It's in the low 30's today with no wind; I was going to try going for a short walk, but when I went out to get the mail first, I realized it was still too cold; no sun today and it's quite damp. My legs were cold even through my sweatpants. As much as I didn't want to give in to the cold and not go, I realized it was best not to go today. I had my Zometa yesterday, which causes some bone pain for a day or two after, and being out in the cold would only make it worse, so I'm wouldn't be helping myself my toughing it out. Not up to doing an indoor workout either, as I am having some stomach pain because of my GP symptoms flaring up because of the chemo. But tomorrow is another day, and maybe I will feel better and can do something then.
I cleaned the snow off my car while I was outside, even though I am not going anywhere today. I didn't want to let it build up too much and end up with a layer of ice underneath it as we have snow in the forecast just about everyday the rest of the week, which would make more work later cleaning it off if I need to use it. Today it was kind of melty so it just slid right off. I filled the bird feeders too as long as I was out.
Doing some laundry today, but otherwise taking things slow and easy today.
I was starting to get kind of bored with my crocheting while watching tv at night, so I dug out a counted cross stitch kit which is a small picture of 3 butterflies which I will work on. I hope I can finish it; I love to cross stitch, but I often get frustrated and don't finish my projects because about halfway through I end up making a dumb mistake that is too hard to fix. At least it will keep my hands busy so I am not tempted to snack!

It finally warmed up today, not a heat wave by any means, but quite a change from the single digits of the last few days; it got up to around 30°F. Since it was going to warmer, I was planning on finally shoveling out my walkway when I got home from chemo today, but one of my good friends showed up this morning while I was getting ready to go to my appointment and shoveled it out for me! It is so awesome to have friends like that! And it was nice not to have to walk through the snow on my way out. I think I could have handled the shoveling today, but it's good to give my shoulder some extra time to get better before the next time we get a lot of snow.
Today was my day to see my oncologist before my chemo; I see him once per month. I told him that my pain specialist thought I should get a bone scan to evaluate the shoulder pain, and he agreed it was a good idea, he said it was time for one again anyway, so I am getting that done on Friday. After that, I had my chemo, then my monthly Zometa infusion. I was in the office about 3 hours today, but in that time, I almost finished a book, (which I actually did finish after I got home), and I also brought my lunch with me, some leftover turkey noodle casserole that I put in a small thermos container.
Taking the day off from working out today; not just because of the chemo, but my legs are still sore from yesterday's workout. I guess I worked out a little more intensely than I thought I did, which is not a bad thing!

We had our coldest night yet so far last night, it got down to -22°F, but the good news is, it will start warming up today, into the 20's. It's been snowing today too.
Because of it being so cold, I decided not do my grocery shopping this morning. I am well stocked up on what I need, so I can wait til next Monday to shop. Why go out in the cold if I don't have too? There was also a chance of freezing drizzle today and I would not want to be caught out in that. It was also nice to sleep in on a Monday for a change, though I slept much longer than I intended too, not getting up til 9:30. It was nice to take my time making breakfast today too; made poached eggs and toast.
My hip seemed to be ok this morning, just some mild pain in it that is always there, so I guess whatever I did to it Friday was not a serious injury. I did a 15 minute Denise Austin indoor walk workout, this time I tried a segment that I hadn't done before, just to keep from getting bored; I did the Power Walk, which uses weights, but I did not use the weights because of my shoulder. I tried to do the arm movements as much as I could though, and because I don't want to reinjure my hip, I was careful with doing any side to side movements not to step with my legs too far apart. I can't let fear of hurting later keep me from trying; if I do end up hurting from it later, I can always take a couple of days off again.
My upper legs were feeling sore this afternoon, but that's not a bad thing; the soreness is in the muscles, and even though the workout was short,

It got down to -22 °F here last night; I think that might be a record low. Right now, it is around 4pm, but it's only made it to 10°F. Tonight's low is predicted to 0, but with wind chills as low as -16. I'm glad I did not have to go outside today. I'm still glad to see the sun shining when I look out though.
I decided to give my hip at least one more day of rest of any aerobic exercise, but I did a short workout with the stability ball instead. I did some bicep curls using my 1 pound dumb bells. I guess my shoulder was not ready for even that light weight yet, because shortly after that, my arm and shoulder really started to hurt again, and I ended up taking a pain pill at 2pm. It's so frustrating; trying to work within the limits of my health problems, and now having to give up using my dumb bells at least until my shoulder gets better. Between the fatigue and the chronic pain issues, it's a challenge at times to keep up with the minimum of my fitness goals. At least my workout today did help with the back pain that I woke up with, I think I just needed to stretch those muscles.
Before the pain started to bother me, I did get a couple of patterns cut out, for a top and for a pair of pajama pants. After I finish the Kindle covers I am making, I will start on those.

I think I might have pulled something in my hip (on the side I have the sciatica) when I did my Leslie Sansone workout yesterday. Last night my hip was really hurting, and at times, if I moved a certain way, it almost felt like I was having a spasm in it. It's still sore today, so I decided it was best to skip the workout today. Hurting a little bit today, but keeping it under control with my pain pills.
Today is one of those days where I feel like I am busy but yet not accomplishing much. Getting kind of restless and bored, but the pain pills are making me just tired enough where I really can't do much of anything that requires concentration, such as my craft projects. I did a few little chores around the house that were easy, and got caught up on some of the surveys and reward programs that I do online. Got the checking account balanced too.
Very, very cold out again today. I made some corn muffins for breakfast this morning; fresh and warm from the oven, they were just perfect for today. I also did some cooking at lunch time, made a turkey noodle casserole. Tonight I will be having some of the potato soup I made last night for dinner.
I was not intending to go outside today, but I had to go out and move my car for the plow this afternoon. We had about 3 inches of snow overnight. I did not shovel today though, because of the cold, and my hip pain. My shoulder is hurting a little bit too so I also though it best not to aggravate that today.
After dinner, going to spend some time sitting with my heating pad. I'll do some reading, and maybe watch some more of The Tudors on DVD.
