Studying again

Well made it thru muscle A & P yesterday--Whoa I have been out of nursing school to long to remember all of those muscles again!!!!! ANd made it thru kinesiology of exercise.. And if I didn't have a flat butt before I do after sitting and studying yesterday-LM nonexistent AO!!!
On the agenda for today-----Biomechanical concepts of exercise, musculoskeletal deviations and muscle mechanics and that is just this AM.
PM will do the stuff I know so studying won't be as bad---Exercise and hypertension, diabetes, pregnancy, asthma, coronary heart disease, sports medicine in the trenches, and basic first aid-see said it was the stuff I know.

OH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just found out that the onlne line final exam is NOT timed-and I can break the testing into as many little sections as I want to !!!! OH YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Will finish this joker before the week is over OH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


OOPPPPSSSSS think the Yerba Mate tea just kicked in!



615 pm-Almost done- have 1 more case study to write exercise and nutrition plan for then 6 essay questions to do but think I am going to stop for today and read a little while. Tired of looking at computer screen and typing!

    Best of luck with the study! I am also studying again. In my second year of RN's, already and Enrolled Nurse here in Aussie and feel somedays I left this all a bit late. The brain cells dont seem to retain stuff like it did in my 20's..lol

I am sure you will do well. Both with study and your weight loss journey! emoticon

Butt and legs again!?!?!?

SO NOT DOING ANY GOOD!!!!!

Bumped the legs and butt up to 3 days a week-still not seeing any change. Changing up the exercises I do so don't plateau but can you plateau when it isn't working anyway???
Maybe the walking with daughters will help-there are some hills-maybe I should just look goofy and do walking lunges!!! OR stop in the middle of the road and do squats-WHATEVER!

Hip flexors are super tight-was trying to do the Goddess pose-SO can't do it because muscles are so tight-and there is only so long that I am willing to be lying on my back on a mat with my legs in THAT position!!!!

Oh well off to another day. emoticon

School's out!!!

So school is out for the summer- OK last day of school on Thursday this is one strange county. My girls have promised to exercise every day by walking/biking around the block-1.7 miles. So that will add to my daily steps- wont really call it cardio because it will probably be more of a stroll than a fast walk.

13 year old is overweight but wants to lose weight and now that it is summer and I have control over the food she should be able to lose some weight. Plus just the daily walk will have her moving.

This week I have to study so I can take my certification final- THIS I MUST DO!!!!!! And try to get Health Coaching business off the ground. emoticon

    Good luck on that certification! I hope you do well on your health coaching adventure! I'm sure you will be great! Maybe you can get in some practice by coaching your daughters! It's too bad schools have so many unhealthy foods available. Makes it difficult to avoid unnecessary weight gain for the young people... it's probably time they do something about it! Anyways, get that business up and running!!

    Today's my son's last day of school, too. Good for your daughter for wanting to get healthy! Those daily walkes/bike rides will be great! I'm anxious to get some time in the pool for exercise! That'll be a fun change-up for my workout.

  I tell you, being out of school isn't doing anything good for me! There are too many BBQs, bonfires, drinks, and summer fun that ruins a healthy lifestyle! I don't know HOW people stay healthy.....ever! Well I guess it is something I will just need to change slowly so it seems normal.
Anyways, after that little rant I wish you and your daughter good luck! It is an awesome feeling to have the support and at times force of a mother to help you along. Also I am sure the more work you put into your lifestyle, the more she will!

Today is my daughters 11 th birthday-11 years ago I weighed 170 lbs more than I do today!!!!!!!!!

She is one of the reason's I lost the weight and I have her and her sister to thank for me being healthy now-because my kids needed their mother.


I am working towards being a health coach now-working with hypertensive and diabetic people. And that is in addition to trying to finish that certification to be a personal trainer.

Think that is all for today. Now for apple birthday pie and vanilla ice cream.

    Wow--that is awesome. I think back to where I was just a year ago and I am amazed at myself as well.

It's sad to think what we do to ourselves with bad eating habits. I spent 30 years of my life being morbidly obese and I NEVER want to go back there. I was motivated to lose 172 lbs. by my doctor's words, "The EKG seems to show you've already had a heart attack." That simply scared me STRAIGHT. Even though his words turned out to be FALSE (my heart is fine), it certainly got my attention. Then...one of my goals was to be able to take my grandkids to an amusement park like we used to do with our boys. The trip is planned for JUNE! Mission accomplished. Now I think I need a new goal--one that will help me with my maintenance. And I think that goal will be to be able to take the grandkids BACK to the amusement park next June!

Happy 11th birthday to your daughter. And to you--congrats on an amazing accomplishment. You gave your daughter the greatest gift of all--YOU!

Worth mentioning

Really wanted those Oreo's the other day so bought a pack of the reduced fat Oreo's-get 3 in a serving for 4 points. Well use to be one serving lead to two lead to three then the whole container. Well those 3 cookies very slowly savored were not as good as they once were. Even with homemade almond milk. So guess my kids will eat the rest of the Oreo's.

Enjoying the veggies and fruit much more than before and eating stuff that as a kid I tried and then that was it. Asparagus is now one of my favorite things to crunch on. Nope still won't eat it cooked-GROSS!!!! Enjoying coming up with new ways to put things together to get the most out of them.

Greek yogurt is one of my favorites as well-use it like sour cream for dips-get that protein in there-of put in smoothies-YUM! and of course just eat it with some fruit as yogurt.
