Day of Rest

Sunday, June 13, 2010

I think I need a day of rest because I can't even remember the last time I didn't leave the apartment at least part of the day. LOL Then again I need to recycle today as my paper sack is full and the Sunday paper will overwhelm it so I have to leave to do that.

I got excited when I stepped on the scale this morning. It showed I'd lost 4 pounds. I suspected that so weighed again and had gained 3. I thought I'd be losing some of the 5 I managed to gain and am down 2. Clear as mud right? I do need to keep my exercise up. I'm built with no waistline. I'm wearing jeans today and they always pop my tummy over the top which I don't like. The elastic waist isn't as bad but I have on a button and zipper one. My tummy seems to be the part that pops out first.

Oh, the dreaded "muffin top"! Like MARLENE2995 said, they'll be fitting you in no time....you're always so active.
Hope that you're enjoying your day of rest!

Walked to the Farmers Market

Saturday, June 12, 2010

I walked to the Farmers Market this morning since Gail didn't get groceries. Not that we needed anything except popcorn and she doesn't get that at the grocery store. There was a lot of flowers and plants. I got strawberries, asparagus, and flowers. Even that tiny bit was awkward to carry home. I did notice lots of people brought their own cloth bags. It was so crowded you could barely get through the aisles.

At least it didn't rain on me although it's rained several times since. I wish we'd get the soaking kind that makes everything look fresh. It's been gloomy and scattered showere forever it seems. I know we need the rain but I feel more ambitious when the sun shines

    The Farmers Market sounds fun.

We had a lot of rain to the point that roads were temporarily closed. emoticon

We've had soaking rain here for three days! Wish I could push it East toward you! We've had several inches, so could stand some warmth and sunshine!

She's Baaack

Friday, June 11, 2010

Yesterday I was concerned because Morgan hadn't been with me overnight. Well last night she was on the bed when I went to sleep and I think I had just been sleeping a little while and she was on my stomach bumping against my c-pap facemask. I petted her even though I never actually woke up. Then when I got up and went to the bathroom about 3am where ever she was she came running. When I woke up she was at the end of the bed. That's the way it usually is so now I don't know what was up the night before.

For some reason I joined the Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge yesterday. I've been trying to spend less time on here so I don't think that was the direction to go. I got an e-mail reminding us about the Spark sponsored teams and this one called to me. I already exercise at least 10 minutes but now it's going to be more structured I think.

The Cats Team 2010 Summer 5% Challenge has also gotten time consuming but it will be over soon. I feel I'm not an asset because I don't seem to be losing.

You don't have to be losing to be an asset. We all have our ups and downs, otherwise we wouldn't need Sparkpeople.

You're always an assest to all of us...no matter what team! I know what you mean about spending less time on SPARKPEOPLE. For some of us, it's hard to find a middle ground, a happy medium. Perhaps that should be one of my goals???

I have a cat who sleeps with me as well. She typically comes up at about 5 am and yells at me! I pet her and she falls asleep draped over my hand. And I know how you felt--when she chooses to sleep somewhere elses, I miss her!

Can't please me

Thursday, June 10, 2010

I get annoyed with Morgan sometimes when she wakes me up to be petted during the night. Last night she didn't come into my room at all and I was worried she was hurt or sick somewhere. I didn't see her after Gail got home around 6:15pm until I went to the bathroom around 7am this morning. Then she was running up and down the hallway. She usually sleeps with me part of the time. Gail and I were both in the living room until around 7:30 and she always has to be where we are. I got up around 3am and she usually gets up too. She seems to be fine now laying on the bed and climbing on me when I was talking to Bailey on the phone.

I made it to the Melody Makers chorus practice. My body didn't think we should get out of bed. We have a concert next week.

Gail works mornings at an Alina clinic and is a Union member. They called and urged her to come picket in sympathy with the hospital nurses.

I doubt I'll go to the walking group tonigh because of all the rain. I'm still recovering from the last walking in the rain.

Our cat likes to visit us in the morning. I think as we're waking up we must get more restless. That is her cue to come aggravate us for a "pet".

It certainly isn't any fun walking in the rain--sure takes the fun out of it for me. Gee the temp today was mighty low for this time of year, it is what it is, doesn't mean I like it very much. I would rather have a nice 70 or low 80 this time of year and without all ther rain, suppose later we will be wishing for some rain to stop the yards from burning into crisy nothing(YUK)

It does look as though it wants to sprinkle again. I'm going out to work in my flowers for a while so it probably will rain. Do you walk with a group on a regular basis? I didn't get to the Y on Monday, made it on Wednesday, and plan to go tomorrow. I don't think I'll get there at all next week. Someone has something for me every day. At least I know I'm still usable!

Now the sun comes out

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

Actually it peaked out a little last night already after raining on our picnic. My legs were still cold to the touch when I went to bed. I seem to have survived with only really watery eyes and a sore back. The back started to hurt already during the band playing. Then I sat the whole 90 minutes of the cruise and the SparkPeople t-shirt was still wet. I put the very wet sweatshirt back on to get home but wasn't in the rain much because I walked home from the van through the skyways.

I seem to just keep gaining even though I ate reasonably yesterday. It better be water weight or something like that.

Back to the usualy routine of Passport Players today.

I think the next time we are in need of rain that we should all plan picnics or wash our cars. It seems they both cause rain.

There's no greater cosmic joke played on us than rain on a picnic. Ah, well, the best-laid plans...
