Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!! Hope everyone is enjoying family and friends, and some food too.
I just got back from a 35 minute walk with our dog, Scout. It's about 35 degrees here in upstate NY and trying to snow. Not unpleasant but did have to bundle up a bit for the walk.
Trying to follow my mantra for today "Before you eat, move your feet!" from one of the SP Coaches.
This morning, I did the recipe calculator on most of our favorite family recipes for our Thanksgiving dinner this afternoon. Yikes, what an eye-opener! I should be able to enjoy everything, in moderation, and will skip a few non-essentials (like the store-bought dinner rolls). Next year, I will make a few changes - like using "raw" sweet potatoes for the base of my "tipsy sweet potatoes" (and not use canned, even in the lite syrup). Also use plain bread cubes for our stuffing - not the seasoned - it just tastes salty, even tho the sodium isn't screamingly high.
Also I have to share that I have used the Nutrition Tracker to pre-enter all my intended foods for the "feast", to know what's reasonable & what's not. I'm not missing anything I want!! :)
Enjoy the day! Among many other things in my life (mostly my family), I am also grateful for finding SparkPeople (thanks to a wellness nurse practioner). It's really helping!! THANKS SP!!
