Dear God~ A Prayer of Thankfulness!

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Dear God, Thank You for the gift of this day. may I use it wisely to honor and glorify You! I thank You for my family & our good health;for my son's grandma & her good health;for the opportunity & ability to Homeschool my child { I LOVE your planning !};for my hubby's job; for always answering my prayers,though it may not always be the answers I seek, YOU are ALWAYS THERE and know what I need BEFORE I ask it!
I pray for the baby whose mother was killed in the railroad tracks and that she will be cared for and nurtured along with her mother's memory by those that love her best. May she come to know You as her Saviour. In Jesus' name I pray~

Homeschooling Works for ME!~Mainly a day in the life BLOG for my Homeschooling Team

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Just started this year with Homeschooling my child and what a BLESSING it is!!!! We enjoy working together and I like to make learning FUN!!!! We start our day out with prayer ~that God would open our hearts for what He wants to teach us that day and then we do Bible Devotions{ a reading of Scripture from the Bible and a story from a Bible devotions book that follows the Scripture and then a few questions {for comprehension}. Then our basic books for basic skills and then writing practice and at the end~ my son chooses a topic he wants to learn about & then discuss! It is so much FUN to plan and all the creativity I can think of that go into my lessons is such a great outlet! God really put together a great combination of this teacher and little eager learner! We both LOVE it!!!!! ~~~ A toast to our Homeschooling Team from Pre-K to High School~ it is A WONDERFUL JOURNEY!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Great schedule! Wish I had more creativity, but I try to keep some of it very hands-on other than stuck in workbooks. The blend is good!

Remembering That Day ~9/11 Now Ten Years Later~

Sunday, September 11, 2011

Being a born-again Christian, I have read and studied the Bible~ particularly the Book of Revelation . So ,ten years ago when 9/11 occurred, I was not surprised except that it was so fast. I remember driving to work and hearing the news with shock and being numb . And then crying the whole day when viewing it on television @ work and later @ home. Trying to explain the shock of the news to my students that were asking and were only 7 yrs. old was a challenge that I never expected to encounter [another was the Challenger Space Shuttle in 1986 with my 6 yr. old students at the time] . Now, ten years later, I pray for those who lost loved ones and FOR OUR NATION because as a nation ,we are not turning towards God ,but away from Him . I pray that anyone who experiences loss of a loved one would come to the saving grace and knowledge of a personal relationship with Jesus. He CAN comfort and heal .To the people in the military and families of those in the military who fight for OUR FREEDOMS we enjoy every day, I salute you ,pray for your safe return and THANK YOU for giving the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE OF YOUR TIME AND YOUR LIFE FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!! Not many are willing to do what you do~ emoticonOur American flag~ I love her and what she represents~ our freedom to worship God because we still ARE ONE NATION UNDER GOD! And I pray for our nation to keep honoring God and turn TOWARDS Him and not away from Him.

    One of my boys was 7 at the time, and it was indeed hard to explain. We are not normally T.V. watchers, but that day I was GLUED to the T.V. and every time they showed the towers falling, my son would say, IT HAPPENED AGAIN [not understanding that they were just playing the footage again]. Of course, in retrospect, I really regret having them in on all that news coverage, but at the time, all I could think about was what had happened.

Happy Birthday to my Son~A Poem ~

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Behold,you are 4 today,my son~
Three is no more;
but there are {ROAR!} MORE
adventures in FUN
when you are 4!
We'll learn even MORE
about whales and dolphins,
and find new parks to explore!
Each new year brings something new;
past accomplishments @ 3 to remember ,too~
Potty training,t-ball, and My Gym, are a few,
Reading more intensely for specific information,
you AMAZE EVERYONE @ the library with your reading sensations!!!
You enjoy eating fish~10 different kinds,it's true
And trying out new dishes is a good habit you like to do!
You LOVE visiting Grandma and reading books in her lap,
And now only once in a while, you take a nap!
Quiet time in the afternoon is the order of the day,
So Mommy gets some chores done and you rest from all your daily play!
You excel at puzzles of all kinds and
love the outdoors,too!
To play in the water, sand, and dirt~
there is never enough time for you!
You ADORE taking baths because of the water
and your favorite whale spouting water toy,
Daddy & I love the songs you sing to yourself,
our precious little boy!
So, now we say good-bye to this age of three,
we loved it well ,but know it's to be~
Four will be an interesting world to explore
Because you are IN IT and ALWAYS want to KNOW MORE!!!!~~~~

With Love and Hugs and Kisses~Mommy emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonIn case you are curious~ here are the TEN kinds of fish in the order we tried them {Mommy always tried them first,except the last one he tried by HIMSELF!}
1.Halibut 2.Cod 3.Salmon 4.Trout 5.Sea Bass 6.Mahi Mahi 7.Wahoo[Ono] 8.Sockeye Salmon 9.Pollock and 10.Yellowtail~~~

    What a wonderful way to celebrate! You should print out a copy and scrapbook to it. (Of course you've probably already done that.) emoticon Happy Birthday to your "4" year old!
