"Taxing" My Strength!!!!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Went to tax guy today;not too bad! However, stopped @ Marie callender's for lunch and even with a 1/2 turkey sandwich & spring salad, it's 880 CALORIES!!! Add the cornbread and 1/3 a slice of pie and you're up to a daily requirement--1,200+ calories. Well, indulged myself anyway ,since I lost 2 lbs. in the last couple of days.... Glad I don't overdo like this anymore! Once I hit a 15 lb. loss, it's off on a [ limited] shopping spree at a new scrapbooking store!!!! It's GREAT to think I'm halfway there--only 12 lbs. to go!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Scrapbooking My Memories....

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

A theraputic way for me to remember a family member is to scrapbook. I've done many albumsand we even have a small home-based business, but nothing compares to doing your OWN scrapbook. It's a way to revisit your life, your past, your perecious memories that can't be taken away. I had already done some pages of my cat, but in-between tracking food and fitness, taking care of my hubby, toddler and house and my OTHER cat, I know I want to finish a special album. emoticon

The hurt is there but God,family, and all of you are there for me!

It hurts to lose a family member ,even when it is a family pet. I miss him so much!!!!! He was my constant companion, always nearby. We have another cat that we got at the local shelter at the same time~she's healthy, but overweight so I know we'll need to work on that little by little. She doesn't seem to be grieving like a cat we had before her,but somehow I know she knows. It does help to hold her, love her,and hear her purr. Everyone has been so supportive----THANK YOU ESPECIALLY~~~~MY SPARKFRIENDS AND EVERYONE WHO LEAVES A COMMENT--- you all are so generous with your time to think of me and that is very comforting. emoticon

It is very hard to lose a family pet. We lost all 3 of our basset hounds last year. The first in February, the second three weeks later and the third in October. It was devastating! We did get two new hounds in November, but it is different. We talk about the others all the time.

One of the worst weekends....

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Saturday started off with my toddler having to be taken to emergency for an ear infection and check-up on his persistent cough. Then , our cat had to go to the vet because he had trouble breathing and he's only five {he has been losing weight since Sept.2009 and the vets can't find the cause. We are having to decide to euthanize, but we put it off that morning. We got to have him with us for one last day and then, his breathing was becoming more labored , so we had to euthanize Saturday night. It's always hard for me to lose a pet....It does not get any easier with age because each cat is unique. I'm still sick;can't shake this stuffy nose. Tomorrow on Sunday we tell our young 2 and 1/2 yo his kitty isn't there anymore.... At least our toddler is better, praise God{!} . This has been one of the worst weekends, and oddly enough, I didn't overdose on food.

Oh I am sorry for your loss.. We had to put our little dog down in January and our big dog is so old we just keep her with us until she's in pain then we will have to decide. Our cat has a breathing problem too she sounds like she has such a hard time, and she's allergic to the flea treatments.. She foams at the mouth. It's quite scary at first now we know better...
I'm so glad your little one is feeling better and I hope you feel better soon.. take care my friend and heres to a better week.

I'm so sorry about your cat. I'm also sorry you are sick, but very glad your toddler is doing better. S and I are now sick, but L is doing better but still has a cough.

What to say today?

Saturday, March 13, 2010

I'm still stuffy nosed and I trying to take care of a dying cat-really! He's only five years old and the vets can't figure out why he won't eat. It's so hard to see my cat waste away. For me, cats have and always will be a part of our family. It's like they're kids ,too. They get into mischief{a name of another cat I had had} and they love unconditionally and they mess up your stuff, furniture, etc.! Now, my toddler's up and Daddy says he has an earache so,I'll sign off....
