12 pant sizes gone :)

Monday, October 08, 2012

This month has been full of awesome weight related changes. I discovered that I can now wear a 14 in jeans vs the 26's I used to wear, and Med/lg shirts compared to the 3x tops. emoticon And even more exciting my nursing scrubs have been replaced with med and lg now too, compared to the 2 and 3X I was wearing 9 months ago. I honestly never believed I would ever be able to lose this much weight and I thank everyone who has supported me.My family, coworkers, and this site! I now believe anything is possible. I hope to get down to a size 8 before the summer of 2013! I will keep you posted emoticon

Thanks everyone! It has taken 10 months so far, I am still debating on the skin removal once I reach my 2nd goal of 40 pounds. It is very costly but I do have some excess in my tricep area and of course abdomen. I read a story on here of a lady who had it done and she lost 116 the skin removal only took her down 2 still researching and debating. Good Luck NIKKICOLE83 Im sure you CAN do it!

emoticon emoticon You are amazing!!! Good for you. You should be extremely proud. How long did it take? Are you going to have any excess skin removed? Sorry so many questions but I ultimately want to lose 90 pounds and I like the insight of successful people.

Don't ever let anyone tell you it's impossible

Friday, August 17, 2012

When I first started my journey there were many naysayers, who gave me a million reasons why I could not do this. The ever popular "you wont have enough time" was a common one. But I chose to make the time,I treated exercise like work. I didnt "call out sick" or "no show" without very good reasons. People would want me to do things during my exercise time I simply told them no, I have to be at the gym then. I got a lot of grief at times especially if the person on the other end was wanting a favor, but it has been worth it.
Another excuse "You work that crazy night shift, people on that shift gain weight not lose it" A mostly true analogy, but doable if you put some effort into training your body. You have to keep it on a healthy eating schedule and still work out, sometimes after working all night but I promise it WILL be worth it.
"What will you do with the kids?" Find a gym that has childcare hours for the youngest and allows teens to work out. My success has instilled great behaviors in them as well :)

At the beginning I was also dating a man who was controlling and did not want me going to the gym because "you must be trying to find someone else" I finally got enough courage up to tell him where to go and started this journey for my overall well-being and health. It is so rewarding to be this far, though I still have 10 pounds until I reach my original goal of 100 pounds, I feel very accomplished. Just wanted to let everyone know that MANY people will try to hold you down, put if you get your head right YOU CAN DO THIS!

Like I read in another blog, once you do it they'll ask, "How did you do it???" And there you are, only 10 lbs away from your goal. How fantastic that must feel. GREAT work, and keep it up. Thanks for sharing - you motivated me after a rough day!!!

Compliments Can Make a Day

Tuesday, May 08, 2012

How many of you LOVE receiving compliments? I know I sure do emoticon But how many of us GIVE compliments? I know I have slacked in that department more than a few times. Many times in the past I have noticed a co-workers hair-cut, weight loss, or a\other milestone and didnt even say a word emoticon But I have decided to take the challenge of at least complimenting one person per day!
What reason do I have for this? There have been many times over the past few weeks that I have felt down about my plateau, or just in weight loss in general, and out of no where comes a stranger at the gym to tell me how they have noticed changes in me, not only with weight but the way I carry myself. Few days later a fitness classmate asks me what kind of plan I'm on because I look great and she wants to try whatever I'm doing, then there's the cashier who said "your getting skinny, whats your secret?" All those small things gave me the confidence and motivation I needed to keep giving it 100%
So are you up for the challenge? You never know when a few kind words can change someones day emoticon
