Laugh

Saturday, April 25, 2009

I need to remember to find something to laugh at everyday. It is a great stress reliever and helps keep a good perspective of what you are going through. Besides the fact that it is a great calorie burner.

I remember one day many years ago we were shopping for a sewing machine. The store was having a big sale and I had saved up my spending money to buy one. When we arrived the store was packed so we had to wait. The of course the family was all there, I don't recall what we were doing to keep the girls occupied, but we were laughing all the time. When a clerk was finally able to help us she commented that she had been watching us and we must be a fun family. By the way I still have the sewing machine, and it still works great.

I wish I had a sewing machine, but I don't. I was looking at designer clothes thinking how easy so many of them would be to make and avoid paying $2500 for. emoticon

Reaching Goals is so Satisfying

Friday, April 24, 2009

I am so excited that I finally was able to put up the 50 pounds lost graphic. Earlier this month I didn't think that I would even reach my 10 pounds lost this month. At the pool today I was talking with a couple of gals and they couldn't believe that I still had so much to loose. I hide weight really well. That has been one of my downfalls through the years fooling myself into believing that I wasn't that bad. I know that I still have a long way to go, but as I continue on the path I am on for the rest of my life I know that I will succeed in staying as healthy as I can and weight will not be something weighing me down from accomplishing my goals.

Some of you reading this may get discouraged that you are not loosing as quickly as someone else is. We cannot compare ourselves as I am not walking through your shoes. I am at a time when I am not working am able to work out sometimes as much as four hours a day. We have arranged our space that we are able to work out while being in the same room as my father-in-law so whoever is staying with him can exercise while keeping an eye on him.

I know that a very imprortant key for me was deciding that I was willing to do anything to loose. My mind and determination finally reached the point to allow me to be able to succeed.

Goal Setting

Sunday, April 19, 2009

There has been a lot of talk about goal setting. Yes you need to be realistic about setting them, but we also need to stretch ourselves and try. I found thes two quotes that I thought really put into words what needs to be said. We set our goals to loose weight, get healthy or something else and give ourselves a time limit. Sometimes we don't reach the exact goal we set, but if we had never set the goal we would not have tried as hard to meet that goal.

"Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there."
Bo Jackson

"My philosophy of life is that if we make up our mind what we are going to make of our lives, then work hard toward that goal, we never lose -- somehow we win out."
Ronald Reagan

Even if we do not reach our goal look how much stronger we became trying. I personally did not reach the goal I set out when I first started this journey but I will not give up. I just will set different goals and will never give up.

I'm excited about our new goal setting. I'm so glad you are doing this with me.

URGENT RECALL NOTICE

Saturday, April 18, 2009

URGENT RECALL NOTICE

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed 'Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality' or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include:

1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish and/or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the
entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: 1-800-P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers' Instructions before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded.. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.
Thank you for your attention!

GOD

P.S. Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by 'Knee mail.' Because He Lives!

Turning Failure into Success

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Have you ever had dejavue in the middle of a situation and thought I have been here before and if I would not have handled this situation this way, I would not be where I am right now going through this. Well I am kind of feeling that way over many things today.

I have lost thousands of pounds over my lifetime I am sure. If I would have learned then what I am learning now I would not be in the position I am in needed to loose weight one more time. I am done with it this time and will not be experiencing dejavue again in this situation.

Or say maybe someone has been debt free many times, and now they are looking at their financial situation and saying, "How did I get this far in debt?". Thinking about how they knew they should be paying as they go, but just that one time they thought I can pay this off next month and then something happened and they were not able to and the cycle just kept getting worse until they feel like they are drowning. The same principle applies. Just stop continuing on the destructive road and begin today making right choices. Do you really need that purchase right now, or should you wait until you have the money set aside for it. We are such a nation of you deserve it today, that we find ourselves overweight, in debt.

Maybe it is an argument you are having with someone very near and dear to you. You think why does every time we talk turn into an ugly argument our big misunderstanding. Maybe you are both feeling the same thing and just need to stop the merry-go-round and get off and try to start today seeing the situation from the others perspective.

Or maybe it is that job that you just are not enjoying. You seem to think that everyone has it out for you. The same principle applies. When you are working are you truly giving your boss 100% of yourself as you are working? It is time that he is paying for, or do you sit there and think that he really doesn't appreciate me. I guarantee if you give yourself 100% to making your boss successful and investing in their lives you will find yourself enjoying your work and trying to find new ways to make your boss successful. Maybe you really do need to have a job change, but give your all to your boss until that happens.

I now that when we apply these principles to our daily lives, we will start enjoying the life we are living to the fullest and quit living in the land of past regrets.
