One Meal Does Not Erase All The Progress

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Dear daughter and I have been having many discussions leading up to Easter. She has been so supportive of me. We have been talking about life changes. You have to give yourself a break and enjoy holidays in moderation. No more binging. Then the next meal you get back on track. One meal is not going to change all the right choices you have been making to change your lives and get healthy. The change is that you do not binge every meal, or every day.

Priorites

Tuesday, April 07, 2009

What makes a priority? Do we have the right priorities in our lives? Or are we wasting time on things that are not where we want to go or what we want to be. Taking care of dad we have learned alot in the last six months. Are we taking time to enjoy every day? Are we making the memories we want to make? Are we living our lives and making the impressions on the people around us that we want them to have? These are just questions I am pondering today.

I know what you mean, Leona. Sometimes the smallest word of encouragement or just taking a few minutes to really listen to someone can make a bigger difference then we realize. Even though we are all very different, we are all beautiful precious souls. And I know God wants us to live the life he has given us to our fullest. emoticon

Choose

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

Every day we have many choices to make. How we choose to respond to situations that arise. Whether we exercise are not. What we are going to wear. What we are going to eat. Are we going to smile and enjoy every minute. As we take this journey together we can choose to focus on the positive or the negative. I get to eat healthy. I am loosing weight. I am exercising more today then I did when I started. My clothes fitting better. My clothes are getting to big. So let's all focus on what we have accomplished, what we can do, and make this the best days of our lives.

Changes in Me

Friday, February 20, 2009

I was reflecting on the weekend and all our company and junk food. In the past after the party was over I would usually go on a food bindge eating up all the leftovers, finishing off the remaining bags of chips, candy and everything else in sight.

Since getting serious about changing my eating habits, that is no longer who I am. Food is no longer the first thing I reach for when I am tired, sad, mad, frustrated, happy, lonely or any other reason.

Thanks Sparks and all you wonderful people who have become my support system. I would have never come this far without all of you.

Buy Me, Eat Me

Thursday, February 05, 2009

Everything, on every aisle was calling out to me as I shopped at several stores tonight. I am happy to say that I resisted all temptations. Something I had not done in the past and that's how I got to the weight I am.

Very good!! Doesn't that feel great!! I experienced that yesterday too when I was sooo hungry and not in the mood to cook and I resisted the drive-thru! Congratulaions us, huh?!! I think these kinds of changes are what are really going to make the difference... it shows a greater mind-set.... we are looking to the future instead of the moment! Yeee haaww!
