and filled 3 vases. My son was off and went to a friend's house.
There is so much going on with settling my MIL's estate right now that it is driving me crazy. I have to help my husband and the constant calls, emails, problems, are overwhelming for both of us. And I get further and further and further behind on sparkpeople. Every time I can't be here the emails pile up in the hundreds. I am going to be scaling back some on sparkpeople and am going to set limits on being online as I have to make my health a priority. That being said, I got my exercise in today.
I was late getting Baby fed but she was ready and waiting. Hubby and I went for a walk this evening when he got home. The coyotes were howling. Someone's horse has been running all over our property. Baby was resting in the front yard. Hubby and I started to work on the estate stuff and worked on it the rest of this evening. We just got done.
