Goal 1) lose 5# during this round.

Goal 2) eat five freggies each day.

Goal 3) limit after dinner snacks to one a day.

My plan is to make "success" my middle name. I am known for gaining and losing the same pound several times over. I want this to stop and it is my job to stop it. More protein, more veggies, and no night time snacking will be my battlecry. I am close to my goal and I know it is going to be hard, but I am up for it. emoticon emoticon

#23 Rewards

The only reward I want is to be able to wear the clothes in my closet. There are many different sizes in there so I am pretty sure I will be able to reward myself for each pound that I lose during this Challenge. I am even willing to wear something that "looks a little big on me."lol

Same old, same old!

It seems like this weight loss trip is taking forever. I am within 12 pounds of my goal and it keeps getting harder and harder.

My number one goal is to continue my 94 day exercise streak. I want to stop eating while watching TV and to get more protein in my diet.

I also need to find things to keep my hands busy. I am not a crafty person. I have tried to knit and to crochet but to no avail. I think I will get a set of hand grips and a couple of stress balls.

    Hand weight s sound like a great idea to keep your hands busy. Is it possible to keep those snacks out of your house? Or put them somewhere that is harder to get to? For a long time in our house I had to have my husband hide his snacks so I wouldn't be tempted.

    This is supposed to cheer you on...
Have you noticed that the pound you want to lose this week is so much harder to shed than the one you lost last month... but last month that was the hardest...
then there is this question..
which is harder losing the last 5 pounds to reach your goal, OR, maintaining the loss of all the pounds you have shed for the rest of your very long life?
It may be a lot easier to stay focused on the losing than the maintaining...
I do not know how much weight you have lost, but I am sure you are very happy with where that journey has brought you.

    I hear you on the challenges when we get closer to goal. It's there that the "reasons" for eating become more pronounced and need more work it seems. At least it's that way for me.

Congrats on a 94 day streak! Fantastic! You CAN do it.

Have you thought of trying Kumi Himo (a Japanese form of braiding that uses (for beginners) a foam disc with slots and yarn/thread to make lengths of ties (like shoes laces or necklaces)? The Japanese used it to ties all sorts of things together, including armor. So it's sturdy, fun, pretty and practical. I can't knit or crochet, but I can braid. It helps keep my hands busy, although stress balls and grips are good too. Some kits are sold in craft stores like Michael's and possibly some fabric stores.

Halfway

The halfway point finds me doing better than I have in previous BLCs. I believe I am getting better at fending off the snack attack that always bugs me after dinner. I have been having one smoothie a day with protein powder in it. I even threw in some spinach today. As long as I use a berry mixture and the smoothie does not look green, I am ok with it. I know it is a bit weird but I just can`t bring myself to drink a green smoothie. Now if it was a grasshopper, that would be a different story. emoticon

    Way to Go Dawn! Congrats! I recently had my first green smoothie... It was called green apple so the color didn't bother me. Was a little weird tasting at first, but really good once I got used to the little bitter after taste (one of the greens used I think).

I just had a pumpkin protein smoothie.. one of my favorites. I use a scoop of vanilla protein powder, 8 ounces of almond milk, 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin, a tsp of pumpkin pie spice and 10 ice cubes. Blend until smooth and it is like liquid pumpkin pie! A nice way to get a veggie serving hee hee.
