I think I need to do something new. Getting sick, the change in the weather, less sunlight, etc... has really depleted my motivation. I'm looking into starting something like Turbofire. I need something all worked out for me, and DVDs seem to be an easy way to go. I think today I'll look into our Kinect game. It's called UFC something and I think it's a similar type of program. I just need my kids to help me figure it out, being a game and not a DVD.
I'd like suggestions of what programs my Spark Friends like. Let me know if your suggestion can be adapted to low impact. I enjoy Zumba, Jazzercise, and Tae Kwon Do moves, so I'm open to trying different programs.
Please, please give me your suggestions!!!

The stomach flu plague has hit our house with a vengeance this week. We had such a fantastic weekend: craft show, basketball win, St Nicholas at church, visit with my parents, Christmas boutique, Sunday dinner out. Monday went ok. I had a nice walk with hubby, despite him having some asthma trouble. The kids went to school. I got Mikey to the orthodontist, and did a Costco run. Then, late Monday night, it all fell apart.
Mary (13) started vomiting. Later, Stevie (10), joined in. Hubby and I struggled through the night taking care of them. We got the others off to school, and hubby to work. I went back for a nap as Mary and Stevie were resting. I got up around 12 noon and it was my turn. I never actually vomited, but I can't remember when I've had such dizzying nausea. My skin hurt later that day, everywhere, even my ear lobes. I never had a fever, but the chills set in. We got some good sleep Tuesday night. We all went to bed really early. Actually, I had pretty much stayed in bed all day.
Wednesday, Stevie still stayed home recovering. Hubby worked from home. I went in to work. I was weak, but I made it through, eating saltines all night. I guess four people called in sick yesterday. The whole place smelled of bleach. The bosses wiped everything down. When I got home, Mikey (16), and Sean (7), were down for the count. Bridget (7) joined them in the middle of the night. Hubby and I were up all night again.
So today, I have three out of six home from school. I will probably keep them home tomorrow too. I pray that hubby and Pat don't come down with this. They have enough trouble with asthma, they don't need this. And, my exercise streak came to an end. I ended up doing 370 straight days of 10 min per day of exercise. I plan to take a short break, mostly to recover from this bug and catch up cleaning the house and doing laundry. Everything is behind. I'm not stressed about decorating yet. We normally wait until closer to Christmas. I would like to get some cards out. They will probably be simple. We have the picture taken.

This weekend was a fantastic weekend, except for the Husker loss. Saturday, it was so great to see Stevie's basketball team get their first win, and for Stevie(10) to do so well. I mentioned his eight points, I forgot to mention that he scored the first two points of the game, and it was an awesome shot.
Sunday we went to mass first. Then we had the monthly eggs/pancake breakfast afterward. Since Saint Nicholas' feast day is December 6th, he made an appearance and gave treats to the kids (St Nicholas, not Santa). We then went to my mom's house and had a nice family picture taken. I'm anxious to get the Christmas cards put together. Then we ended up going to Aksarben Village. There was a Christmas boutique there and they had it all lit up for Christmas. We also ate at the Thai restaurant. It was a great family day.
My exercise yesterday was playing basketball with the kids at my Dad's house. We had so much fun again. Dad and I couldn't hit any shot. We were pathetic, but we still kept trying.
I've already gotten my exercise in today. Hubby and I went on a short walk, only eighteen minutes, but he was with me. That's all that matters.

Today, November 29th, is my one year anniversary for doing 10 min of exercise per day! I thought my math was off, but then I remembered that 2012 is a leap year. I double checked my blogs from a year ago, and November 29th was when I started this challenge.
Yesterday's workout was a nice walk with hubby and my twins (7). It wasn't the stellar workout that I wanted, but I really enjoyed having some of my family with me. I've been working a lot of shifts at both my jobs, and it's slowing me down a bit. It's also taking away a lot of valuable exercise time.
Today (Day 366) !!! I wanted to do a better workout to celebrate one year. I walked by myself in my new shoes for a total of 60 minutes and 3.4 miles. There were several hard hills, and I tried to push myself. Hubby exchanged my Asics that I just got (one or two months ago) and got me new ones. The new ones are slightly different, but I think they'll work. I can't believe my shoes got a hole in the toe, and they were so new. My last Asics didn't get holes until after two, maybe two and a half years. Anyway, I had a fantastic walk at a pace of 17.6 minutes per mile. That is a fast pace, especially considering the hills.
Well, I have to go. My 14 year old son wants to go on a walk, so I think I'll up my mileage for the day.
We just added 1.2 more miles to my total today. Half of that was up hill, including about 130 stairs by the schools.
