From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!!

A woman was asked by a coworker,
'What is it like to be a Christian?'

The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.'
God picks you from the patch, brings you in,
and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and
puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

This was passed on to me by another pumpkin.
Now it's your turn to pass it to other pumpkins.

I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.

What a surprise to finally get on Sparks tonight only to find out that all you wonderful friends have voted me a Spark Motivator! I am truly humbled and honoured! I was just talking to one of the customers today as she was buying some of my clothes that are too big now. She could not believe that less then a year ago I was wearing that size. I have her e-mail address and will be sending her an invite to Sparks! You are all amazing friends that inspire me every day to keep on this journey to becoming healthy! Without Sparks I would not be where I am today, it is such an amazing tool to help us along our way!

We had day two of our Sale and a friend came out with his son to work on putting the new windows in. Only six more to go and then hubby was to get all the trim work back up inside and out. So it was kind of a busy day. I was able to get all the debrie picked up out of the yard between customers. We sold so many clothes today I was amazed. You can never tell what people are going to buy.

Focusing on our journey to reach our destination!

Thursday, October 08, 2009

Concentrate where you are going and what you want to accomplish. Focus on your goal, through everything that is trying to distract you. In life there is always the unexpected. Keep you eyes looking ahead, don't look back to the past. Whatever has happened is done, you cannot change it. The more time you spend looking back the less time you have ahead of us to accomplish our goals. Keep looking from side to side for any other unexpected intervention or threat. The more information you have, the safer you are and the more likely you are to reach your goal.

Okay I paraphrased the above from another book I am reading, because I thought that it so fit the journey we are all on. The book is a fiction book for Pete's Sake by Linda Windsor. I hope t helps you as much as it helped me.

Free is not always a bargain!

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

At work today and almost everyday there are almost always the bigger snack size Dorito bags for fee. The regular employees don't like them, so they try and give them away free. They buy the box of bags from Costco and they have mroe Doritos then anything in them. I love Doritos, every time I go to work they are there sitting on the table saying eat me, eat me! I thought about it, I thought about my goals, I thought about how far I had come, I thought about how I am struggling this week not to show a gain, and I said "No", it is just not worth it!

Chips are my downfall as well. I cannot eat just one or two. that turns into a handful and then I will eat the whole bag (big or small). I would stay away from the break room if I knew the temptation was at hand. Take a wlk at your meal and break time instead of going in to the space where the temptation is. Or ask a friend to go in ahead of you and place the chips out of sight until your gone. You can overcome this by using your will power for the good of you.

Good for you! If your anything like me, some days you have more control than others. There are days when I could just eat 2 or 3 chips and feel totally satisfied, other days don't dare take one because I'll eat the whole bag. When I'm having one of those days I usually make a bowl of air popped popcorn with a little I can't believe it's not butter spray, a few sprinkles of cayenne pepper and some garlic powder. It really seems to take care of my snack cravings.

Good job! Although if you can eat just 2 or 3 once in awhile and fit it into your calories for the day, go for it. I do now and then at work and I eat less than one serving. It satisfies that little need and then it may become an even smaller want.
Congrats though on walking away!

Getting the job done!

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Any wife who wants to can be trustworthy. It isn't a matter of talent or intelligence; it is a mattter of integrity-- of being true to your word and getting the job done.
