I.C.E

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

I read a Spark tip and I want to share it.
add to your cell phone ICE in case of emergency
I had never thought about it.
If someone found my phone or I was unable to tell someone who to call
1st responders should look for ICE.
Walking, running, just driving to the store we can be in an accident.
Lets be prepared it is so easy just add the entry I.C.E the phone number and a note about who to call.

emoticonI've known about this for a long time since ER workers check cell phones of accident victims for this information. I asked my son the other day if he had an ICE number and he said "Of course, and it is YOU." emoticon

I have heard this, and I have my boyfriend and sister in my cell phone as "ICE ______ ." I couldn't imagine not having them as that now. Good advice!

My first reaction was someone who also doesn't like icy/wintry weather (except Christmas Day!) but has been a part of my cell phone when I 1st found out about it so has been why I always carry my cell phone especially when I take a walk

When I am on vacation I try to do everything I can in one day. That was today. I got up took my daughter to Walmart for some supplies she was having friends over to the house. Took her to the dentist. She had a good check up. emoticon
I was going to meet a friend for lunch so I asked her if she wanted to go bike riding. We rode 3 miles to the resturant and back. It was fun we had a good time talking and exercising. emoticon
Back to the dentist for my appointment got to hear about son's check up. Not so good. emoticon
Heard about other daughter's dentist appointment good. emoticon
And finally me good check up.

Wow our dentist is great they saw the family all day. I am glad I make the appointments all at once or I will not remember them.
Oral health is just as important as physical health. The dentist said she could tell by my gums that I have changed my diet. Now if only my kids would stop drinking the soda. Soda really eats away at the teeth.

Then I am off to the allergy doctor for monthly shots. I have been doing this for 1 year now. I can feel the difference. It is another healthy change I have made. I have had to adjust my schedule for weekly shots, then finally monthly shots. Yes like any healthy change it is worth it.

Back home it is so beautiful outside cool and crisp I took one of the dogs and we went to the park for a 3 mile jog. emoticon
I feel great now. I hope in the morning I feel the same.

So for now all the dentist app. have been taken care of. Son will be going Tues to fill cavity but he drives himself. Leaves me more time to exercise maybe I will go shopping for Christmas it is right around the corner.

Weight loss Camp

Saturday, December 18, 2010

For the past month I have been sick with an intestinal infection so I have not been working out like I wanted to. Plus at school things are fast and furious. Since Thanksgiving I feel like I do not know if I am coming or going. I have so much to write about and update that I just do not know where to begin.

1st I would like to share about my experience with Cyber Monday.
I ordered a camera from Walmart for my daughter. I had it shipped to my house because Walmart gets so crazy this time of year. emoticon
When it was delivered the Fed Ex person threw it into my yard with my 2 large boxer dogs to chew it up.
My son found the box all over our yard and the camera in the trees.
Good News Walmart made good on the return. I took it back to the store got a refund and ordered another camera this time to the store. Yea!!!!

My other daughter order from Amazon with no problem left a note and went and got it at the Post office. Another gift down.
My son just do not know what to get him. He is 22 and wants a new car, wants a new computer, new Nintendo, DS games, video games. Hey guy you need to save for college and get a job.

Not for Christmas this year sorry. Maybe a gift card will do.

I have had school festivals., band concerts and school programs have not gone to TOPS. I have not weighed in and I have gained. Now the last 2 weeks of the year the meetings are cancelled so no weigh in until Jan. maybe. Needless to say I am a little disappointed with the chapter. Oh well I am in no position to criticize. I need to be supportive of the officers because I have not been there for the past few weeks.

Finally I am on vacation.

Last year I used the 2 week vacation as my Weight Loss Boot Camp. I was again starting my weight loss journey. I was at 250lbs and I could barely walk 1 mile. During the holiday I started. 1 mile in the morning at 2.5 on my treadmill. 1 mile in the evening. By the end of the 2 weeks I was up to 3 miles in the morning. and 3 miles at night.

I need to do this again.

Instead of focusing on the food I am going to focus on exercise.
The problem is my body is used to walking so now I have to step it up to jogging to lose the weight. I am also doing push ups and plank. I think I will start bike riding with my stationary bike just to mix up the workout.

Vacation boot came will help with the stress and keep me out of the cookie jar.

I too will need to walk - have not been to TOPS since October!

How about a day for bird walking (of course we will need to stop at times to see the Nature created by God!)

We are on vacation!

Off to play at church

God Bless my friend

I love grapefruit.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Grapefruit is in season now.
Grapefruit is high in fiber and full of vitamin C.
Many drink grapefruit juice but it does not compare
to fruit from the tree.
Try some Ruby Red grapefruit it is better than candy.
Really.

I totally love grapefruit - I have one every single evening along with an orange and an apple - it's my go-to dessert!! Yum! I love to peel them and eat the segments.

I miss the white grapefruits, though. I used to like them better than the red...but I can't seem to find them around here anymore.

....and my tree is over flowing with Ruby Red.

I give it away since I am allergic to Citrus.
My son eats some and then so do my outside birds!

You are right about eating tooo much. People need to also be careful about the medications they are taking when eating grapefruit. But whole fruit is better than juice.
