A perfect fit

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Javamama is dinging me for not blogging lately. I just don't have too much to say! Things are going reasonably well, although I've been *hungry* lately.

This morning was my grocery shopping morning because I work this evening. I love shopping after the kids are at school and the store is pretty empty. This is when I do what little menu-planning I do! In preparation for my shopping, I slid into my new jeans this morning. You know, the smaller size ones? The ones that just came out of the dryer and are often a little snug around the middle at first? Perhaps more than "a little snug"?

This morning, they fit perfectly. No digging in at the waist, just very comfortable. It made me happy.

    Yay! It's "pants" day!

You don't have to have something to say. Clearly, I blather on for pages with nothing important to say! :-) Just "check in with yourself" every day. That's all.

Also, we need to pick a shopping day! That can be a goal, right?

Saturday weigh-in

Saturday, April 28, 2007

If you don't like what you see on the scales on Friday, try again on Saturday. I've had to do that for a couple of weeks now...hmmm?

The scales were kinder today. I'm up a pound instead of two. That is easier to get my mind aroud. I'm getting my eating under control again and took a couple of short walks yesterday, in addition to my normal exercise. I feel like I'm getting my arse hoisted back up on the wagon again, but I may get bounced off again!

Maybe I should change my weigh-in day to Saturday morning?

LOL! Well, you could, but then you'd weigh less on Sunday. :-)

Hang in there sweetie. You'll make your mini goal this week - you're going to up your water a bit and do an extra 10 minutes of cardio every day, to see if that gets your burn rate up, right?

I can't wait to see you put 189 on your ticker! Would it motivate you to buy yourself a pair of shorts in a size 12 and see if you can fit into them by the 4th of July? I'm thinking of doing that myself, to keep motivated. The scale doesn't do it for me, but the clothes might.

Two pounds back

Friday, April 27, 2007

It's definitely been a see-saw for me lately. I gained a couple of pounds this week, which really doesn't surprise me. I knew I probably would, and just hoped it wouldn't be more than a couple of pounds. I foresee fewer stumbling blocks this next week. Last week was riddled with them and while I started out each day OK, but the end of the day I couldn't resist the temptations any longer. It doesn't help that I had two meetings last week over the supper hour and the meal was provided. The food offered was pizza and cookies-sigh. And yes, I ate it.

So I just read the "9 Hidden Motivations" article, saved it, and will perhaps commit to memory for the week ahead. My minigoal for next week is to weigh less than 193. I've been here too long already!

Home today

Thursday, April 26, 2007

K woke up with a sore throat and I didn't have much going on a work today, so I'm staying home with her today. Staying at home is always a bit of a challenge, but we are in need of groceries so there aren't too many temptations around right now. We'll see how it goes.

My inner thighs are making themselves known today. Did a "Pilates Leg" workout this morning. Phew! I'm *almost* to the point where the old thighs aren't rubbing together so much. We are starting to plan a shopping trip for summer clothes. I think all of my shorts are size 20/22 and I'm a couple of sizes smaller than that now, so I'll need some new ones. I've got it in my mind that being a size 12 would be ideal for me. How do I know? I've never been a size 12! It just sounds "normal" somehow. I think it is attainable with some more work.

I hope you don't find anything too tempting to eat at home, and that K feels better very very soon. I'm fighting the chocolate-temptation myself and it's difficult :(

Stiff and sore

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

I don't know what I did yesterday, but boy! am I sore today. My thighs and upper arms are bothering me in a pleasant sort of way. I've been exercising now for what, 3.5 years? I don't remember feeling this sore in a long time. I think it was those dumb cha-chas I did yesterday. I always feel so lame doing those--this little dance move isn't doing anything for me, I think. I'm rethinking that attitude today. Ouch!

Maybe its that I'm finally doing it RIGHT?!

The cake is gone (and I didn't eat it). The coffee cake just needs to be picked up and thrown in the trash. Even the kids won't miss it now. The sugar purge is nearly complete. I did eat some sugar yesterday, but I logged it and it wasn't uncontrolled face-stuffing as it had been the days before. Calorie-wise I did well yesterday.

I'm guilty that I haven't been home in the evenings this week, so my kids haven't had a prepared meal since Sunday. I've either been at work or serving on a parents panel interviewing a vice-principal at my kid's school. Last night, I didn't get home until nearly 8:00 p.m. Luckily, the refrigerator is stuffed with leftovers from the weekend, but still. I've got more interviews this evening, which means I just had to pass up the chance to play Bunco with a group that is just getting going8-(. Well, maybe next month. I'd love to have a social life of some sort again.

Yay you! Being "pleasantly sore" means you're definately doing something right for your muscles! Keep on doing that cha-cha ;-)
