After spending the morning praising God and eating a light lunch, I got ready to go to the 6-8 year old soccer games...two of them today. Then I sat down in my recliner with the Sunday paper as I had some time to spare. I fell asleep, didn't get the paper read , missed the first soccer game and was late to the second one...
I took my blood pressure just before going out the door and it was a little high~ 174/110...and a little scary. I took my bp pill on my way out the door to the game. Just got back and it is still a bit high~188/80 high, but better. And to think for the last three days, I was getting better readings. I am just wondering if jalapeno peppers would raise bp? I only ate a little over half a cup of them. I googled them and found that they are used to lower bp and so is garlic. Imagine that! But maybe they are packed with a lot of sodium in the jar as they were not fresh jalapenos.
Now I am just a bit tired and will kick back in my recliner with my feet up and do a little "sparkin".
Thank you for reading my blogs and for your support and encouragement!!! Blessings and hugs to all,

I had a very busy couple of weeks as usual so I am sure you are not surprised by that major announcement. lol I didn't get to post these pictures earlier but we have been busy, busy, busy. We did everything from watching our varsity soccer team practice, getting ready for a scrimmage,
it doesn't hurt that my dear grandson is a player or that McKenzie is sooo in love with him that she will marry him when she is older...that is if he isn't too old (her words, not mine), getting their pictures taken
to riding McKenzie's 4-wheeler
It just seems like the days are speeding along so fast I can't keep up. But on the flip side, this week will be very different. After having McKenzie daily all summer, tomorrow will be her first day of First Grade. She is so excited, she was in bed and asleep by 7:30, has her clothes all set out for tomorrow and her book bag packed and ready to go. Watch out First Grade, McKenzie is on her way!!!
I'm not sure what I will be doing every day until it's time for me to get her, get homework done and head off to the activity of the day. Maybe I can get in some extra walking...or heaven help me...wash my mouth out with soap...this is a hard one for me...clean my house and finish that decluttering. lol
The first grade teachers do not want parents in the classroom from what I have been told so I may work a little in the kindergarten rooms and finish the math games. Maybe it is time I do things just for me...September is a bit crazy as I do have quite a few doctors appointments and looking for an endocrinologist...may keep me busy for a little while.
Blessings and hugs,
God and great worship services

Yesterday was one of those days that I maybe should have stayed in bed...but it still had some great moments!!! Started my morning off by going in to pick up McKenzie. Christopher, my 15 year old grandson, called to see if I could pick him up after his morning soccer practice at the high school at 11:00 and asked if he could spend the day with McKenzie and me. His mom said yes, so of course it was ok with me...and McKenzie loves Christopher (whom she calls T.T.) and will marry him when he grows up if he isn't too old!!! (her words not mine) lol I guess ten years is a lot at this stage of the game!!
Anyway, we left the high school and started to my house via Richelle's house to let Phoenix out for a while and for McKenzie to play with her. We got about 2 miles from the high school and the Low Tire Pressure light and buzzer came on. So I turned the car around and went back to Waynesburg where I stopped at Sheetz and put air in the tire...front driver side. The off we went again. After leaving Richelle's, I headed over to pay our sewage bill...still on the way home. Oh no, the light and buzzer came on again. I pulled into the only gas station in the area only to find that they have no air pump. I purchased a can of Fix-A-Flat only to find out that I couldn't use it...Not to be used in tires with a sensor system. That's the way this day continues to try to go. I just prayed again that God would get us to a safe spot and be out of the way. Paid the sewage bill and drove a quarter of a mile to a friend's restaurant near Mather...Family Steak House, just outside of Jefferson to wait on Ken to come and change the tire. (It is really flat at this point but not enough to destroy my rim.) I had a hard time getting hold of him but he finally heard the phone and after telling him where we were, he said he would be right there...3 miles from our house...no time at all. Well, he didn't come and he didn't come, so I started calling him to see where he was and if he was having a problem. I couldn't get him to answer either the house phone or his cell phone. I go ahead and get the kids lunch while we were waiting. Then Ken calls me and asks, "where are you?" My response was at Chris's where I told you we were. After several questions and answers, I found out that he drove right past us and went the ten miles or so into Waynesburg to McKenzie's aunts house (Chrissy's). He tells me to wait right there, he will be there shortly...where was I really going with a flat tire??? He was also supposed to bring his floor jack to make the job easier which he didn't do. Anyway he finally shows up and he and Christopher go out to change the tire. Chris, owner of the restaurant and Christopher wanted to go ahead and change it before Ken even got there and did start to do it. But I said no, just let him do it when he gets here especially since he was on his way.
He finally did make it to the Family Steakhouse and as he and Christopher were changing the tire, it started to rain...I mean pouring straight down rain. They were soaked in seconds. The sun was shining and McKenzie kept looking for a rainbow. Just to lighten the mood, I opened the door and yelled, "Ken, hey Ken, do you think it will rain?" Didn't make him a happy camper. lol When he came into the restaurant, he said that the tire had a 2" gash in the side of it which must have happened in the construction at the high school. One girl who works with Ken has had 5 flat tires this summer during the construction. Anyway I asked Ken if he wanted to eat lunch before heading home. By the time he was finished eating, it was 3:00 and I had to have Christopher back in to the high school for his second soccer practice of the day by 3:30. (They have been having two practices every day this week...trying to sort out who would be on the Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams.) I didn't even have a real tire as a spare...just one of those little donut things that can only be driven at less than 45-50 mph and no farther than 50 miles before you stop and let it cool down. Not sure whose idea or invention that one was. Anyway when I get to town, I head straight to the high school just a bit late and drop Christopher off to practice...ending at 6:00...when I have to pick him up again and take him home for clean clothes as he is spending the night at my house. Then after calling the Ford garage to get a price on the tire, I find out they don't even keep the tires in stock. I go on uptown to a tire dealer, who is a friend of mine...he didn't have that tire in stock either but will have it at 9:15 in the morning for me. WOOHOO!!! Praise God. He is getting me two new tires and will put them on for me. I will keep the other front tire for a spare in the garage...just in case. I have to keep the car safe not only for myself but for McKenzie also and all the other people on the roads with us every day. I will not be on the road putting people's lives at stake because of a tire.
Anyway, after getting the tires ordered, McKenzie and I went over to the water park and the Lion's Club Park/Playground and had a great time waiting for her mom to come home. She was coming home early today as she had to sign McKenzie up for dancing classes before 7:00.
This pictures speaks volumes...the faces of two people who manage to find goodness in every day no matter what is truly going on...McKenzie looking for a rainbow in the rain, practicing her waitress skills on us while we were waiting on Ken, doing "chores" around the restaurant and just having a good time overall.
After McKenzie and I prayed and thanked God for all the good things as well as the "trying" things that had happened today, we passed these flags which as a symbol of our Freedom, made the day all the more special. Thank you God and Amen!!
Thank you for reading my blog. You mean so much to me as we all travel our journey to the healthiest we can be!!

When I arrived at McKenzie's house yesterday, I thought they had hired a new cleaning lady...a little person all dressed up in her cleaning finery complete with safety goggles, wand, high heels, and crown cleaning their garage.
I was totally unsure if it was a new cleaning little person following safety concerns or Cinderella doing her chores early in the morning before getting ready for the ball.
Even Sparkle and her bed was moved into the center of the garage so that Miss McKenzie was able to clean her "bedroom" for the day.
This was definitely an early highlight to the beginning of what was a rather gloomy day outside, intense fog and clouds. She spent over half an hour cleaning...exchanged her tire cleaning tool for a spray bottle of water and a cleaning rag as she proceeded to clean the walls and shelves in the garage...and this was just the beginning of another eventful day. The fog finally burnt off and things started happening as we made our made our way around Greene County. The days are getting shorter as the beginning of school looms closer and closer...two weeks and off on the big yellow bus again.
Blessings and hugs,
McKenzie who brightens my days
Sparkle who now weighs 6 pounds
My spark friends and family who encourage, inspire and support me daily
Fresh strawberries, tomatoes and other fruits and veggies
Sunshine and rain depending on the day...we get both
