Been There, Done Everything - Today!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

My son was called to work again today. The new person who calls in subs always waits until the last minute. My son had 50 minutes to get ready and drive 10 miles. So I had to fix breakfast and lunch for him and get together his uniforms and equipment for taekwondo. On days like this he leaves at 7:30 and gets home at 7:30.

Soooooooooooo today I got the pleasure of cleaning all 6 pet cages alone, plus vacuuming, cleaning my part of the bathroom, 2 loads of laundry and all my other chores. I am totally pooped. I worked all day long and only sat down to use the bathroom and to eat lunch and supper. I can't pee standing up, though I had a friend whose Indian grandma could. I'm not sure how she kept from filling her shoes. LOL.

I got through 116 emails yesterday and had 67 left.

My calories sucked yesterday!!

Tuesday

Calories - 1756

I got this survey from my friend Sunny332's blog.

1. Who used to be your superhero when you were a child? Mr. Revelle, my 6th grade teacher and the boys P.E. coach. I had to punch a girl in the face to defend myself and I flattened her. She was a bully and he stood up for me. A bonus - no one ever bothered me again. LOL. My own boyfriend was afraid of me. As Mr. Revelle stated, "For such a tiny little girl you pack one H-- of a punch!" And, yes, if you are looking for a victim I would suggest you choose someone else unless you enjoy peeling yourself off of the pavement. LOL.

2. Most hated chore on the chore list? Dusting - total ick. I hate it. This should be saved for people in Hades.

3. If you were to start your own restaurant, what would it be called? The Gingham Kitchen

4. Is there anything pink within 10 feet of you? My boobies. LOL. Okay technically they aren't that pink, more tired and gray looking, but there isn't much pink here other than a pantiliner box. LOL.

5. If you had to only eat three things for the rest of your life, day in and day out, what would they be? Bacon, steak, salad. Got any?

6. What are you listening to right now? Dog The Bounty Hunter.

7. What's the last sporting event you watched? Nascar probably. I'm not much into sports.

8. When was the last time you drove out of town? November - to St. Louis.

9. Have you been to the movies in the last 5 days? I haven't been to the movies in the last 5 years!!

10. What was the last thing you had to drink? Decaffeinated hot tea.

11. Last food that you ate? Italian salami and provolone cheese, mixed berries, cantaloupe.

12. If you were a time traveler and could only go back in time or forward in time, which would you choose? Forward. I already know the past.

13. If you could tell your best friend one thing that you can’t stand about him/her what would it be? My best friend is perfect or she would not be my best friend. LOL.

14. If you were to be famous what would you like to be known for? For finding a cure for Cancer.

15. What does your last text message say? I don't text. It's a waste of time to me. Reverse technology like the pony express, Morse Code.

16. How early do you start holiday shopping? Whenever the mood strikes.

17. If you wrote a movie, what would the title be? Been There, Done That

18. When did you first realize you needed to change your lifestyle food wise? When I was 32.

19. What color ink do you prefer to write with? Very Black.

20. What was your favorite toy as a child? A stuffed monkey named Dooney.

I think it's very telling that I selfishly want to be a bestselling novelist, whileyou want to be famous for finding a cure for cancer, which is a true win-win-win-win for everybody!

Anyway, I thought ridiculously hard about the answers to some of those questions. I had the blog sitting unfinished on my computer for hours while I tried to think of a danged movie title or who my childhood hero was! Other answers just popped right out, though. Like time traveling.

I Have Returned

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

We are having nice, cool days. It's really chilly in the mornings now though and I had to turn the heat back on again.

I'm sleeping pretty well for a change.

My son was called to work yesterday so I was home alone all day and I enjoyed it.

My hubby is going to take some more vacations days and will be off from Thursday until he goes back to work after Thanksgiving.

I managed to get down to 95 emails again night before last which was the same as the night before. Yesterday I got rid of 198 emails and had 56 left.

Hubby and I are still taking our walks at dusk.

This morning I saw 3 young deer in the yard and walked within 10 feet of them while they just stood there and watched me.

I had errands to do today - post office, newspaper office, DMV, bank, Aldis, Wal-Mart, and Kroger. I had coupons for free food at Kroger. I like free food.

My husband had a family member with a crisis so I spent a couple of days dealing with that. We have no idea if it is resolved but it is not our problem and we have no intention of being dragged into the drama.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

Sunday, November 14, 2010

It was another nice cool sunny day. Hubby and I slept in and after I made breakfast we went for a nice long walk. We went for another long walk in the afternoon and then a shorter walk when it was almost dark.

My son went to his friend Michael's house for a goodbye party for their other close friend Zack who is moving to Wyoming. Michael and Ian met in grade school as they were in cub scouts together. It was a small pack of about 6 boys. They went to different schools out in the country but were the same age. His mom and I were close friends and worked together. When Ian was a junior in high school he had P.E. with Michael and Zack and they hit it off and became the 3 musketeers. They have remained friends since that time even though Ian and Zack moved away to go to different universities and Michael stayed behind. Ian and Zack would come home every weekend they could and the 3 of them would get together. Michael and Ian are like brothers. When Zack came back from college he moved back to his original home town which is in another county about 40 miles from here and he didn't have a vehicle any more so the 3 could not get together as much as before. Zack has been unable to find work so he is moving to Wyoming where his mom works.

Hondo has a new toy. Some kind of white furry toy that looks like a sheep. He's a blue healer so maybe that is what it is. I guess blue healers would be cow or sheep herders. LOL. If I win the lottery I might get him a real sheep to herd. I don't want him getting fat and lazy.

Got rid of 122 emails yesterday and ended up with 95. Today I got behind. LOL.

Herding dogs like Hondo and Dingo just LOVE to run and herd stuff. Dingo would've loved a sheep.

I had only two walks yesterday, because I got busy cooking for company, so the night-time walk had to be 3.5 miles. It was actually pleasant to be out walking under the stars on a fall night that wasn't too cold.

I personally love the idea of living in Wyoming- just not the Winters there.

Blue Heeler's definitely need exercise and work- my neighbor has one that almost turned Vicious- (they keep her Pend all day when at work), due to their lack of attention and nothing to do. These dogs are herders of Anything- this one has instead turned OCD- when lose she herds flying birds! The poor thing just runs around looking at the sky and chasing the flocks flying over. The Cool Off Has Begun

Saturday, November 13, 2010

I slept in today. I had some problems sleeping during the night so it was nice to rest.

The front went through this morning. It got windy and rained a little. The high of 60 degrees was at midnight. The sun came out later but it only got to 52 degrees.

This morning I had to re-log in with each message to sparkpeople. So much for their wonderful site maintenance. LOL. Yesterday I got through 91 emails and had 105 left.

Hubby and I went for a long walk this morning down the road. We saw Baby, the neighbor's Chow, some fish in the creek, and some crows.

When we got back my son and I made brunch.

Later on hubby fixed my car while I did a couple more loads of laundry. After the 3 loads of laundry I did yesterday I'm really sick of it for a while. The problem with my car was that I had a fouled out spark plug. My car needs vacuumed and washed but is ready for winter now.

I did some yard work today. I finished cleaning out the 2 perennial/herb beds plus the 2 hosta beds. I harvested my rosemary and cut back the mums. I filled the bird bath and emptied out 8 of my huge impatiens pots. I still have a lot more that are covered with floating ground cover and still producing.

I saw Hondo trot through our yard. He had been to visit Daisy. All the neighborhood male dogs love Daisy. She is very wild, friendly, and funny. A yellow Lab. Hondo's owner had another dog, a Beagle named Gunner and he and Daisy were inseparable for years. They were always together until Gunner disappeared. If there is such a thing as true dog love Gunner had it for Daisy. His owner said Gunner would be gone for days and would just come home to eat and then go back with Daisy. Daisy would get in our pond and catch tadpoles and Gunner would wade out a little way to be near her, though you could tell he thought fishing for tadpoles was gross and stupid. After Gunner was gone Hondo started visiting Daisy but he is not as crazy about her as Gunner was. We saw some bones in the creek that my hubby thinks is Gunner.

We saw two companions this summer in the RV park where we stayed. One was a half wolf and the other a spitz. Talk about Mutt and Jeff. They were Louie, the wolfdog and McDuff, the spitz. You never saw one without the other. Their owners would leave for a few weeks and leave them unattended. Their neighbors fed them. One of the guys in the park bought Ball Park franks for them. I've thought about them a lot since we've left Idaho.

When dogs have the freedom to run free--ESPECIALLY beagles, who get fat and lazy otherwise!--their true nature has a chance to come out. I love hearing about Hondo, Baby, and now Gunner and Daisy. We have leash laws everywhere here, so you hardly ever see a dog out just doing his thing--let alone pursuing a love affair! There is one dog near us, though, who has managed to get a "free" arrangement for himself. He's a nice black dog who trots about, without a care in the world, says hi to me, and then trots off on his business, looking back to see if I might want to play with him.

Oh, I am miserable when I have trouble sleeping! I hope it is a short-term problem for you.
We had rain, thunderstorms and snow during the night on Thursday, and the high winds made it just bitter cold!
I am NOT ready for fall to be over! (said while kicking and screaming)

Sorry you're having trouble sleeping again!

I love your descriptions of things. My vivid imagination runs with them, LOL.

I'm doing laundry too.

Tell Daisy not to like Gunner. He has no manners. It isn't polite to eat someone else's tadpoles without permission. In fact, it's darn rude emoticon
