I'd love to devote more time to doing volunteer work! I used to do alot more, and I really miss it!
What music do you like?

Right now, I’d have to say “Sparkin!” I super love it as it keeps me active with positive friends and I thoroughly enjoy it!
Which is your favorite gemstone?
Probably, ruby or opal.
In which month were you born?

Ta da—there you have it! So, after reading my replies – whatcha think? Did I surprise you with any answers, or do you know me through the Teams and posts, and, you can say to yourself, “Yes, that sounds like about what I thought she would be like.”
To sum it all up and, after reading my own replies, yes, I’m an average, fun-loving person that loves to stay close to home near my family, I’m comfortable being who I am and I don’t try to pretend to be someone that I’m not. I’m just me! And, a me that has a problem with licorice! Gotta do something about that one! Oh well, if licorice was the worst thing I’d have to deal with in my life, I think I’d have it made. But, there’s always those challenges that pop up – sometimes good and sometimes bad – but isn’t that part of what makes life interesting! Take life as it comes and enjoy it!
I wish everyone a positive, stress-free, interesting and wonderful week and weekend ahead and by chance.............................
if you see red licorice, just think before you get hooked like me
Have a great one everybody and to all!

Happy Thursday everyone!
Well, I think I've entered my "slow down" mode here at Sparks for a bit due to doctor appointments, procedures, etc. And, before I forget, I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughtful and caring comments on the same. It means alot to me and you'll never know how much!
But, today is one more appointment and I hope we can get something scheduled and going as to the actual procedure so we can move ahead here in our home. Enough worries and waiting -- we're ready -- let's do it! Plus, then we move on to another specialist next week in the pulmonary department of the medical field! More testing, more procedures and, you got it, more
But, we refuse to let it get us down! We're going through all the necessary steps and we'll make it! I just wish both me and my hubby were a bit more patient with this sort of thing, but we're too high-strung, I'm afraid, and it makes it almost impossible for us, but we're doing it and that's what counts! We're hanging strong and together!
Also, it seems that I'm going to be starting further testing after yesterday's doctor appointment, so I think and feel like we'll be tackling one test and procedure for one of us or the other for awhile. I'm just so thankful that we possibly have caught a few problems in their early stages and we can take care of things at this stage of the game -- rather than waiting until......
But, ya gotta look at the bright side and lighten up situations sometimes! I asked the receptionist at the hospital yesterday if they are accepting applications, as I told her I might as well work there -- and, mainly, would I be eligible for any sort of discount for their services due to being an employee, as it seems I'm there every other day! She just laughed and said, I wish! Oh well, I tried!
So, no more medical talk -- just that I want to say thanks again to everyone for being such great and understanding friends, I'll still be here, I'll still be active, but possibly a bit less and on a few less teams for awhile, but I'm here in spirit and I'm sending all my care, friendship and hugs to each of you until life balances out a bit and I can be up and running again with everyone!
Remember, it's pretty tough to hold Good Ole' Momma down, give me a challenge and I'll give it the best I got!!!!
everyone and keep smiling! Never give up -- never stop believing -- and never give up hope! I know we can do it in our home and I know that you can too!!
And, for those that read my previous "party blog", if you're interested in that hat, give me a yell, as I think my Mom saved it and I'm not going to wear that one again

TGIF everyone! The holiday weekend is here and I hope everyone has a safe, fun and wonderful one at that!
I'm not sure how many of you have seen the new picture that I have posted on my main page of my Mom and me but, in case you haven't, here's a bit of an explanation for those that have seen it and here's quite the idea for how to party -- and a party that I've never been a part of or have even thought of having! Our family is dealing with a variety of worrisome and medical issues right now, but we didn't allow those issues to hamper our day! Lay back, relax, laugh and enjoy (and even see how far your watermelon seed goes!)
So, ready????? Bethany sure is -- acting goofy for the camera -- but what a cutie! No, guys, she's spoken for too!
It begins with my Mom's birthday in April! My niece is very sentimental and a definite tradition lover! And, she remembered how Mom talked about tea parties that she used to have when she was a small girl and that sort of thing. So, my niece came up with an idea -- as part of Mom's birthday gift, my niece wrote a poem and an invitation to a Special Tea Party for our family. And, when my Mom read it, talk about smiles! It was so neat!!! We then discussed when we should have this dress-up tea party and decided on Father's Day!
So, my Mom found together the dresses, gloves, hats -- you name it -- that she had saved from my grandmother, and other relatives grandmothers, etc., so we had quite the selection to pick from! Everything was laid out on the bed and we had a blast trying on these outfits and hats -- and laugh -- yikes, who knows how to keep a hat like this on their head! I need help with this one! Give me those white lace gloves -- nope, they didn't match the rhinestones on the dress I picked out! How about those??? Hand me that hat, does it match my dress better -- talk about laughing! Here we had myself at the age of 50, Mom at 80, my sister at 55 and my niece at 30 -- acting and feeling like we were back being 10! But, it was so much fun just to do something totally out of the norm and just have fun with it all!
So, once we all selected our "outfits" and my sister picked a few choices for her daughter-in-laws who weren't there -- off to planning! And, plan they did! This was a Mom and Bethany project and I was so in awe at all the hard work, cooking, planning that they did! Finger sandwiches, petit fours, tea with antique cups and tea pots, decorations and tablecloths all for the occasion and our Garden Tea Party!
So, ready to see how my family parties??? Like I said, this is something we've never done before but sometimes you have to go out of that norm and just have fun however you'd like! You only live once and, honestly, I hope I'm done wearing that hat -- but, here we go!
Mom and me waiting for the guests to arrive! Hat and all! I so love Mom's hat -- I teased her all day about wanting to spin that bow on top of her head -- I called her the "twirly bird" all day! Isn't she cute!
Yup, my nephew, Tyler, has arrived and who wouldn't want to give Mom a hug? Or maybe he wanted to spin that bow too -- I'm not sure!
Food is ready!
And here is Mom and Bethany who put in all the hard work for the day! They had awnings set up in our yard and the weather was beautiful and everything was ideal for the occasion!
So, up and at 'em, Dad, we're heading outside -- it's party time!
The guys are ready -- suspenders and all -- it was fantastic!
Let the party games begin! Have you ever done a "Watermelon Seed Spitting" game? Here it is! You take a watermelon seed in your mouth and spit it out as far as you can on the white paper and whoever's seed flew the farthest wins!
Did you win, then pick a prize off the prize table that contained everything from old tobacco tins, embroidered dishtowels (never used), glass dishes and serving trays--everything from years ago and things that my Mom had saved through the years and held memories from the past.
We also played a few other games and sipped on peach tea through the afternoon!
But, then we come to the family pics!
Since it was Father's Day -- what is more appropriate than my Dad being surrounded by the ladies!
And, check out those handsome guys--WOO HOO!! -- Love those suspenders and hats! Sorry, ladies, they're all spoken for!
And, then we come to the family picture! Do you see a difference from the one taken at my parents' wedding anniversary?
AND now!
Hmmm.....not sure which one looks best -- but I do know this, we brought those smiles, we had fun and we showed and shared the family love in a rather unusual sort of way, but -- when you see this
You know it was all worth it! I'm still not sure about the hat thing
And, oops, I have to edit my blog as I forgot to add a guest or two! And, here they are!
Mom & Dad's little "tail", Lilly!
My Kasey Bug who was, of course, under the food table -- she loves when someone drops a snack or two! And, sorry -- I don't seem to have a picture of Bud at the party, but, trust me, he was there too! When we party, we even include our "tails" -- but, nope, just in case you're wondering, we didn't put hats or suspenders on them!
Lucky guys!

Happy Friday everyone!
I wish I could say I'm feeling today, but I think it's more of a day!
My dh wasn't feeling well last evening and not again this morning, so he stayed home from work. I thought good thing I was home today, so he could just rest and we'd have a quiet and relaxing day to just lay back while I could keep an eye on him to make sure everything was quiet and he was comfy.
But, when he woke up this morning and got out of bed, I saw something super suspicious on his leg and said, "Get dressed, we're going to the doctor and NOW!" He, of course, said it would all be okay and didn't want to go. So, back to being the take charge Momma I sternly said, NOW! (But with a at the same time.) And, I wouldn't accept no ifs, ands, buts or otherwises! Not today -- no compromising with Momma today! Start the car -- we're going!
And, here we are at the hospital -- they are now running further tests on him and I'm in the waiting room using the Hospital's computer until he returns to his room. I'm so thankful hospitals have computers available as I know that today I need to read and see all the positives here while waiting. Otherwise, I know I'd be more than I already am and thinking about the "what could it be", "is it something else", etc. But, instead, just as before -- no matter what it may be -- we gotta stay We trust our doctors and I know that he is in good hands, so it sure helps -- but what a way for him to spend a Friday! He has been through a lot these past weeks and has heard diagnoses that have shocked and scared us all. But, yet, this morning he made the comment while we were waiting for the doctor to come in, "See, you turn 55 and this is what happens!" I told him, "Hey, what do you think happened to me when I turned 50?" And, he just smiled!
Regardless of age, regardless of location and situations, we have to stay positive and keep that sense of humor going -- and, most of all, stand strong, together and keep on moving forward one step at a time.
I also wanted to thank my fellow leaders/co-leaders on the Teams that I lead, for keeping our Teams active and motivated--which I so love to do--until I can get my complete back. I miss my and I know I still have it, don't you worry, it's still here, I just need to direct it in a different and loved area of life more now than ever!
So, keep your going everybody and love life to the fullest! And, same with your sense of humor -- share a or with another today -- and I think you'll enjoy the one you get back in return!
Love the day everyone and hugs to all!!

Hi Everyone! It's Tuesday and I'm just typing away here at the hospital while my hubby is having yet more tests! But, all is well and it's great to rule out a few other complications from the latest diagnosis -- so it's a "let's rule that one out" sort of day! But, again, here we are and here we are Staying positive and doing it together! Step by step!
But, I just wanted to send a huge to everyone who has so supported me with those positives! Even though I could be feeling and on my own right now, even in a waiting room, I know that I can knowing that my special friends are here for me and all I have to do is "plug myself in" -- yup, have laptop -- can travel -- and know that you are all here to keep passing along those same to me!
Even when life's uncertainties can give us those worries and doubts, it's always wonderful knowing that there are super understanding, caring and so appreciated friends here that can make a difference in our lives and they don't even realize they're doing it! So, in case I haven't said it lately, here's a few super huge and I thank you from the bottom of my heart to help me keep smiling through it all! You are all super special to me and, even on-line, I can feel your friendships coming through my keyboard and I hope you can feel the same from me!
Have a great Tuesday! And, keep and passing it on to others! You're making a difference in so many others' lives, so keep it coming everyone! You're all doing
