When I Look In the Mirror, I Still CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ME!!!!!!

Monday, July 12, 2010

Yesterday after meeting with In-laws Family to celebrate my son's cousin's birthday and talking about weight loss and Sparkpeople [they hadn't seen me for a year], as I looked in the mirror at myself, I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ME!!!!
Why do our eyes and mind not accept it as readily??? My body is healthier ,I am the same me BUT NOT THE SAME!!! I have a different mindset and lifestyle change NOW!!!!
I go by the stores with the smaller size clothes in them and it HITS ME!!! I-YES, I--- CAN GO IN THERE NOW and actually SHOP FOR CLOTHES!!!!
I keep thinking--it's been a month now --on the MAINTENANCE ROAD ,that is, and I keep wondering, will the pounds stay off???? But they HAVE STAYED OFF because I KNOW to EXERCISE EVERY DAY--get in deliberately --through a workout--or by the wayside--gardening, biking or like yesterday ,follow my child around{for TWO HOURS!!]--we were at a kids' playgym for climbing, jumping and moving in a padded environment!
I NEED to REALIZE ~~~~this IS FOREVER!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That's so exciting and fun to read! I'm thrilled for you!

I find I don't see "the fat one" in the mirror so I'm hating it when she seems to show up in the photos or windows I walk by. Hmmmm... where did she come from?

I'm so happy you can really enjoy your new "Self" what a treat... I can't wait. How is maintenance going. Do you weigh everyday or still once a week. I read where you should weigh everyday to keep from gaining any back.. but I'm not sure thats true. So I bet the in-laws were thinking you look great.. I bet they were surprised by your energy too...

What do you like to COLLECT?

Sunday, July 11, 2010

I answered a sparkfriend's blog about shopping for Christmas EARLY by knowing favorite collections that family members have. Mine include: Gone With The Wind memorabilia, lighthouses--not necessarily lil' statues but things with light houses on it--pictures,needlepoint, and my favorite--a lighthouse clock of 12 different lighthouses pictured and the sound of each lighthouse on the hour--although I take out the batteries from time to time for no sound!--and cat stautes from different states/countries I visited as a child-CA, MO, NY, OK,Canada, Germany, Italy ,Holland,Austria.
My young son collects ocean life toys, stuffed animals, and frogs-REAL and toys.
My hubby loves reading and has an extensive library on apoplogetics-defending our Christian faith.
What is YOUR favorite thing to collect ????? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Betsy great blog... did I mention my dolls? my grandmother on my dad's side gave me an antique doll from the neatherlands when I was a small girl. That was the begining of my collecting.. most of my dolls are antiques, but some were given to me by very special people and they fit right in with the old ones.. makes for a special collection.
I have quite a few Lighthouses too.. I love them, my husband and I came to the coast when we were just dating and fell in love. Thats when we bought our first lighthouse.. and its grown from there most my husband has bought for me. So that makes it extra special.
I'm going to be checking back.. I love to see what other people collect..

Mine isn't necessarily quick, but it is convenient and allows me to multitask. I have an under-the-desk cycler. It fits under the table where I have my laptop, so I can use it and do SP at the same time, or go through my prayer list that I have a folder for in my email.

What's Your Solution To A Messy Room?

Friday, July 09, 2010

I have been fighting this too-small room for TOO LONG!!!! [It is 8' 7" X 10' with a sliding closet that is deep and I have vertical storage ;it's just not enough!} It was a guest room now converted into a beautiful scrap room which periodically gets messy! To anyone who is a "CLEANIE" {I used to be and am working my way back...} what are your suggestions for getting it cleaned up and maintaining to KEEP it clean? It may be a basic answer ,but I want any creative solutions YOU USE that help you! HELP!!!! emoticon

I'm a thrower. I hate clutter. But for the important stuff. I have a file cabinet (2) that stack on top of each other. I have important papers on one and misc.. stuff in the other.. son also has 2 and they house all kinds of stuff.. I also have a entertainment center in the office.. The new tv doesn't fit in it and I use it to hold magazines and mixed media stuff. I also have a tote for my crochet and a closet with a nice box for all stuff I don't use each day.. I sure hope you can get it all taken care of it feels so good when the job is done.

You need to pick a spot and just start going through everything. I always have a trash bag or box nearby for the things you no longer need/want and then piles for sorting or other action(s). Once that section is finished pick another one! I usually just start working from left to right. If the worst is in the closet area just haul everything out and start there!

Well, if it was children's mess, I would suggest a garage broom, and then tell them to get what they want since the rest is going in the trash!

Since it is not, it is harder, and it does sound like time to get rid of some things. That can be hard, but if you haven't used it in a couple of years, it is unlikely to be ever used again.

I have a messy room because we have cleaned out every other room and all the boxes are in my room. This is soon going to come to an end. We are cleaning out a downstairs storeroom so these boxes can go down their until time to price things for a rummage sale. I also purchase a TALL shelf,at a rummage sale, to put things on that I believe need to be in my room.
Hope this gives you some ideas. emoticon

I know this is not what you want to hear, but you need to go through and get rid of things.(See, I know that's not what you wanted to hear!) You can't organize clutter.

After you really, seriously get rid of the things that are not useful or beautiful, organize what is left in boxes that fit on your storage shelves, with no wasted space. This next step is very important- put detailed labels on each box with exactly what is in it. When you work in there, get down only what you are using and put it away when you are done. It might be left messy for a bit while you are scrapping around your toddler's naps, but try to keep it picked up.

Really basic, but it's what I do with my sewing stuff.

When I first met my husband he was wearing a t shirt that said."My Grass is Blue"
I was wondering what kind of grass was that... my mind instantly went illeagal... lol
Then I found out he has a degree in Blue Grass music.. and fell in love .....

The one I like is " I know I'm fat but your ugly I can do something about me but your stuck..." thats for all those who make fun of over weight people...
