I just did a swagbucks search and found quotehug, a website. Who knew? Here's a few quotes from the site:

Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. ~Author Unknown

The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next. ~Mignon McLaughlin

If you don't have a smile, I'll give you one of mine. ~Author Unknown

Don't be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. ~Charles Richards

Hugs to you, too! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Trying to Keep Up

Thursday, January 21, 2010

I have to admit that I absolutely love stopping by everyones pages and blogs and leaving comments. However with so many wonderful friends out there I am finding that it is getting harder and harder to do on a daily basis and that makes me very sad. So please if you really need me stop by and let me know or send me a SparkMail and I will respond as soon as I can. I think and pray for all or you throughout the day as God brings you to mind. With hubby leaving again on Sunday I don't want any of you to think you are not important to me, but I also have to be realistic that I can't be a cheerleader to the whole world like I would like too. I hope you can all understand. I will continue to do my best to support and encourage the best I can. I want you all to share your joys and successes with me and also when you need a kick in the pants I will be happy to give it. We are all going to attain our goals as we keep the focus and do the next right thing!

I wanted to share these two blogs with you because both in different ways impacted me today. One I was just about rolling on the flour laughing and the other because too often we give things to God and then take them back and can't figure out why He isn't handling it.

So I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

    I totally understand. I had so many friends at one point that I was missing my oldest SparkFriends postings and such on my Friend Feed. I feel guilty sometimes because I stopped adding people... but I really want to be able to support the friends I've made here and it just gets to be too much. Make taking care of yourself your first priority and keep up when you can.

    emoticon Leona, Part of having a healthy lifestyle is learning when to say no to the many good things out there. Your first priority is always your relationship with God, then taking care of yourself and your family. Your friendship and encouragement is always valued and I understand it when you need to cut back on certain things. You have been doing great in your weight loss journey!

  Thanks Leona for the links...we are caregivers by nature but as you said, we need to take care of ourselves first...not in an egocentric manner, but in the well-balanced way we are learning to be healthy in this earthbound journey of ours...take care you...the more you have for you, the better you can give when really needed...sending big hugs your way...Beany

    I hear you! I am finding that my friendfeed doesn't show all the blogs and postings of the many friends I've made here and I do sometimes miss their blogs, etc as a result.

You keep up the best you can. emoticon

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Have a GREAT DAY! Unless you have other plans.

    Sorry to hear about your injury this past week. I hope you are feeling better now though. I'm glad to hear that your husband is back home safe and sound and that you are able to participate in the pool activities to a degree. That will help keep you in your routine and it will be nice to see people.

I can really relate to the poems you posted for today. We are parked in one place for a while and I'm enjoying being able to go to the YMCA and get to know some of the women in the area. Like you said, the accountability and camaraderie has been nice. The school day hasn't fallen apart either so that has been a lesson for me too. Thanks for your continued encouragement Leona.

Have a Blessed New Years Everyone!

Friday, January 01, 2010

I am the New Year.
I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living.

I am your opportunity
to practice what you have learned during
the last twelve months about life.

All that you sought the past year
and failed to find is hidden in me;
I am waiting for you to search it out
again and with more determination.

All the good that you tried to do
for others and didn't achieve last year
is mine to grant-- providing you have
fewer selfish and conflicting desires.

In me lies the potential
of all that you dreamed but didn't
dare to do, all that you hoped
but did not perform.

All you prayed for
but did not yet experience -
these dreams slumber lightly,
waiting to be awakened by the touch
of an enduring purpose -

I am your opportunity
to renew your allegiance to Him who said,
"behold, I make all things new."
I am the new year.

"Behold, I make all things new."
Rev 21:5

Christian New Year痴 Resolutions
How can I use the New Year
To better serve my Lord?
I値l read my Bible every day,
And be more in accord.
I値l find new ways to serve others;
I値l love my neighbor, too.
I値l focus on "give" instead of "get"
In everything I do.
I値l forgive the people I知 mad at;
Angry feelings I値l discard;
I値l try to love my enemies,
Even though it痴 hard.
In the new year, I値l lift people up,
Instead of putting them down.
I値l fill my heart with love and joy,
And never wear a frown.
I値l let go of my worries;
I値l put it all in His hands;
I値l repent and try to sin less,
And obey all His commands.
These new year痴 resolutions
Are difficult, at best,
But there痴 something I can do each day
That will put my soul at rest:
I値l love my Lord with all my heart,
With all my mind and soul,
And if I do that essential thing,
All the rest will be in control.

Last year 3X, this year L

Thursday, December 31, 2009

Last year at the Christmas clearance sale I bought a 3X winter scene shirt, this year I am wearing a L snowflake shirt.

The blue shirt I am wearing today and the white shirt is the one I wore last year!
