We had a very successful shopping trip yesterday, and I got most of the things on my list. No swimsuit, though. I just ran out of time. I did get some new work-out clothes and shoes (everything was on sale!), some shorts for summer, a nice pair of cropped pants, and some separates I can mix and match for work. I especially love the "pencil skirts" I got at Christopher & Banks. Me? In a "pencil skirt"? Believe it, baby! They fit me just right, stopping at the knee (Clinton & Stacy on "What not to Wear" would approve). Most of my skirts go down to my ankles, making me appear dumpy. These are fab-o. I got a khaki and a black skirt so I can wear just about anything with them. I feel pretty today!

Partly because I've been busy and partly because I haven't bought groceries this week, the diet end of things has been going really well the last few days. I stepped on the scale this morning and got a shade over 188. That's a new low weight for me, representing a loss of 57 pounds and 23% of me that is no longer. How cool is that? I'm very pleased, especially since I'm going to do some shopping today for shorts, capris and maybe even (drumroll, please) a swimsuit! I tried on my old swimsuit last night and I could wear it, but its pretty floppy around the top.
My next mini-goal will be to get to 186.6. At that point I will have lowered my BMI ten points from Jan. 2006.

Looking at the calorie count, I had a pretty successful weekend. I made a nice meal on Saturday night and went to bed feeling full. Isn't it odd that the two slices of French bread I ate are way more calories than the strawberry ice cream I had? If I had only known that I would have eaten a lot more ice cream and skipped the bread!
The traditional Sunday night supper in my family was popcorn. Usually huge bowls of it. And I added to the tradition myself by putting melted butter on it. I was really hungry for popcorn last night, but instead of making the traditional "grease corn," I popped a bag of microwave popcorn and ate that. Just as satisfying and when the bowl was empty, it was gone! I really felt the extra salt this morning when I was exercising though--blah.

I crossed that magical barrier between 190 and 189.9 today. This is another stage for me. I've been in the 190's since Feb. 1 (including a temporary blip over 200 for at least a week in there). Now, I have a whole new set of challenges to meet. When I reach 188.9, which is definitely doable this next week, there will be 23% of me that has just evaporated. That's 55.8 pounds I've lost so far, almost 24 of them while on SP.
Now the 170's are out there on the horizon. Can I get there by August? Stay tuned!

I'm pretty pathetic when it comes to sugar. I cope by not having it around, but I do have two kids so it seeps into my life. I was really being good yesterday, perhaps too stringent on calories. After lunch I had only had 670 calories, which is not many for me. I got home at 4:45 absolutely famished, but planning to make spaghetti for supper. I figured we'd eat early, then I'd walk. When I walked in, here is E. in the middle of a big cookie-making disaster. I HAD to step in and salvage all this cookie dough for her. I got the cookie dough firmed up enough to form cookies and then I started eating the dough--and I couldn't stop. Monster cookies--yum! At least they have lots of fiber (and chocolate, fat, sugar and calories).
I nearly made myself sick, then I felt bloated and awful. The good news is that those cookies do not tempt me a bit today, but the damage was done. Up a pound this week and I'm just thankful it wasn't all the way back up to 193 again!
