What are you doing now? Sometimes, you have to just LAUGH!!!Sunday, April 25, 2010
I asked my 2 yo the above question as I was starting to sit to write this blog,and he replied"I'm making a mess!!!!" ----Which was true--but not that bad--fishstick crumbs on the floor. But I thought about how many times he sees me get upset and I had to LAUGH and say "yes, you are making a mess ,but I'll help you clean it up!!" Those little ears are ALWAYS listening as well as little eyes are always WATCHING and TAKING IT ALL IN!!! it can be a little unnerving ,but then you have a BEAUTIFULLY BEHAVED ANGEL SON day like Friday--and you BEAM ![]()

That is so great! Thanks for sharing that humorous story. My 5 year old likes to make lots of messes by getting out her toys--and lots of them! She had some stacked crates in her room and called it her "put stuff onner" because she puts lots of stuff on them. Kids are so funny! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Thanks for sharing this wonderful blog. Being a mom helps us understand how God must feel when we get it right and share our "toys" or turn the other cheek. Great parenting!!!

As I'm trying to fit my blog in for the next day before I go to bed,one of my cats {a kitten my hubby got from the local shelter } is sitting ON the computer looking at me seemingly saying--what's more important than playing w/ME?{ as my scratched up hands and legs can attest to....}
Or my toddler,earlier in the day,saying Mommy ,come play w/ME!! No more computer and more loudly--the 2nd time!--Get off the computer!
Or my husband,saying I'll get a t-shirt that says SPARKPEOPLE so you'll talk to ME and pay attention !!
Have I been on THAT much? I'm just logging in my food....and chatting or commenting on friends' blogs or getting points or checking secrets or reports or keeping with streaks and goals or huddling or staying up too late to log on next day's blog to save time?! I think I HAVE gotten accustomed to the computer's face...gotta go to bed!!! Does this happen to you? What do you do fellow -sparkers? I did try a timer ON the computer but....Oh,does being on the computer LESSEN after you reach your goal weight?

it's interesting that you have that problem--I do too on and off again. Yes it's easier once you lose weight...(although I'm still struggling with how much to be on)--it is important though for the people in your life to not feel neglected. You don't really want your child growing up thinking that all they see is the back of Mom's head while she's at the computer (trust me, I feel that way about my dad)--you have to do what works for you--which means trying lots of different things until you find out what that is. I have to be on lots in order to keep focused...but sometime I do just let it all go and just hang out with people--in the end, they are more important than any website. Maybe making an effort to w/o with hubby (walking, going to the gym whatever)--will help him feel not so neglected...and showing your toddler what you're doing--or letting him do parts--like clicking to spin the wheel or whatever--will help incorporate them into the computer-time so to speak--and hopefully it helps :) It is hard--I feel your pain! I do not however, feel any sympathy for the cat. lol Report Inappropriate Comment |

I could be on here all the time actually so I try to limit myself to time during the day when I'm working...while we are slow I get to do a lot! And a little at night just to log my food for the day. Not so much on weekends...just to log food and to check in on people. But I get yelled at if I am on here too much. Just glad my son is away at school or I would never ever get on at home...he'd have it all tied up! Hope you have a great weekend!

I love Spark People, and not just the site but the people. I have gotten so much encouragement from it. But remember, Jesus died that we might live more fully. So sometimes we need to leave the computer and enjoy our blessings.

I get that too, especially from my 5yo. Remember though that the benefits your family will gain with a healthy you will pay off in the end. (At least that's what I tell myself) Report Inappropriate Comment |
