Good Week

Sunday, February 12, 2012

I had a great 2nd week at eating right. I was down 4 lbs. Yay! Sure wish it came off as fast as it goes on. haha!! I have really kept on top of tracking what goes in my mouth. I am also trying to get off my butt and at least walk around, or do some moving around.

Wow, I have been gone...

Thursday, February 09, 2012

Been gone a long time!!! I have logged in most of the time but haven't done anything else. My knee is all healed up (should be it's been 15 months. But I have neglected myself over that period of time. I just signed up with WW, I have been eating healthy and moving a little bit. I will try to check in more often.

Hi Sparkfriends. I just logged in for the 1st time since 9/27. Knee surgery went well. I was in the hospital 3 1/2 days, couldn't get out of there soon enough. Got me up on the 1st day but the drugs made me sick. I have a nurse coming 2 times a week, think her last day is tomorrow and a physical therapist that comes 3 X. She has made me cry a few times. The incision is healing and I am not feeling the pain I was before the surgery. Still have a long way to go but I think in the long run it will have been a good choice. Thanks to all those who sent me good wishes and prayers and their stories it did help. I am only able to sit at the computer a little at a time but hope to be back to logging in each and every day again. Have a wonderful Sunday. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know what you're going through. I had both my knees replaced, one at a time though.
It is painful, but once you get your knee working again, it is wonderful to be able to walk without pain. I am praying for your quick recovery. So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother-in-law. Take care. God bless you. emoticon emoticon

Wishing you a very quick & easy recovery! Do what your therapist tells you even when it hurts. Moving your knee will keep the scar tissue from building up, etc. We see lots of total knee replacements at work-even had a couple of people who did both at the same time! Take care & relax while you can. emoticon Kim

Now what????

Monday, September 27, 2010

Hi All... well I'm a bit nervous today. I will be having knee replacement surgery on my left knee tomorrow. I'm bummed as I have logged in 41 days in a row, now I will have to start over again, plus I don't know how long it will be before I am able to get on the computer.... 2-3 days in hospital. Then you are in bed with some kind of machine working your knee. I have to look at this as life changing.... to be able to walk without pain, that will be a WOW. Keep me in your prayers. Hope to be back soon. Thank you all for your constant support.

I will be thinking of you and praying for you. I have had both of my knees replaced, so I know what you are going through. It is an awesome feeling once the healing is completed. I have been so happy to be able to walk without a cane and to be pain-free. We dont use machines here to exercise the knee, we just do the exercises on our own. They have us up and walking the day after the surgery, and we learn how to go up and down the stairs one step at a time, etc., and then go through 6 weeks of phyiotherapy to get the knee working right. Good luck and God bless you.

Sending thoughts & prayers your way for a speedy recovery! We see lots of patients with total knee replacements and most do quite well as long as they do their home exercises. Take care of yourself & I'll be thinking of you. emoticon

Best of luck on your surgery. My DH is to have the same on Jan. 15. Think of this a the start of a new life without pain. Then it can be the start of a new thinner life, too, because exercise will be that much easier.

I'll pray for your surgery to be as easy on you as possible, and completely successful.
