The U in JesUs

The U in JesUs

Before U were thought of or time had begun,
God stuck U in the name of His Son.
And each time U pray, U will see it is true -
U cannot spell out JesUs and not include U.

U are a pretty big part of His wonderful name,
For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U, is the reason He died -
It even takes U to spell "crUcified".

Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand;
He rose from the dead, with U in His plan.
The stone split away, the gold trUmpet blew,
And this word "resUrrection" is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension;
He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.
"Go into the world and tell them it's true
That I love them all - just like I love U."

So many great people are spelled with a U,
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know; but it all starts with U!
JesUs and U!!!

Trying to Turn my Attitude into Gratitude

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Some days are just days!

I know in my head that I have so much to be grateful for, but having a hard time putting it into action. I could make a lists of the irritants of today, but that is not really important as we all have those irritants and you can name your own.

Did manage to turn some of the bad into exercise on the recumbent bike while holding a granddaughter.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events." --Melodie Beatty

I got this when reading on Joyce Meyer's site...she is so straightforward lol...just what I need most days...

Where the Mind Goes, the Man Follows
by Joyce Meyer
I have done a lot of teaching in the past twenty-five years, and I am convinced that one of the
greatest areas in which we need help is the area of our thinking. No matter how many messages
you and I hear about the mind, we can always benefit from hearing another one.
I believe that where the mind goes, the man follows. Jesus said in Luke 6:45, …out of the
abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks. And in Proverbs 23:7 the Bible says, …as he
[a man] thinks in his heart, so is he…. In both of these scriptures, the word heart refers to the
mind. In other words, our thoughts are the forerunners of both our words and actions. Whatever
you and I allow into our inner life will eventually be seen in our outer life.
So in order to deal with wrong behavior, we need to deal with wrong thinking. My deep desire is
to help us get our thinking lined up with His Word. As a result, the words of our mouths and the
actions of our lives will get straightened out in the process. I believe the key to victory is learning
how to think on the things that God wants us to think—to be renewed in our mind by the power
of His Word—instead of thinking on whatever comes into our head.
A House Made of Thoughts
I have come to the realization that our thoughts have the power to either help us or hurt us.
They can affect our health, our moods and our relationships. As a matter of fact, they affect
nearly everything in our lives. When I first began to study the Word, I had many problems in my
life. But a major transition took place in my spirit when I received a revelation about my thinking.
I discovered that the primary reason my life was messed up was because my thinking was
messed up.
The Lord showed me that all of us have an outer life and an inner life. Our outer life is the part
of us that everybody sees, and our inner life is the part that nobody sees, except God and us. The
inner life includes our thoughts, attitudes and motives. God knows every thought that you and I
think. The Bible says that …not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things
are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do
(Hebrews 4:13).
I like to think of our inner life as a house made of thoughts that is constantly being built. It is
within these “walls” of our thinking that each of us lives. Every thought we accept is like another
brick in the wall of the house we are building. If we accept negative, selfish, or other ungodly
thoughts, our “house” will be a mess, and we will find ourselves walled in with the enemy. But
when we choose to think positive, godly thoughts, the “house” in which we live will be a blessing,
filled with the rewards of righteousness.
Our minds are just like computers—we can only get out of them what we put into them. When I
first began walking with God, my mind needed major reprogramming. Much of my thinking was
contrary to the Word, and it needed to be changed. Romans 12:2 says, Do not be conformed to
this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be
transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new
attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will
of God….
By the grace of God, I came to the understanding that if I wanted to have a better life, I needed
to have better thinking. Little by little, God began to reveal to me different areas in my life where
I had accepted Satan’s lies. The walls of deception I allowed the devil to develop in my mind
needed to be demolished and rebuilt with the truth. With the power of God’s Spirit at work in me,
the renovation process began.

"Faith of our fathers" renew us again
And make us a nation of God-fearing men
Seeking Thy guidance, Thy love and Thy will,
For we are but Pilgrims in need of Thee still---
And, gathered together on Thanksgiving Day,
May we lift up our hearts and our hands as we pray
To thank you for blessings we so little merit
And grant us Thy love and teach us to SHARE IT.

Helen Steiner Rice

Thanksgiving - All in a Word

T for time to be together, turkey, talk, and tangy weather.
H for harvest stored away, home, and hearth, and holiday.
A for autumn's frosty art, and abundance in the heart.
N for neighbors and November, nice things, new things to remember.
K for kitchen, kettle's croon, kith and kin expected soon.
S for sizzles, sights, and sounds, and something special that abounds.

That spells THANKS ~ for joy in living and a jolly good Thanksgiving!

Yes Leona, everyone is here for you. I was looking back at my weight chart just today and I weigh a couple of pounds more today than what I weight on Jan 1 of this year! So I basically maintained my weight for over a year if you count where I was last year! I should have been at least half way to my goal by now, but I am still struggling!
Thanks for the honest blog and letting us know what has happened in your life! We will be here for each other. We can do this!

My eldest DS ws at school, the rest of us were at my mom's (my DH was sleeping as it was inbetween night shifts). I remember calling my sister-in-law and wishing her a Happy Birthday, then hearing something on the radio which prompted us to turn on the tv. I remember waking my DH up from his sleep and telling him about it, when we picked our eldest up from school I made sure our radio was off as we didn't know what if anything the kids were told.

This day touched my heart. I was standing outside with a group of children at a playground when suddenly several low flying airplanes kept circling enough to scare us teachers. Then we went inside to heard about the pentagon- to close for comfort. My friend's husband was late that morning(he worked in the towers) he arrived after the planes crashed- but went through some pretty bad times because he ws not there to help his coworkers. Very sad times.
