Days 369 & 370

This weekend was a fantastic weekend, except for the Husker loss. Saturday, it was so great to see Stevie's basketball team get their first win, and for Stevie(10) to do so well. I mentioned his eight points, I forgot to mention that he scored the first two points of the game, and it was an awesome shot.

Sunday we went to mass first. Then we had the monthly eggs/pancake breakfast afterward. Since Saint Nicholas' feast day is December 6th, he made an appearance and gave treats to the kids (St Nicholas, not Santa). We then went to my mom's house and had a nice family picture taken. I'm anxious to get the Christmas cards put together. Then we ended up going to Aksarben Village. There was a Christmas boutique there and they had it all lit up for Christmas. We also ate at the Thai restaurant. It was a great family day.

My exercise yesterday was playing basketball with the kids at my Dad's house. We had so much fun again. Dad and I couldn't hit any shot. We were pathetic, but we still kept trying.

I've already gotten my exercise in today. Hubby and I went on a short walk, only eighteen minutes, but he was with me. That's all that matters.

367 & 368

367- I had a nice 50 minute walk with Hubby, lots of good hills and beautiful weather.

368-Only ten minutes on the elliptical. Good news today, though, Stevie's (10) basketball team got their first win. Stevie scored 8 points and did great today. The whole team did great. They really needed this win. They are learning a lot, but you need at least one win to boost your spirits every now and then. It was extra special since my parents were there too.

Nice that Brian will take the time to walk with you. Ed always says he wants to but seems to be busy (conveniently? who's to say, I guess - LOL) 50 minutes in a nice long walk, too.

Yeah for Stevie! 8 points had to be fun for him. It's always nice when the Grandparents get to watch AND see a win AND see the Grandkid ROCK the show.

Days 365 & 366-One Leap Year of 10min/day of exericse!

Today, November 29th, is my one year anniversary for doing 10 min of exercise per day! I thought my math was off, but then I remembered that 2012 is a leap year. I double checked my blogs from a year ago, and November 29th was when I started this challenge.

Yesterday's workout was a nice walk with hubby and my twins (7). It wasn't the stellar workout that I wanted, but I really enjoyed having some of my family with me. I've been working a lot of shifts at both my jobs, and it's slowing me down a bit. It's also taking away a lot of valuable exercise time.

Today (Day 366) !!! I wanted to do a better workout to celebrate one year. I walked by myself in my new shoes for a total of 60 minutes and 3.4 miles. There were several hard hills, and I tried to push myself. Hubby exchanged my Asics that I just got (one or two months ago) and got me new ones. The new ones are slightly different, but I think they'll work. I can't believe my shoes got a hole in the toe, and they were so new. My last Asics didn't get holes until after two, maybe two and a half years. Anyway, I had a fantastic walk at a pace of 17.6 minutes per mile. That is a fast pace, especially considering the hills.

Well, I have to go. My 14 year old son wants to go on a walk, so I think I'll up my mileage for the day.

We just added 1.2 more miles to my total today. Half of that was up hill, including about 130 stairs by the schools.

Days 363 & 364-Almost a year!

I'm still very busy and can't believe how much I get done in a day. Yesterday was filled with trying to get the laundry caught up because I went from working only two days this week, to three or possibly four. I also got dinner made for the family (spaghetti) and myself (taco meat for taco salad) and the quick shopping done (just the local grocery store). Sean (7) and I went to the doctor too. He's had a back ache for a while and I took him to ease hubby's mind. Doc confirmed it's probably just muscle ache for the rough housing incident, bones look fine. I got some names for possibly getting my gall bladder checked out. Since I had a negative scan, though, it's hard to say if I need to have anything done. At 9:30 last night I got my 10 minutes in on the elliptical.

Today, I'm still busy with the checkbook and laundry and catching up paperwork at home. I squeezed in another 10 minutes on the elliptical, so my streak is almost at one year now!

Short workouts each day due to Thanksgiving weekend and work schedule.

Friday: 11 min walk-very cold out!

Saturday: 10 min elliptical

Sunday: 10 min elliptical

I am so happy now! Hubby finally lubricated my elliptical and it is making so much less noise. I think I can finally adapt to indoor workouts, if I can only find the time for a longer workout.
