Disappointments

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Dealing with disappoints rightly takes planning to not get derailed. We have had several in our family today. When I commented that I hadn't figured out what we are going to have for dinner, dear hubby said "Pizza, comfort food". I replied we need to figure out a healthier comfort food.

The rest of the story:

Okay, I gave in. the good news is that there will be six of us eating it instead of the two of us. The only acceptable pizza is the chicken stuffed from Papa Murphy's. Guess I better go turn on the oven. I did suggest healthy alternatives. I will only have one piece and save a piece for tomorrow and that should take care of it.

Thanks for your encouragement. About3 years ago I lost 50 lbs before visiting one of my kids in Washington, I lost the weight by saying to myself as I would look at food " I can eat you if I want, BUT, I choose not to. This worked fine until I was there a week and staying up late every night, as I do at home. I found out where they stashed their nuts, which is a big weakness of mine, well that did it and I went right back eating everything I wanted to.
I keep hoping and praying that I will find my "CLICK" again. emoticon emoticon

You are right that one of the most successful tools for avoiding derailment is planning. It is especially hard when hubby is offering you food for comfort. But you know, I think food can still be comforting without being a bad thing. I know that I find cooking a good meal for my family to be comforting sometimes. Why not make your own pizza? You can control what goes on it so it stays within your plan, and hubby still gets what he wants. Anyway, keep at it, you are doing the right things:)

Workout Pool is Closing

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Heard the sad news today at the pool that it is closing for lack of funds to run it. There are so many people who are benefitted from this pool and there is no other pool in the Spokane area that has a warm pool that the general public can go to. So many of the elderly use it for a social club as well as getting their exercise.

So unfortunate that places like that are getting shut down during these hard times. Hope you can find an alternate place to get in your swimming if this place doesn't pull through.

This is really sad. Are the other pools outdoors thus the water is cold? Also, I know what you mean about a social club for the seniors because my soul line dance class is a social hour and a half for many of the women in their mid to late 50's and 60's. Sometimes they dance and other times they sit in the back and chat it up. I hope by some miracle the pool gets saved.

Tried on a XL at Kohl's Tonight

Friday, March 20, 2009

Took dear daughter shopping to try and find some warmer clothes. She is no longer living within 60 miles of the equator. Anyway while she was trying on some skirts I decided to try on an XL shirt. Well the end result was that I got it on, and many people would wear it, but it showed a little too much of my roll. But, I am getting really close.

Need to Find Time

Thursday, March 19, 2009

I really need to find time to go through my clothes and get sort out the ones that don't fit anymore. Why is it so hard to do. Hoping that dear daughter will motivate me to do it when she goes through hers and get rid of hers. She has gone done three sizes. I think I have probably gone done a couple. I am wearing clothes that I wouldn't where before. I think it is the trying on that will need to happen is what is stopping me.

emoticon That's awesome you get to clean out your closet for a good reason!! It's always better to go through the clothes because they're so big, and not small!!! I can't wait until I get to do that! Great job skinny!!!

Congrats on being able to " down size" like that. I sounds like your daughter's doing great too! emoticon I'm kinda in a funny place now, where my current work pants hang down and I'm constantly pulling them up, however I still have 5 to 10 pounds before my "skinny" pants will fit. LOL! I refuse to buy in-between pants. emoticon

Cherished Family Time

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Today was so enjoyable to spend with my three daughters. Something that happens all too few times. We decided to surprise my oldest daughter with a birthday party. She had commented earlier in the week that she couldn't remember the last time we were all together for her birthday. I had already bought her present, so we made a cake and covered it with mashed strawberries, sang "Happy Birthday" and gave her the present. She got a very surprised look on her face when we started singing. It was even funnier to see her sons when we said moms name. In fact we ended up having dessert first because the Corned Beef and Cabbage would not cooperate and get done. We had a lot of fun. Then we all watched Biggest Losers.
