I use Meletonine.. you can get it in the vitamine section of your store.. don't go spending lots of money on it.. some companies think they should charge a lot for it... we picked up a bottle for less that $6.00 but there were some for over $20.00 also I lay on my back and take a deep breath hold it for a few seconds and then just relax my body as I breath out.. I tell myself to relax and try not to think of anything... sometimes counting backwards helps... I don't know why buts it like counting sheep..LOL I hope you can find a cure and get some rest soon... Ronie

P.S I just read what you wrote in your comments section... maybe you could darken your sons room so he would sleep a little longer.. or maybe take a nap with him in the early morning or afternoon.. what ever works with your schedual...

This is hard! I had night sweats during the years that our youngest had undiagnosed sleep seizures and I felt like a zombie for much of the time.

What often worked for me was getting up, wrapping up in a blanket and reading for a while. Within 15 minutes, I usually couldn't keep my eyes open. Lying in bed, trying to sleep just made me more anxious and awake!

Hope you figure out a solution!

I must say that these were hard years for me. Always sleep deprived. Maybe taking a nap with the kids may help--if they nap. Praying for you.

I tried a hot shower & very warm pjs after I worked on my two fleece blankets [posted photos on gallery] .Either b/c I was exhausted or very warm [a sleep inducer for me that USUALLY works but hasn't lately!] and FELL ALSEEP ! After 2 hours more,my 3 yo woke me up! emoticonI need more than 4~hours of sleep ,that is!!

If you find one, let me know. I have the same problem and sometimes I can get back to sleep, sometimes I can't. One of the things that works sometimes is too just lay there and concentrate on my breathing. It sounds weird, but it works sometimes.

The Cookies are Attacking ! What is YOUR BEST DEFENSE?

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

emoticon emoticonI have done well through Thanksgiving & Christmas and now~I am better physically with my Sinuitis and Bronchitis=GONE & Asthma+under control! However, now my sweet tooth is becoming overbearing! HELP!

Note: I never would have had this prepared dough[2 containers of it!] in the freezer if I hadn't purchased it for a cookie-bake that no one was able to come to! A neighbor's child was selling it for a fundraiser for his school. I bought it in Oct. so it has to be used up!Resolution #1---To stop buying any FOOD from any school fundraisers! Of course---it's ALL MY FAULT!!! I DIDN'T have TO PURCHASE IT! Or bake it Or eat it!

There must be something going on with the whole sweet tooth thing. I would say bake then (have one) and give the rest to a spousal abuse shelter, homeless shelter, or something. I know at my house we would (and do) eat them.

Next time, you could buy it (if you wanted to support the cause) and then gift it to someone who isn't worried about eating cookies? emoticon

I have a deadly sweet tooth, lol. I keep fruit around, berries, pears, etc., to help and I'll also keep some dark chocolate in the cupboard just in case it's overbearing. Also a cup of tea with a little honey helps. But honestly, I hit the protein first and foremost if I have a sweet craving....amazingly enough, protein will stave off sugar cravings. Good luck!

Now that they are grown, it would have to be the time we spend just shooting the breeze, sharing, praying. I love my kids!

My favorite thing to do with my kids is EAT with them! They're adults now. It sure seems they TALK a lot more when they have good food to eat! emoticon

I like family time the best.. it doesn't matter what we are doing as long as its together.. that is the time my son will open up and start talking... we have some great conversations.

My angels are now teens, so we hike, play arcades, and other activities. I miss the snuggle/story time. I still snuggle some with them. I know that soon that too will pass. DS is nearly 14 and DD is nearly 17. emoticon They will leave me too soon, but they are great kids.

My children are teenagers now but when they were little it was bath time. I used to put their towels in the dryer and when they were ready to get out I would wrap them up in a nice hot towel and we would snuggle and read a book together just like that. I will remember that forever, especially now that they are in that horrid teenage yuck.....

What a sweet response! My favorite thing is to just be with the kids, they are almost 13 (on the 21st of jan) and almost 16 (on 22nd of March). So just to be able to be in the same room with them whether we are playing a board game, playing the Wii (one of my many favorite), or just having a movie night. The time itself is the best.

definitely pizza, breaded and fried pork cutlets (not that they are around often, but after a holiday when they've been made), and another seasonal food: stuffing. Notice, unfortunately, there are no vegetables on that list :(

I love cold pizza! LOL Not thinking of much else besides fried chicken and pizza cold. Doesn't sound healthy so maybe it is a good thing the list is short! LOL Oh, I know! Bean and cheese burritos! See...good thing the list is short!

That is truly a blessing when your husband notices you have lost weight and tells you! My husband just says you know you don't have to loose weight to look sexy. I know that is good to that he isn't attracted to me for how much I weight, but to me losing 45 lbs is quite an accomplishment and I guess when ever the guy that runs the tanning salon I go to notices, then you would just like for your husband to notice. I love feeling good about myself, but maybe I am just asking for too much recognition and being happy with myself should be all that really matters? Anyway, enough about me! Congratulations on your accomplishments! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
