I'm now a member of Tall Ladies Sparkteam for those who are 5'9" and taller! I have a feeling I'll probably be finding as I go along, more teams....I LOVE my Late-In-Life Mommies team as well as my homeschooling teams and Christian--Putting Christ first--Teams-as I'm a born-again Christian, too! I also love scrapbooking, using the Cricut machine{the Cricuteers team},andGone With The Wind movie fan{Fans of Gone With The Wind team}. I didn't list my hobbies on my page as the teams say it all! And all the teams are GREAT!!!! They are SO SUPPORTIVE!!! And I meet many of my sparkfriends on them!!!WHat is your Favorite or favorites Team/s and why?     finding a team that is worth staying with is like shopping for clothes, you really need to try them on. I have a few that I got when I started. and I have a few that I deleted and new ones that I have joined. I am trying to keep it down so I can be a great team mate and not spread myself too thin.. We are super busy on weekends and during the summer we take long weekends and just enjoy where we live. I'm trying to get the amount of time I spend in here cut in half.. I seem to be here most of the day... lol I also have my hobbies that I don't seem to get too. I hope you are able to enjoy all your teams.. they sound like a lot of fun.

Well, there are lots and lots of SparkTeams. However, you have to find the ones that you enjoy and can participate in. If you are on too many (one lady was on over 150 of them) you cannot possibly participate very much.

Seems like there's an awful lot of them!! I have joined some, hung around for a while, then left due to it either wasn't what I thought it was, little (or in one case, almost no) activity, or it just didn't fit what I was looking for. But I still have the friends that I met there, so it wasn't a total loss.

I would have to say that my favorite team is my "local" one, Northeast Arkansas. I've met people there that don't really live that far from me, and plan to actually meet some of them in person in the not-to-far future.

I'm always checking out new teams, because as I meet and change my goals, my needs change and I may join others. I have NEVER had so much support and encouragement with my weight loss as I have here!!

Have a Terrific Tuesday!!

I recommend "Wiifat" - it's comedy AND exercise combined!

I love to have a laugh AND stay fit too!

Have a look at my profile page for more info - you'ld be MORE than welcome to join the fun! :)

P.S. I can't join the team you mentioned - at 5' 6" I may be tall for a hobbit, but not for a human I reckon! :D

I think you can't be on too many Spoarkteams, the more you are on, the more support you will have. We all need support!!!!!! i need to look at my Sparkteams again, I have some that aren't very active. Look who' s talking!!! I feel like I haven't been very active. Have a Wonderful Day, my friend!!!

Stick to your guns and keep with your goals!!!!!

Why do some people like to sabotage your best efforts? I'm talking friends, siblings {but not my hubby & son},co-workers,etc. And then it hits me !!!----They're not on the same"plane" of activity or MINDSET we are in the SP community!!! Besides my secret pal, there are those people ,who for whatever reason: jealousy ,envy, lack of structure or success in their own lives, don't WANT to see YOU SUCCEED!!! Well, i try to distance myself from them or point out this is a new lifestyle, not a diet change ..... Is this happening to you, too? How do you handle it? I'm looking for inventive ways to tell them TO BACK OFF!!!! emoticonHELP!!!!!

Part of it is that what you are doing they are taking as commentary on their lifestyle which they don't want to give up.

I don't know, but I think I would have to say loudly where maybe your secret pal could hear or someone else can tell them that you love the gifts...but you can't eat them!! And yea some people just don't get it and will never. They can't succeed so they don't think other's can either! Keep up the great work!!

Tell them gently, but firmly that this is your new lifestyle choice and you refuse to listen to negative talk. If they choose to be negative, then they force you to avoid time with them. You may have to follow through on that. I had that problem in the past.

You are on a good journey. Keep it up. emoticon

Keep YOUR HANDS busy!!!

Sunday, April 18, 2010

As another "secret" I'm logging in,I thought about this yesterday as my toddler & I were busy ALL AFERNOON {before & AFTER his nap , of course!} constructing a fingerpainted underwater picture with coral, kelp, shallow and deep seas. Then, 3-D sea life-Moray eel, hammerhead shark, dolphin, angelfish and a whale, put together w/ paper bag material and cotton balls sealed inside for 3-D effect.{Sometimes having been a schoolteacher comes in handy!!!These were the type of art activities I used to do in the class....} Anyway, my toddler was having a BLAST and I noticed not as much eating going on--hands too busy. Then I thought of all the hobbies I love to do {including my newest one--Making jewelry!} that keeps my hands/body BUSY and OUT OF THE FOOD!See if you have any similar interests----
crocheting, making REAL EGG ornaments, needlepoint, embroidery, counted cross-stitch,reading ,Learning Bible verses and discussing the Bible in our Bible studies ,latch hook, scrapbooking,quilling,,gardening--both container and crop-growing, drying our own herbs[that takes SOME WORK w/the mortar & pestle!!],tennis, softball,snow-skiing,baking bread or other healthy dishes, playing with my toddler, playing w/ our cats, spending time w/ my hubby and we usually include running or biking in our pursuits. Maybe of these hobbies or recreational sports will "spark" your interest!!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Lately the one hobbie I have been doing everyday is my walking DVD I feel great when I do it and I'm ready to go an extra mile. who knows I might be up to 5 miles by Christmas.

As Sparkers,we NEED SUPPORT outside of SP as well!!!

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Well, my secret pal tried again to sabotage my diet, though SHE doesn't think so....sent me South Beach Living Mint Choc.bars ---ate 4 in 1 day and gave the other 2 to toddler.I have to talk to the person in charge and put a stop to this....But what I wanted to say was MY HUSBAND IS THE MOST SUPPORTIVE of all my efforts.People in my life like that secret"pal" and my family has misguided notions on food or at least, what THEY"RE eating and it spills into my life.I KNOW MYSELF and I CAN'T STOP at 1 serving. {I don't like throwing it away either!} Anyway, for the last 3 days, my hubby has been so SUPPORTIVE in taking care of our 2 yo so I can enjoy so hobby/chatting time with friends and new acquaintances. I've started a new hobby--Jewelry Making--in addition to all my other ones-{I'll list another time}.Due to my husband's GENEROUS gifts of TIME and OPPORTUNITY to rejuvenate myself AWAY from the computer,I'm ready for a new week of calorie-counting,logging in,and evaluating food choices, etc. THANK YOU GOD the GIFTof my SUPPORTIVE HUSBAND---proud of my accomplishments and rewarding me!!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

your are so right we need support around us all the time. None of us are over weight because we crave lettuce...LOL
My hubby is trying too he just doesn't get it. Today he came home with cinnomon rolls. I said what part of my eating plan do these fall into??? he said he checked and they are only 140 calories. I gave in,pilsbury in a can. He was so cute checking to see if I would be able to indulge. At least he went shopping at breakfast time so I can arrange to have the room for them at dinner time. Ha I already said it "them" I hope I can stop at 1 maybe I'll need to walk an extra mile just incase...LOL
