Oh Happy May!

In a week I'll be measuring those inches and noting how much "inching" my turtle has done! I couldn't BELIEVE he inched again! But I looked over the past months of strength training and cardio workouts vs. calories taken in{Calorie Differential Chart Over Time} and I could see the difference in AMOUNTS of FOOD AND AMOUNTS of EXERCISE that show Feb. is very different from April. Also.now I know the LONGER one is in a weight-setting goal mindset ,the HARDER it can become than when you FIRST STARTED!! But i am JAZZED that I'm still losing!!!--just a little longer between amts. of time than when I first started but HEY--I'm in it for the LONG HAUL!!! AND CONGRATS to IOWASHUTTERBUG---READ her recent blog about motivation--A size 14 to a size 10!!! _It's VERY inspiring!!!!Happy May to all ---a fresh month for a fresh start with fresh flowers!!Can you tell I love to garden?!!     I love the title of your blog. I'm all for May and glad April is over - very stressful month on many fronts and glad its over so I can try to focus on ME again.

    I was just in my record page and was looking at my diferential I found a 1 day at a time page. The week long page doesn't help me much. I still like to write things down with pen and paper. That way I can fuss over it...LOL
I hope May is great for you. You have done such a great job and are one of my most up beat spark friends.. Its always fun reading your blogs.

Seeing that turtle icon {slow and steady ,the pounds STAY OFF!} inching his way down the football field {it's 10 and GOAL!} is EXCITING!!! I didn't expect to get past 177 til May{weighed myself-April 30th -early that morning and blogged at midnight } as I listed in an earlier blog about April being one of my LEARNING or RESETTING MINDSET month!
Thanks from all those who uplifted me with your comments !!! I want to try and personally thank everyone ,but I'm cutting my time on the computer so I will spend the days off my hubby has w/ toddler & hubby.I tend to only get to those on the friend feed directly but YOU ALL ARE IMPORTANT AND THANK YOU!!!! emoticonOne thing I learned yesterday at a meeting of ladies--some of whom I had never met---That when you tell of your wt. loss ,EVERYONE REJOICES with you!!!!     Congratulations! Finding the balance in life is always tough. I struggle constantly with how much time to devote to this healthy lifestyle endeavor!

    I'm glad you are making your family a priority, We are in a wonderful support and positive life changing program but our main goals are to be happy and enjoy our lives. Learning THE HARD WAY--Baby Steps to RESETTING my MINDSET!!!

I'm still working on the song-my hubby and I bet some of you -rolling the eyes!!!----But for today--APRIL has been the month for learning the HARD WAY some things I thought I HAD ALREADY LEARNED!!!
---Don't BAKE UNHEALTHY items!!----You'll Eat THEM while baking and if you have leftovers you still can't get yourself to THROW THEM OUT!!!!
--Don't buy items for the toddler that HE can eat & YOU CAN"T b/c YOU"LL EAT THEM!!!--No more homemade pizza--while it was GREAT-TASTING, forgot I didn't make 2-like the label says, so the calories DOUBLED!
--MAKE yourself EXERCISE {SOLOflex machine} when hubby has days off!!!!
--Stop trying to RATIONALIZE when you eat over your caloric range--"well, I'll make up for it!"
--And ABOVE ALL--KEEP LOOKING AT YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS SO FAR---You'll do it!!--Just not in this month or the next ,but emoticonand you WILL!!!!!
Note to SParkers-I need to yell at myself now & then!!! :)--Gets me off my duff!!!

    I had to laugh. My youngest asked me this morning to bake some chocolate chip muffins. Went to Spark Recipes to find a recipe. Tried to make them a little more healthy with oatmeal (justification). Ended up eating a muffin in dough and a baked one (just to try it out). Not a good start to a healthy Spark day.

Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to know there's someone with me making the easy & non healthy choices.

I've been reading some different blogs on challenging yourself and I think it's time I challenge myself ---so since I'm wanting to start small---I'm just going to finally program my new pedometer I got w/ the Walk Slim DVD and finally put the All Fired UP by Coach Nicole in the DVD player and WORKOUT to new levels---this will challenge my body enough for right now--.Baby steps,always a good thing when starting out with something new.... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
