First blog of the year and long over due!!!

Friday, January 10, 2014

Hey all, I'm soooo sorry for not keeping up on blogging but when August of 2013 hit nothing slowed down and there were tons of appointments, sicknesses, and other things going on to where I just haven't been able to keep up with blogging... So I will be sharing a lot with you all on this blog and get you caught up...

emoticon

So in August of 2013, there were many counseling appointments, doctor appointments, and in home appointments... Legal Aid ended up not being able to help me in my divorce process... So I copied all the paperwork and the long process of filling it out...

emoticon

In September of 2013, my son started Kindergarten, the appointments multiplied, and I had to hold off on school because of all the appointments that we both had... Not to mention I have bad muscle spasms of the neck and limited mobility so I was in the process of getting physical therapy, which was denied and I had to appeal for...

emoticon

In October of 2013, not only did the appointments multiply from the last couple of months but there were appointments in another city which we took trip link for and ended up being an all afternoon thing... So I had my appointment for family law and all the paperwork was done and signed and the Sheriff served him the paperwork while he was in jail... My son also had an Occupational Therapy evaluation, and we had to wait to see if the insurance company would pay for his therapy sessions...

emoticon

In November of 2013, The occupational therapy sessions were cleared and thus began the journey of even more appointments but much needed ones... Another trip to Portland for an appointment, counseling, and doctor appointments, & in home visits. Also had Avery's first parent/teacher conference and found out that his fine motor skills are what's holding him back... So I was given some really helpful tools and advice on how to help him... It's still a work in progress... Also I got the chance to have a night out with a girl friend of mine... We went to Winter Jam, which is a Christian concert that had 10 different bands playing... It was a blast...! A night to remember!!! I also had to take the parenting COPE class in order to get custody of my son...

emoticon

In December of 2013, My divorce became final, I got permanent custody of my son, my maiden name back, he's suppose to pay child support, but I doubt will see any of it, oh and the payments for the divorce have been turned over to him instead of me... Of course we had lots of appointments but they dwindled off the closer Christmas got and we were able to enjoy no outside appointments for 2 weeks... Boy was that nice!!! I participated in a Christmas musical that my church did... It was a lot of fun... I also got to be on Worship and praise team for 3 weeks!!! My son & I spent Christmas with grandma Jean and her family and it was nice to see how others celebrate Christmas together... Avery had a nice Christmas and so did I... This was the first holiday season where I actually lost weight instead of gained any!!!

emoticon emoticon

So now that brings us back to the present January 2014!!! Lots of things have happened and it's only the 10th... I've lost a total of 42 lbs and 15 1/2 inches all over!!! I've gone from a 3x to a 1x, a size 24 in jeans to an 18-20!!! I can fit into that black dress that is a size 16 that I haven't been able to wear for years!!! My son read his first book, we passed our first housing inspection, the school has asked for further testing on my son, I am going to be getting a cat scan on my head, he has a speech evaluation coming up, my housing recertification is coming up, I also have to submit an new restraining order before this one expires... Also on the 28th of this month my ex husband gets out of jail, so I'll be looking over my shoulders quite often.. Well because he's broken the thing 4 times and I believe that things haven't changed with him and if given the chance he'll do it again...

emoticon

So as you can see, I've been one busy momma... I will do my best to at least post one blog update a month... Also things we could use prayer in are as follows:

~ Finances ~ God's protection ~ Continued leading, guidance, and direction ~ healing of my neck, headaches, and dizzy spells ~ a correct diagnosis for my son ~ For me to get physical therapy ~ And to continue putting one foot in front of the other...

Thanks for taking time out to read my blog and thanks for your support!!!

August 10th Update...

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Wow I can't believe it's been so long before I've written in my blog... In my defense I have been a very busy momma... So I will do my to catch you all up... I'll do a recap on July & then do one for August...

emoticon

July was a very busy month, with doctor appointments, counseling appointments, Avery's birthday, my birthday, dentist appointment, & getting my award letter and fulfilling all the requirements for that I have been super busy... Avery had a birthday bash at Chucke Cheeses & a friend of mine came and got us for a small birthday party for me... I should say small surprise party, lol... Yeah she asked what I was doing & I said nothing and she said how about I cook dinner for you tomorrow & I said sure! It was a great time!!!

It's only August 10th & it's been very busy as well... I do believe this trend isn't going to stop due to counseling appointments, more doctor appointments, nurse visits, more tests for Avery, teaching pre-school arts n crafts at Vacation Bible School, workouts, and more...

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So the latest is my soon to be ex hubby called to let me know he cheated on me... Yeah, nice.. I guess 8 years meant nothing to him... So sad we have a son & he kicks us to the curb for a one night we had a couple drinks & blah blah blah... Sorry but that's the last straw.... Anyways I've forgiven him and I am moving on... I have signed up for counseling myself after all of this... Also I believe that my son has aspergers... A nurse came out and did an assessment on him and he scored low in multiple areas... His doctor is sending in the referrals on Monday for tests... The roadblock that we might encounter is that the insurance might not want to pay for it all... So that's my prayer! That they will pay for it & Avery will have a diagnosis & he will be able to get the help he needs! I am in the process of getting the paperwork for the divorce & permanent custody of my son... Also Legal Aid might be able to take my case & I won't have to pay for an attorney and such... That would be such a blessing!!! I didn't ask for this, I was the one who was faithful raising our son & taking car of all the responsibilities... He is the one who cheated on me and then had the audacity to tell me that I could cheat on him... In one word WOW!!! So I reported the contact and he is in jail at the moment & looking at 2 years in prison for 4 PV violations... Anyways I just started Rockin Body three days ago & I am feeling great! I can't wait to see my results in a month!!! Well I think that's pretty short, sweet and to the point, have a great August!!!

You deserve so much better than him. He hurt you badly in sooooo many ways and you will be so much better off without him. AND your son will be better off. He doesn't need anyone that abusive in his life. You are doing a great job - you CAN do it!

June 11th Update!!!!

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Hello everyone!!! A lot has happened since the end of May so I will share with you all the exciting things & everything in between. On May 24th I went in to sign all the paperwork for our new place. May 25th was moving day!!!! My sis-in-law, her hubby, and a friend of theirs helped us move. My sis-in-law also took us grocery shopping afterwards as well! We didn't go to church on Sunday because I was completely exhausted and Avery was sick with a sinus head cold. So Tuesday May 28th we were able to go to Womens Bible study, and ran some errands. Wednesday May 29th from 1pm-4pm was a cleaning party. A couple of my friends from church came to help me clean the old place and patch some holes. Thursday May 30th a friend drove me to the old place while my mom was watching my son to finish cleaning it. It took me 5.5 hours. Let's just say by the time I got home I took a shower & was ready for bed... Well I turned in the keys and I also took pictures of everything that was done to where they can't charge me for stuff that I did. Yay, I am done with the old place!!!!!! So that sums up the rest of May...

emoticon

Okay on to June! We are moved in and I am putting our new place together!!! We got phone and internet service on June 5th!!! Avery is enjoying having his own room!!!! A friend at church gave my son a trundle bed with mattresses and a waterproof mattress pad. They even came over the day we moved in and put it all together! We got a couple of nice floor rugs from another friend. We got a blue LazyBoy rocker/recliner from another friend. and on Sunday another friend gave us a wooden cross with all the names of Jesus and two picture frames. One that said faith & had a Bible verse and another one that said Believe with a verse!!! I now have a bus pass and have been learning how to get around on the bus! I also have a friend who takes me grocery shopping when I need to do big trips. Avery graduates WIC in July! He is also registered for Kindergarten! It's been potty training boot camp over here & he has slept in his bed with big boy underwear for the past 3 nights with a dry bed! He hasn't worn a pull-up in 2 days as well!!! He is almost completely potty trained!!!!! I won't be attending summer term for school because my award letter won't be here in time. So looks like I get to spend the summer with my Avery, And then in the fall we both go to school!!! I might not have a lot of money but we are going to make some good memories this summer!!!! So as you can see I have been super busy, lol.... Also I am at my lowest weight in the past 2 years!!!! And as I continue to put my feet to the pavement I will continue to lose the weight!!! I have also lost some inches as well!!! Those are all the updates I have right now. Until I get everything unpacked and all I won't be on here as much...

May 15th Update!

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Hello all, it's been awhile since I updated you on what's going on so here I go...... On May 12th you know that was Mothers Day and I had the privilege of celebrating Mothers Day with my mom after church! We had a mini velvet cupcake party! We took some pictures and just visited. It was a blast!

emoticon

So on Monday I had my adviser orientation to go to for college. I took the bus there and back so I had to leave an hour and a half early just to get there on time and it took me an hour and a half to get home. I met with an adviser and we planned out my courses for summer and fall term. Also when I got back home my mom let me know that the management place called to let me know that we got the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was doing the happy dance... I told my mom the day before that getting the place was my Mothers day present!!!! It is sooo nice that I have a mom who watches her grandson if I need to go take care of appointments!

emoticon

So on Tuesday we got up early and took the bus, we went down to get the paperwork, sign some papers, and walked to housing and turned in the paperwork. They told me that it would take anywhere from 2-7 days for the inspection and once the inspection passes then they would draw up a contract and then I would find out what my portion to pay for rent would be. There also was some very unfortunate events that took place but I am not going to take a lot of time on it. A person who I thought was a friend came over and wanted to cause drama and I just ended it so as they were leaving her and her hubby were saying some very hurtful things. My son was traumatized by their actions and I told them that if they came back over I would call the cops. The maintenance man heard everything and asked if I was okay. He told me I could make a report at the office and that if he saw them again he would call the cops as well. He also said we don't tolerate that here and you shouldn't have to deal with that. We just got new management and so far seems to be a good fit. Also I received a devotional on hope in the mail from my sister-in-law who is more of a sister than most of the ones I have. I have four of them by the way... It is a 365 day devotional... How awesome of her to think about me!

emoticon

So today I woke up a bit sore and tired... I have been packing like a frenzy!!!! I packed soooo much I ran out of packaging tape and I got only 8 more boxes left. So I messaged my box supplier, lol... And asked for some more boxes and by chance if she had some extra packaging tape. We've been here 6 1/2 years and boy I don't remember how hard it is to get everything packed and cleaned... It's a lot of work for one person!!! Anyways I think I over did it these last 3 days because my back is irritated and inflamed. So tonight is group night at church and I will be staying home taking it easy tonight. So far a very eventful week, I'd say.... So now I am waiting on housing.... Also I called financial aid about my award letter and they said I might not get it until mid July, which means I wouldn't be able to go summer term. So the lady told me to sign-up for summer classes and when July rolls around either call or drop by and see how far until I get my award letter. And if it's does happen to come mid July then drop all classes and no charge. That is only for the first 2 weeks though. So I figure if the Lord wants me to go summer term He will make a way and if not then I get to enjoy the summer with my son before going back to school.

emoticon

Oh by the way I am going for my AAS degree in Business Technology.... I will update you as often as I can....

I'm sorry some people tried to cause drama, but you did the right thing. No one has the right to be down on anyone.

What's happening!!!

Friday, May 10, 2013

Hello all, hope your week has been a good one! Mine has been a mixture of good and bad. So we were approved for housing and I have been online looking for a place and calling places. Let me tell you, there is not a whole lot of managers that will take housing in the South Salem, OR area. So on Tuesday, I had an appointment to check out an apartment. We drove up and all I can say is what a small shack. We waited for 10 extra minutes and then we left, the manager never even showed up. So we went to a place she suggested. They didn't have any availabilities and they also didn't take housing. I asked her if she knew anyone who did. And she handed me a sheet of places that had whether or not they accepted housing or not. She then asked me what I was looking for. So I told her I was looking for an apartment, duplex, and/or town home. She went over to her computer and said that she was helping at an apartment complex that accepted housing and she had to go by there anyway. So she showed me the place on the computer. It looked lovely!!! So we waited 5 minutes and then she drove us right there.

emoticon

She showed us the upstairs apartment first. It was nice, it was carpeted, the bathroom was small, not enough cupboard space, a small master bedroom closet, plenty of kitchen cupboard space, a big fridge and freezer, two balconies, lots of light, vaulted ceilings, and our bedrooms were right beside each other. We then checked out the laundry room that was down stairs. It's four flights of stairs so it's a ways up and down... Not so good with a toddler. So we were walking up the stairs to go checkout the other side where there was a downstairs apartment and as we were walking up I hit my head hard on part of the building. All I can say is ouch! It almost knocked me out... So we finally made it to the downstairs apartment. It was incredible!!!! The floor plan is way different... There's one bedroom right across from the door, which would be my son's room. So there would have to be a door guard on the door so he doesn't open the door and wander outside. Then there's the kitchen with a few less cupboards, a smaller fridge, a nice linen/pantry closet, a nice spacious bathroom with plenty of cupboard space on the bottom, two patios with a small back yard on each, a huge closet in the master bedroom, and two doors that open the master bedroom, a door that leads from the master bedroom to the bathroom and another door that leads to the hallway, and last but not least all hardwood floors. Can you guess which one I loved? Yes your right the downstairs one!!!

emoticon

So I got all the information on it and it fit into the housing budget! So we went to the agency filled out the application. I submitted all the other paperwork today that they called about, so I should hear something on Monday! The way it all happened is God ordained!!!! I know we got the place, just waiting for the agency to confirm it. So then what's left is housing to do there inspection and it will pass in Jesus name!!!! Then after it passes I give my 14 day notice and we're outta here, whoohooo!!!!

emoticon

So I have been downsizing and getting rid of a ton of stuff that I don't want to take with me when we move. I have been packing in Faith, knowing that it is just a matter of time before we move and I want to be ready!!! I also got another TADVS grant that['s good for 90 days but I won't need that many days. I believe we will be moved out by the end of this month!!!! So that is what I have been up to this week!!!! Have a great weekend all!!!!!!

That is wonderful news. I would have chosen the downstairs apartment too - especially with a little one. I used to live in Salem so I know that the availability can range from pretty pathetic to pretty nice places. Hope you hear and get to move into your new place quickly.
