When Did I Get Old?

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

OK the story starts last night, We had some one drive thrue our fence out at the farm. We get a call around 9:30, H runs out so see what happened, I Waite up tell about 11 then hit the sack. He gets home shortly after, he fills me in on what happened and I tell him I need sleep so about midnight I'm out.

I wake up at 6am on the dot which is norm for me. get up make the coffee crawl back in bed watch news and drink 2 cups of coffee. At 7: 15 get out of bed. Feed the animals because they are all bitching at me. Talk to my soon to be 18 year old daughter as she' s walking out the door.

Get my work out cloths on and wait for H to leave. Go for a walk/ jog lasted for 90 min. got home took a shower. Made me 1 poached egg a dry piece of toast and cut up a grapefruit.

IT HIT ME WOW I'M OLD WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN

It seams just like yesterday I was 16

the only property I had was in a bag that I took with me.

Midnight was the time I had to be home not the time went to sleep

My idea of exercise was running out the door

and breakfast was a LG sugar cookie (you know the kind with the pink frosting and sprinkles) and a 64 oz coke. I grabbed at a gas station on my way to school.

YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK I'M OK BEING OLD

OMG. Right up my alley right now! I'll be 40 in July....GULP! GASP! NOOOOOOOOO! Then I think about it and while my immediate reaction is to cringe then I have to remind myself that 40 is the new 20! I'll take that one to the bank! Look at all The Biggest Loser contestants. The *middle age* group tends to lose it faster and better! Woo for us!

I'll take that...

LOL, I just realized the same thing about myself...well, I don't consider myself old yet, but I'm on old's door-step. And then I read about the woman who at age 39 lost a ton of weight and posing with figure models (and really holding her own too!). I see the the pic of the 50 something, who has achieved exceptional physical fitness, and claims to be "in the best shape of her life". Yeah, age is just a number and the stories we get to read now thanks to the internet just confirm that.

Just look at the the bow-flex grand ma! emoticon emoticon

Awesome!!! I completed the couch to 5k program about 2 weeks ago, and if I can do it, you can totally do it too! Prior to starting c25k, I had never run on purpose for any reason in my entire life. It felt amazing to set the goal of finishing the program and then achieve it. Best of luck to you!

Ok this really dose not have any thing to do with weight loss or diet not even exercise.

As Americas waist lines get bigger. hear is some thing to think about.

I was in the truck with a bunch of teen age girls. We wear going to see Monti Carlo. I think the only conversation during a 30 mil trip was"I like your facebook status"

OK I think I am the only person under the age of 90 that dose not have a cell phone, facebook page, Twitter account. Hell I don't even have a e-bay account. Don't get me wrong I think it is great that you can make friends with people around country and the world. (like all the great people I have got to know on SP)

I remember as a kid growing up in the 80s. We never called our friends we rode are bike to their houses. We did not sit around for days on end playing video games. (my son just got of of a 24 hour game session at a friends house). We did not pop in a movie. We got a game of baseball going with the kids around the neighbor hood. If we went to see a movie it took 5 hours of walking around the mall to decide on what to see.

I know things have changed. I know for most family's both parent work. And are GREAT COUNTRY is not as safe as it use to be. But their is some thing wrong when you have a truck full of girls and they are to busy playing with their phones to talk to one another.

I have an almost 4 y.o. girl. I am not entirely sure how I am going to keep her active and interactive when she goes to school and begins to get more involved with these things. We do have a TV and I am trying now to decrease the amount of time it is on.

Very different world from when I was young.

I totally get this! I'm a teacher, I have watched communication change from sentences, to words, to letters. We have to teach verbal communication in schools because kids don't know how to do it face to face anymore. I do have a cell phone, and am computer literate as far as facebook etc., but it is hard to see kids glued to technology... Half the time they are in the same room, texting one another!

I've recently been trying to develop a better relationship with my half-sister who is 15. If we talk on the phone she is also texting, emailing and somehow technologically communicating with as many other people as possible. I go through the effort of planning a fun day out with her (she lives in another city) and she spends the whole time texting her friends or posting about how she's out with me having such a good time on FB. She will even put on her headphones in the car seat next to me so she can listen to her own music instead of talking or listening to music with me. It drives me bananas.

I get it! LOL. I do have a cell phone and FB page. Sometimes I catch my husband and I looking at our cell phones when we go out to eat and I usually say something like has our relationship really broken down so much that we can't make chit chat over a meal.
