When did eating healthy become synonymous with eating gross crap?

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

This is a post I did today about the weird, gross concoctions health and fitness experts want to pass off on us as "treats." Another rant, of course! ;-)

Plus Size?!!!

Thursday, January 10, 2013

This blog post I wrote earlier today for my website. It's about the ludicrous and harmful sizing in the modeling and marketing industries with a video on a gorgeous "Plus Size" model that is making a splash right now.

The one in which I remember I'm going to Disney World, am shocked by weighing food rather than using a volume measure, and tell the tale of hip hop class

I weigh my food too and it's amazing how inaccurate other forms of measurement are.

Disney World sounds fun and the perfect motivator for staying on track. emoticon

The one in which I decide that I need to reduce my calories or I may scream

sometimes our bodies have to take a bit of time to adjust to the changes we are making... and we plateau... sometimes it takes eating a little bit more to fuel the exercise...
hopefully you are using the trackers and they can show your difference between what you eat and what you burn, which can vary depending on the exercise you are doing..

be patient - you'll read many blogs about people being on plateaus for sometimes a long time and then the weight starts coming off again..

remember too that weight is the most fickle indicator of progress - do you feel stronger? is there more room in your clothes?? drink water and sleep a lot - both help!

A lot of times when you don't lose the weight there is a change in the body measurements? Are you at a plateau? I'm sure you'll find out where the glitch is and fix it.

I find it's hard to lose weight if I go any higher than 1400 calories a day. The key is to pick voluminous foods and drink lots of water. emoticon
