This is starting out as a déjà vu type blog. Guess what? I over slept again. Yes!! No joke. I'm practically a sloth!! Hanging in a tree somewhere upside down with green moss growing off me. Moving an inch a year. Coming down to pee and take a dump once a week. Stinking. Well not quite but I'm getting there. I was smart enough last night to tell my son to wake me if I was not up when he got up and I wasn't so he did. Thus I was just 15 minutes late instead of a half hour. LOL. Rip Van Mortie.
I feel a lot better today though. Most of the severe fatigue and the body aches and pains are gone. I still have a stuffed up nose. The MRSA lesion is still going strong. No drainage but it is becoming consolidated and harder. I still have a temp.
I had to go to town today because my husband is into his bread-sucking mode again. He goes insane with it sometimes and eats an entire loaf of bread in a day!! How does one pass something like this???? He denies this but it's gone and my son and I don't eat it at all and our 8 chinchillas don't so you tell me who ate it. I look him in the face and ask him if he is telling me that someone broke into the house and instead of ripping off the electronics, silver, jewelry, etc. they ripped off and ate an entire loaf of bread. LOL. He gets peeved. He is eating massive amounts of Halloween candy they have at work too. They have a dispenser and he fills his sandwich bags with it and stuffs them in his pockets. All his pockets are bulging like a chipmunk. LOL. He has a candy addiction.
I had to go to town today anyway as my son needed some vitamins. And I wanted some socks. The selection at Wal-Mart sucks any more. They have tons of socks that are not supposed to look like you are wearing socks. No show socks. Few real socks. I assume that socks are out of style now so you have to hide that you use them - like having a hidden crack habit. "OMG, She's wearing socks. Don't look at her. Yuck!" The check out lady who was my age brought up their lack of socks too. And of course she and I were in agreement, Wal-Mart sucks.
I also wanted to get the TV Guide as we have been chosen by Nielson to do the TV thing again. They always choose us though we must be the weirdest people they panel. Sometimes my son won't watch TV for days. Hubby watches the same programs over and over. He loves American Pickers which I hate. If you've seen one rusty bike you've seen them all. He points out that I was an interior decorator before I became a nurse and I point out that schlepping though hoards of filthy boxes of rusty nuts and bolts while fighting off spiders and snakes is not what I did. I went to high-end air-conditioned furniture stores and purchased ridiculously overpriced products for people who had more money than sense. Hubby also loves Science shows. My son and I are the science majors but he should have been one. Some of those shows are okay but hubby tends to like ones that are tedious and dull and would put even Stephen Hawking to sleep. I am always kind of ashamed to pencil in what I watch as I'm afraid that someone sits there and says, "This woman is supposed to be a college grad?" It's the same concept I feel when I eat out. The old - we are fat so we have to be careful not to order the Triple Baconator with extra cheese and extra bacon and an "Extra Extra Extra Large, Shove-More-In, Fill-That-Box/Bag, Biggie fries" and a gargantuan fully-loaded Blizzard as we know people will think, "No wonder this heifer weighs a ton - the disgusting pig." So you order the child's meal and eat it, the cardboard box it came in, and the cheap toy in the privacy of the bathroom and then hit the drive through for some real food. LOL.
My friend ConfusedBird, who lives in my region of the country, has encouraged me in the past to check out Goodwill for some clothes. Confusedbird is young and pretty and could make a potato sack look good and I'm old and........well............really really really......... old. LOL. I was alive prior to permanent press. I didn't think that would have much for me but she said she has seen things there that her mom would like. In pictures her mom and I have similar taste. ConfusedBird is very convincing. Besides I trust her as she has given me a lot of good tips so I thought, well, why not try it. I went today and bought 2 pair of jeans and a t-shirt for $14!! They fit perfectly and are like brand new. And they were clothes that I would have actually bought for myself new. Now I have 3 pairs of pants that actually fit. So I am really happy. Happy for my new clothes and happy that I have a good friend like ConfusedBird. Having younger friends is really nice because they help you break out of your comfort zone. You can try new things and not be so.............old. LOL.
