Days aren't that different for me now that I've retired but the weekends do usually seem different.

I finally started trying to figure out my Sony. I had charged it and read about 60 pages of the directions on the tablet. At this rate it could be awhile. LOL. Gail picked up my last book I'd put on hold at the library and I have 2 others to read too. Then I will force myself to know how to use the Sony so no more library trips.

NFL Conference Title games today

My team the Minnesota Vikings didn't make it to the playoffs but I'm still interested and have the Packers/Chicago on while I'm working on SparkPeople. The way we lost to the Saints in the NFC Championship game last year hung over us for a long time. Then of course we found new problems including finally having the coach fired.

Whimp

I don't want to go out in the cold weather. It takes my breath away. I was supposed to go to a play today but decided already yesterday it was too cold. Then it was supposed to snow a little overnight so the sidewalks those 5 blocks I have to walk between the bus stop and Bethesda to catch the Senior bus would be slippery and there's still snow banks on cornors. I missed bowling last week. I used to be so tough and a little weather would just bring me out. No more. I'm so glad I'm retired and don't have to go out.

    It't not so much just the cold- well maybe where you live- but the overcast and the cold will keep me down! But we will get a warmish day and some sunshine and that seems to renew my spirits. emoticon

    I am right there with you. I haven't been leaving my house lately unless I have to. I feel bad for my hubby when he has to leave to go to work. I am ready for summer already!! emoticon

Dreams

Or in my case more likely nightmares. I don't remember much about them but wake up exhausted and feel fearful sometimes. I've been told I yell in my sleep usually calling Help, Help. Yesterday I blogged about sleep. I think my dreams may affect my quality of sleep.

I have a jump rope that I keep on my loveseat in the living room. Isaac likes to play with it and he left it on the floor. Dawn visits on Fridays and saw it and had to try. She said she never good jump rope very well. I was a whiz but now do it very slowly to avoid hurting myself. So of course I showed her. She has an ION machine for the feet and today I had numerous blisters on my left foot. Although one is the same old calous or rather in the same place. The blister on the side of the big toe popped.

  I've never had the ionizer done, but my sister has and she was amazed! I have a chi machine and love it...when I remember to use it:)

Sleep

Sleep is a very important componate of well being and can cause weight and health problems. I always put 9 hours in the tracker although I spend many more hours in bed. I worry I spend too much time there. I hate to get up and dawdle getting up. The quality of my sleep maybe isn't as great as it could be. I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and used a c-pap for years. After losing significant weight I had it rechecked and it had improved from 74 episodes per hour to 14-18 episodes. I had problems with the new mask and it made sores in my nose and outside my nose. So I quit using it. I still wake up every 2-4 hours and get up and go to the bathroom. Pain is the most often cause of waking up but sometimes it's my cat, Morgan. I'm not sure if I move and she decides I should pet her or she just decides it's time for petting. A couple times she nipped my feet but I may have kicked her first. I'd like to feel rested when I wake up and I don't. I'm as tired or more than when I went to sleep.

    You're right, good sleep is so important. I have the same issue, where often I wake up still tired and have a hard time dragging myself out of bed. Of course, I have to get up at about 5:30 every morning and often don't even get to bed until 11:00, so that probably has a lot to do with it too, but I find I wake a lot to change positions too. My hubby has sleep apnea and has a CPAP but can't sleep with it, so he never wears it. He snores, and that keeps me awake too. My ear plugs are often my best friend.

I hope you can get some quality rest.

    I tend to feel pretty good on days that I get 5-6 hours of sleep anymore than that and I am tired all day long.

    I am the same way- I could stay in bed for days. I could easily sleep for 12 hours. I don't wake up and jump right out of bed- and don't even want to slither out of bed. And I definitely need about 8-9 hours of sleep per night.

    I tend to feel more tired in the day if I get extra sleep. I go to bed between 11 and 12 and get up at 6:30 am. This seems to be good for me and I feel well rested. If I sleep 8 or more hours I feel blah all day.

  I would love to sleep through the night but because I drink so much water I get up once or twice and then I never quite get into that deep sleep again.
