When I first started my journey there were many naysayers, who gave me a million reasons why I could not do this. The ever popular "you wont have enough time" was a common one. But I chose to make the time,I treated exercise like work. I didnt "call out sick" or "no show" without very good reasons. People would want me to do things during my exercise time I simply told them no, I have to be at the gym then. I got a lot of grief at times especially if the person on the other end was wanting a favor, but it has been worth it.
Another excuse "You work that crazy night shift, people on that shift gain weight not lose it" A mostly true analogy, but doable if you put some effort into training your body. You have to keep it on a healthy eating schedule and still work out, sometimes after working all night but I promise it WILL be worth it.
"What will you do with the kids?" Find a gym that has childcare hours for the youngest and allows teens to work out. My success has instilled great behaviors in them as well :)
At the beginning I was also dating a man who was controlling and did not want me going to the gym because "you must be trying to find someone else" I finally got enough courage up to tell him where to go and started this journey for my overall well-being and health. It is so rewarding to be this far, though I still have 10 pounds until I reach my original goal of 100 pounds, I feel very accomplished. Just wanted to let everyone know that MANY people will try to hold you down, put if you get your head right YOU CAN DO THIS!
