Boy,can scrapbooking be a workout?!!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

It was SO MUCH FUN to get a whole day and night to scrap!!---12 hours! I got 12 pages done.It does not seem like much but that's DOUBLE my usual output.Talking, seeing others' pages, learning new techniques, showing off your own pages, is a part of what it's all about!! Plus I met a fellow quiller! Quilling is the art of paper ROLLING and gluing and forming basic shapes like circles, square, triangles, rectangles , marquises, teardrops, etc. into beautiful 3-D embellishments for scrapbook pages or cards or Christmas ornaments or even jewelry. When I learn how to put pictures up on this sparkpage,I'll include some. It's sometimes very time-consuming, but thr results are worth it! I plan to add it to my items that I make for my small home-based business. And plan to sell them on etsy and e-bay on scrappages. It's simply been a REJUVENATING day!!!! emoticon

Thats so cool... for years I collected all the materials to start scrapbooking then decided I'm more interested in card makeing and I never did much with that either. We pull it all out every so often and have fun with it. I love to make quilts, crochet, and knit. I have spare time at work so I can do hand work there.
I'm so glad you had a wonderful time and I wish you much success with your home based business. Its a great way to make some extra money.

Best of luck I'll have my fingers crossed for you. Way to go with being an older mom. Older moms have more patience, I'm raising my grandson and its sooooooo much easier this time around. He's 16 now wow! I told him he had to stop growing I'm not ready for him to be a grown man yet..LOL

It's fun to FINALLY see some definition to my core---I definitely have a two-pack stomach muscle group showing and finally, some transverse {side abdominal muscles} muscles are adding to sculpt me! I know, I know....I need to show my face....have to get hubby to show me how to put pictures on my profile, page, etc. ---another thing on my to- do list, but will eventually get to it! Hope all my sparkfriends enjoyed St. Patrick's Day!Had to send your goodies late;didn't think of that idea { until after delivering ice cream to my secret pal} yesterday before falling asleep!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thats wonderful I just started my weight training last week and I too feel the change, I also am walking with Leslie Sansone Oregon coast has rain nearly daily, so I can't get outside to walk everyday. I'm loving these changes. I have never been a person to exercise so much. I too am very competitive and this is a challenge with myself.. It's all very cool.

Happy St. Patrick's Day~Bittersweet!

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Today would have been my parents' 55th wedding anniversary. So, this holiday is a bittersweet one for me and my siblings for many years since my parents' passed long ago. However, I still join in the "wearin' o' the green" and had a special t-shirt designed with glittering shamrocks....
Today was a fun day for my toddler & I when we went to Amy's Farm in Ontario,CA. We got to milk a cow, pet the turkeys, chickens, goats and lambs they had there. We also got to feed a pig and some ducks. In addition to that we brushed a pony, saw a vegetable garden and got to feel the textures of different herbs and smell them-rosemary,oregano,lavender,mint,and majoram. I asked my toddler which animal or part of the tour he liked best and he said"everything'!!!!

Sounds like even in spite of missing your parents you and your son had a fabulous time at the farm. Reading your blog made me wish I was there also. Hang in there.

Good for you for remembering your parents and still celebrating Greeny Day! Losing loved ones is difficult but remembering them is fun and helps us heal from the loss. Glad you had a blessed day!

A great idea I got from another sparker was to set up "treats" when reaching goals.
Loss -5 lbs.=new workout top Goal met-X-Feb.2010
Loss-10 lbs.=special lingerie Goal met-X-Feb.2010
Loss-15 lbs.=a {limited} shopping spree at a new scrapbook store! {Us "scrappers" aka scrapbookers LOVE to find a new store or at least one that is new to them!}
Loss-20 lbs.=a pair of expensive new jeans
Loss-25 lbs.=a complete new outfit including shoes!
Right now I have lost 12.6 lbs. and have 12.4 to go!! IT FEELS GREAT TO SAY THAT!!!
And all the energy I have, not boundless like my toddler, but wonderful just the same{!},
is priceless when we're chasing each other and just having a good time!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
